Very happy with this rug!

I was so hoping that the burgundy color would be dark so it would bring out the color in my sofa and other accessories in the room and it is PERFECT! It's not bright red, thankfully, it's a deep burgundy. I love it and love the price! Thanks Walmart! Now it is a low grade carpet but I expected that. It suits the function I needed just perfect :)

Covered with Sand

Thus rug came to us filled with sand. As soon as we unrolled it, our apartment was filled with sand. In the two days that we have had it it has continued to shake our sand. Underneath the rug looks like the beach. It is filthy and a poor product.

Great value with the right expecatation

We needed just an area rug with a maroonish-purple-ish color, and didn't care about it being super plush or anything, as we have a very active and messy 18 month old - it will be destroyed in a few years anyhow! The color is hard to tell - the pic looks a bit purple which is accurate at times - it really depends on the light. Sometimes it's very burgundy looking, other times it's more of a amethyst color. Our living room has light purple undertones, so that could pull more of it out. It's not particularly soft underfoot because it is quite thin - almost like a commercial rug w/o the sturdiness. That's why I say realistic expectations - this was INCREDIBLY inexpensive comparatively and a fantastic value given the size. It's huge! I needed something basic to stop my sectional from shifting and to break up our long and thin living room (12' x 25') visually, and for that it was perfect. Because it was so inexpensive, I wasn't expecting 2" thick silk. We are very pleased with the result.

good for the price

I ordered the blue. It's not a vivid eye catching blue and I'm glad about that. It looks like the photo on my computer. Kind of a deep blue but not as dark as navy blue. The rug is a little thin but sturdy and firm. It's not thin enough where it bunches up when you walk though like a kitchen mat might do. It stay's flat. I actually have it outside in the sun and so far it hasn't faded and even though it's been rained on almost daily it's still holding it's shape and staying in place. It's not listed as indoor/outdoor carpet, but I had no problems leaving it outside. If you were to use it inside, you'd need a rug pad so it doesn't slip. There isn't any no-slip backing on it. It's also bound so that gives it a finished look. You get what you pay for and for the price, its a decent rug. It's low pile so it's easy to vacuum or sweep off. I had one of these for 5 years outside through summer and winter snow. It was still in perfect condition when I threw it out. I only threw it away because I wanted a different color.

Actually worked out great!

I got it on clearance for $15, the blue color was right, the size was right - I'll be honest, because it's not the fabulous quality wool pile type rug I'd hoped for, my biggest doubt was if this item could even pull off being in my overly decor oriented home in any room, let alone go under my dining room table and look close to decent. But somehow, it actually is working out, and rather well - I have no bothers from the rug at all visually, which surprises me... Also another attribute that is great about this rug, is that I have three dogs and the carpet is sort of low grade commercial type, so honestly I have nothing to worry about in terms of doggie accidents ruining it. It looks decent enough in the right setting, not to bother me, that's both from a distance or close up, and for the price and the size, I would recommend at least considering this one. You can always return it if it doesn't work for you.

Decent and Cost Effective

We purchased the 9'x12' version of this remnant, which turned out to be a bit too large for the room (I guess that's why they make measuring tapes). Naturally, this was our fault. The product itself is a low-pile remnant with stitched edges. It reminds me of the carpet you'll see in an office environment, or perhaps a grade school. It is cut very low, so it has no cushion. It looks like an excellent choice for high-traffic areas, although I can't tell you how it wears since we've had it only a couple of weeks and it's mostly under the bed. Again, since the pile is very low, you won't have any trouble cleaning this. It's not a soft-and-squishy kind of carpet, so I wouldn't put it in the living room like the picture on the website shows. Best fit: around a bed (as we have it), or to cheaply carpet a kid's room (to protect wood floors, for example). We had this shipped to the house since it was so large (again, 9' x 12', rolled up). I'm glad I did - I don't know how I would have gotten it home from Walmart. Even the 6' would have been a little challenging, although you could probably fold it over and shove it in the back seat of a car.

Fabulously HUGE rug for great price!

Fantastic! We ordered this rug to "pull" our living room together. We had a little IKEA rug which just wasn't big enough to fit under the front legs of all our furniture, as is the "code!" I simply couldn't afford a standard wool rug because it would have to be so huge (we got the 8.9x12), and cost thousands of dollars! When I saw how cheap this was DELIVERED FOR FREE to my front door, I couldn't resist trying it out, and boy was it worth it! We laid it on top of standard plush tan carpet. The first few days we had to keep smoothing it out due to wrinkles caused by casters and the soft carpet underneath (we did put in wooden caster cups to help out, and it did). Now it lays flat and looks amazing! As others have reviewed, it is not dark blue or navy, but a deep smoky mountains / marine grey-blue. Which is what I needed, so very happy! As for the binding, it's purely decorative, sort of a loop-n-back sewed on the top with two lines of fishing wire (clear, invisible). This is not truly "bound" botom to top and around the sides like the little remnant door mats you can buy. It is CARPET, with the standard grid that is kinda scratchy on the bottom - so if putting on hard surfaces, get a non-slip mat for underneath. The rug is pretty thin, so I might just add a wider border of my own someday if it starts to fray - this will be no problem with a big needle. So cheap, so worth it! Oh, and it vacuums great and doesn't shed. Think office grade carpet - strange how it looks so good tho in a much higher end room tho - I needed the color base, and this worked!

exactly what I wanted

I just unrolled this carpet today, so it is too soon to say anything about how well it wears, but it certainly looks like it will last just fine. Nice tight weave, no bare spots or anything. The big surprise for me was the color. It is not a deep blue, but a beautiful medium blue which I like better than the deep color shown. I admit, I was shopping for something inexpensive and would have settled for the darker color, but this was an added plus for me. I would love this color in my living room too.

cheap and big

a big rug that's cheap. I put it on top of the boring beige carpet of my rented house to both protect the installed carpet and to add a bit of color. If you don't expect deep pile shag or something really luxurious, you won't be disappointed. It's a thin, industrial type carpet, but it's not uncomfortable to stand on barefoot or sit on. I'll be ordering a second for the basement.

Very nice rug!

I was unsure how this would look in my living room. My husband and I have recently put down hardwood floors and wanted a nice rug with a lot of coverage. We'd looked into other places, but with a three year old and a six month old, we didn't want anything that was very expensive. This rug is 5 times cheaper than any other plush area rug and it is holding up wonderfully! I thought for $60 it would be very hard and not comfy, but even though it's not "plush" it is soft enough to be very comfortable on knees and bottoms. = ) Love it!
