After 1 year of usage, I decide to write up a review. Pros: Faster than other computers. 1TB HDD makes things easier than my older computer. DVD Drive from older computer worked on this computer. Cons: Keyboard easily wears out, with a, s and caps lock keys already worn out. Extremely slow when installing stuff that is large, such as Photoshop. Battery drains faster than other computer. Bottom Line: If you are looking for more storage, this computer is right for you. No DVD drive is in here, but added one that fits.

POS
I actually made a mistake buying this laptop as this wasnt the laptop I thought i saw online. I got it home started it up, left it on the charger for about 6 hours. When i went to turn it on, it got stuck on the locked screen and nothing else happens or pops up. This laptop and Lenovo is complete trash. Just now reading the previous review I realized the CD drive is fake LOL! Wtf Lenovo? Its 3am and hours after I realized this is a POS, I'm anxious waiting to return this junk back to walmart. The CD drive foolery is just shameful to top it off.

Good moderate laptop with no DVD/CD

I bought this computer as I like Lenovo as a brand and I have a very good understand of computers.. I have been pretty pleased with this computer in whole.. I was very aware this computer has no cd/dvd. The reviews complaining about, they could easily buy an external dvd/cd player for 14 to 30 dollars. The 2 things that I personally don't like on this computer was 1. The mouse pad (I got use to it so it good) 2. The plug as the plug huge to plug in... (I could buy a different power cord online which would fix what I don't like but... I don't mind it that much) I personally would buy this laptop again after using it for a little while. Adios.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 330-15 laptop. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. This is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its Intel Core i3-8130U processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 2.2GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.4GHz. This configuration has 4GB RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. If this describes your computing needs, the IdeaPad 330-15 would be a good choice for you.

good laptop at a very reasonable price

love the design. keypad is much more user friendly than my previous dell laptop. have notice the battery life is not long, 5 hours(?). wife watches alot of movies streamng via netflix and the speed is very good. we do not do gaming, so unknown if this laptop is powerful enough for that. i am alittle confused about microsoft office. everytime i go to use, it asks me to activate via "product key". don't see a product key on laptop or receipt. it looks like this is only a 30 day trial for microsoft office anyway.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 330-15 laptop. There is a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office 365 included as part of the Windows 10 operating system. In order to keep the program active after the trial period, you will need to purchase a product key. You will not need to download any additional software. The IdeaPad 330-15 ships with a 2CELL 30WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life of up to 5 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. To maximize battery life, Be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Additionally, to maximize battery life, try changing your power management setting to a more conservative one. You can do this in the control panel, in the power management category on your system. I just got this laptop. it is by far way better than my old one. The only disappointing things for it is that it doesnt have a CD drive and the battery doesnt really last too long. but other than that I think it is an excellent laptop

You are correct, model number 81DE00L8US, does not ship with a CD/DVD-RW drive. The Ideapad 330-15 has a 2CELL 30WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life up to 5 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing. To maximize battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Disappointed

I am disappointed in the machine. I have had it for a few months. The more I use it the worst it gets. It freezes up ever time you go to do anything. I don't like it because it doesn't have a DVD rom, which I thought it had one until I got home an found out it didn't have one, the pad that moves the arrow doesn't work half the time. An talk about slow, I am old an I move faster then this machine. I like more memory but it looks like I can't put anymore in. 4GB isn't very much. I have had a Lenovo before but this one is a big disappointment so take time I will go back to HP or try a Sony out but I won't be buy another Lenovo.

Model number 81DE00L8US, the Lenovo IdeaPad 330-15 laptop does not have a CD/DVD drive built in. You can use an external, USB-based CD/DVD drive with this model. This is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its Intel Core i3-8130U processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 2.2GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.4GHz. This configuration has 4GB of DDR4-2133MHz RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. If you are experiencing slower performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Junk

I bought this and had it maybe 3 weeks before I opened it up and the screen cracked. It was all I could do to afford this computer, I couldn't afford to pay another $50 to get the extended warranty. But who would have thought the screens are so pathetically flimsy if you open it with one hand instead of two they will break. Where is the durability? I will never buy another Lenovo product!

POS

When i went to turn it on, it got stuck on the locked screen and nothing else happens or pops up. This laptop and Lenovo is complete trash. This system does not have a CD/DVD drive. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the SD Card slot on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Dead Slow Machine

Ultra Slow Machine - Never expected this from lenova . Laptop is very slow 4-5 websites and it slows down drastically . never expected a multitasking with i3 but never thought this struggle to even switch the tabs between the websites. Not sure if its a problem with the config

1. Windows 10 operating system has Windows Defender virus protection, which is free. There is a 30-day trial of McAfee virus protection software. After the 30-day trial you will need to purchase a subscription to McAfee to continue service. You can also add your own 3rd party virus protection software.

1. This model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. The maximum RAM this configuration can support is 12GB. The 4GB RAM the device ships with is soldered to the motherboard. There is one memory slot for RAM that your certified technician can add an 8GB RAM stick to for a system total of 12GB RAM.
