I have had my IdeaPad laptop for about a week now and I am very well satisfied with the purchase. I'm a full time student and I needed a laptop that could run quickly and smoothly. The set up was very easy and was done through the Cortana AI. The battery runs for a solid 6+ hours straight before needing a charge which in my opinion is fair for the speed and RAM capabilities of this machine. The screen itself is large, full touchscreen, and good HD. Here's a tip that took me a while to figure out: when trying to turn on the backlight for the keyboard, hold FN and hit the space bar. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Very good value for this price
The whole machine is very light(about 1.7kg), which means I can put it on my leg when I am sitting on my bed. Second is its build quality, it's hard to anything about this quality with this price. The A side is aluminum panel, the keyboard feels very good either, and the d side is plastic, but I can't really complain that much with this price. And the last thing is only defect I have to say, is its screen is a tn panel, the color on this screen is very "mediocre". But over all, it's still a laptop with high build quality to its price.
Fantastic machine for my online degree
I'm a single working mom who's in an online program for my second Master's. I needed a reliable computer for my classwork, research, and required video chats that wouldn't break the bank. I made the perfect choice with the S340. The backlit keyboard is perfect for working at night while my toddler sleeps. I added a silent-click wireless mouse and I am very pleased with everything so far. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Fair value for light tasks.
I bought this unit for working from home as it was on sale. Be aware that the webcam has no built in cover, and the on-off switch is present only in software. It has an extra memory chip socket inside so if you buy more memory you can easily add it into the accessible socket with the help of a screwdriver. This unit is good for basic computing tasks like word processing, light spreadsheets, casual games, web browsing, and the like. The screen feels small at the native resolution. I would strongly advise buying a wired mouse, as the touchpad works but is terribly annoying, and a USB thumb drive for backing up Windows once you get it home. I'm enjoying the device for its value.
Computer is a really nice computer for the money. I use it for school, and it gets the job done. The keyboard had wider placed keys than a normal keyboard and takes awhile to get used to it. The computer is super light in weight. The speakers are adequate. The webcam has good picture.
More than I expected...with ease.
This is my first experience with this brand of computer and I am extremely please. I am not a big tech person. So, I need things to be easy to find and use. This is that type of laptop. I have no problems hooking it up to wireless service, printer and other technical items I will use this computer for. The back lighting of the key board is a small plus for some however a major for me. It makes my night time working easy to see and complete. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was sold a lemon
This computer was overnighted to me and non functional out of the box. I got the blue screen of death (whea_uncorrectable) error immediately after set up. This is my first experience with lenovo and my last. I spent 2 hours on the phone with lenovo tech support the very same day I got it and they were not able to resolve the issue. The tech connected to my computer remotely. Reset some things gave me a ticket number and told me to call back if it didnt work properly after reboot. Well it didnt and i could not lose anymore work hours so this went back.
