What child doesn't love to play with a cash register? There are a number of them out there, but few are quality made and can stand up for long. This one is a keeper. I bought so many for my daughter when she was a child. They were cute but made of flimsy plastic and never held up. She loved the scanners. But those only flashed a light and never lasted longer than a day or two. Santa Claus brought this cash register for my granddaughter and she loves it! It is made of sturdy plastic. The color is nice and gender neutral. It is loaded with very realistic play bills and coins. The detail is the closest to real that I've ever seen. The money is comparable to actual in look, size and feel. It could even be replaced with actual money for older kids playing "real store". Could be a valuable tool for kids to understand the buying and selling process. My granddaughter is way too young for that, but it will probably need real money by then because I'm sure the money included will be lost by that time! The calculator is a great teaching tool. She loves to count and call the numbers as she pushes the buttons. As she grows older, she will learn the plus, minus, equal and etc. This is a growing and learning tool for all of us to use with her, and a fun everyday toy just for her. One of those things that kids love but don't know it's good for them! It's not full of junk stuff or unnecessary sounds, bells and whistles. It beeps when you punch in numbers and slide credit card. It cha-chings when you press open. When she's older we can teach her how to minus out coupons and save money! I would definitely recommend this product...5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Pretend Cash Register for a Child!
I got this for my youngest Grand Daughter. It came straight out of the box, with no set up required. All I did was take the protective tape off. Opened and deposited the play coins and currency, and opened the package to get the Credit Card. It has a pre-installed battery for the beeping sound, but the calculator is run by solar power. She was thrilled. She played with it all day!! It actually works and even shows when she made a mistake. I think every can in the pantry was used when she played supermarket. Everybody in the family became shoppers. It was entertaining and very educational for her. I spent all afternoon teaching her how to make change. It required no tools, Was already pre-assembled, and is very colorful and life-like. I give this 5 stars as you don't get many toys today that can be played right out of the box!!
Realistic and fun Cash Register!
We received the Learning Resources Pretend & Play Calculator and Cash Register a few nights ago and it is a hit with my 2 year 8 month old daughter. At the store, she is pretty interested in transactions and for a long time has figured out that you have to put the items you want on the belt and pay for it and then you get them back. So I thought this would be a good learning toy for her, and it is. My first reaction when I opened the box is that it is well made, sturdy and actually looks like a cash register. I immediately pushed the “open” button on the register and the drawer sprang open with a ding. So there is nothing to put together and it is ready to go from the box which is awesome for a parent. You only have to unwrap the play money and credit card that is included. Since my daughter is under 3, I didnt give her the coins as I was afraid she might try to put them in her mouth. As soon as my daughter saw me open the drawer with the button, she was hooked. She set up her own little shop and slides the credit card in the designated slot and pushes the buttons, plays with the cash and has a great time. This set will be very useful also when she starts counting more and doing simple math (she can count to 10 now, but for now the pretend play is unlimited.
Fun pretend play
Hello I received this as part of Walmart spark reviewer program. This is intended for my son and my 2 nephews, since my mother in law runs a grocery store and my wife works there in the register machine, so the kids always wanted to work at the real register...but now with this, we won't have any trouble with that anymore. Now about the toy...it comes securely packaged, but even if it wasn't so, you wouldn't have to worry, because is mainly plastic made; its construction is ok for its price range and the color seems a little darker from what you can see in the official product pictures. If you can take a look at the one I uploaded you can notice a darker red, but still nice. The toy comes with some pretend bills and a pretend credit card, so your kids can play and have some "money" to exchange for items. I highly recommend this toy since it also has an educational value, since my kids one is 6, one is 5 and the youngest is 3, they are learning how to make basic sums and subtractions at school, so when they play and pretend to buy and use money, they practice a bit their math, also they are learning the value of some items (since they play with the goods at my mother in law store). Overall a good and highly recommended toy. This will keep the kids entertained and having fun or a while. Best regards
Good toy with real like play bills & coins
The toy requires no assembly so easy to start with & very well made sturdy construction of set. This is solar powered & no battery for calculator needed. The buttons on the register is big enough for kids to easy press the numbers. Also they can learn numbers, simple addition. The lcd display is a large one with 8 digit to view. There is sound of bell when the money draw opens like real one & very interesting. The money tray holds 30 pretend play bills & 40 plastic coins. The money is all real size & makes kids learn count and know the coins so makes play very interesting too. There are bills of 1, 5, 10 & 20 and coins of quarters, dimes, penny, cents. Also there is a credit card slot & pretend play credit card as well. My child enjoys putting all play food items which she has already into her shopping cart (which is a separate toy) and plays as supermarket billing game. This toy also comes with an activity guide which gives guidelines for different ways to play with the cash register which is really good & I learnt to make my child play different games other than the supermarket billing alone. The only thing is the calculator cannot be used when the daylight is less but the best part is the money draw still opens & works! There is a notepad for writing as well. I would recommend this toy to anyone who is looking for fun play & also to learn adding simple number adding with calculator.
Pretend & Play cash register
I just got the Pretend & Play calculator cash register by Learning Resources. I have found that it is easy to use and fun for kids to learn math. This cash register is an actual calculator that adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides. It has the added bonus of paper money (ones, fives, tens, and twenties) and plastic coins (pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters). It also has a pretend credit card that actually has the phone number for learning resources on it so if you ever have a problem, there is the phone number for calling the company. The drawer opens with a push of the button and the calculator itself requires no batteries as it is solar powered. The buttons are large so you don't have to worry about pressing a wrong button. The booklet that comes with the cash register has little activities that can be played with your child or a group of kids. It gives them scenarios that they can work out and use to learn different mathematical problems. There is also a small note pad that can sit on the cash register for your child to write small notes. The only thing I found that could be improved would be for enough slots for all paper money. There are only three slots available to separate your paper money. I like that you can store all your items inside the drawer. Over all this is a nice product and I would recommend it for any parent to help teach their children or for teachers to use in their classrooms to give their students fun learning activities. Use the booklet or create your own activity. **I would suggest sitting it in the sun for a few hours to let it charge up before use as it has been sitting in the box at the store or warehouse, so the battery will probably be weak.
Very Sturdy Deisgn
The design of this cash register is good and I am sure it will last a long time as it seems very durable. The display is large and easy to read. The play money, which was one of my primary concerns, is realistically sized and marked. There is plenty of it to play with and make change too. The credit card is a nice touch which slides into a slot with a beep. This is the age where role play and using their imagination is very important. Everything about the design is great. I love that it is solar powered and doesn't require batteries. I feel like this is a good purchase and I would recommend it as a sturdy play set with high educational potential. The little pad of paper that comes with is pretty useless for little ones but I can see it being a fun part of the routine for older kids, especially when you tie it into the real grocery store receipt you receive. I think this cash register will remain a favorite as my grand-kids grow. Lots of learning possibilities with this toy.
Learning while playing !
When I received this pretend & play calculator cash register a week ago I wasn't to sure if my kids wore going to like it . It look so simple compare to other pretend register . The first thing I notice was it did not need batteries . I was really glad since my kids love to take off the batteries from everything at least I wouldn't have to worried about where wore the batteries ! The other thing I like was the money look so real even the change ! It comes with a little credit card , note pads , fake money and change. It has ones, fives , tens , twenties , pennies , nickels , dimes and quarters . When you slide the credit card it makes a noise like when scan a product at a store , so my kids love that. My 6yr old daughter love it , she isn't very good at math so this has been helping her a lot , now she knows how to make a dollar out of change . The numbers are very clear and big on the screen . When she doesn't remember what is 4 + 4 she grabs her register and find out . Thanks to this now she knows how a calculator works !! She now knows the symbols for multiplication, adding , diving and subtraction . The key pads are plastic but it doesn't break easily , I should know the have drop it several times and it still works perfectly fine !On the key pad it has a key that says open that opens the register . My 7yr boy loves it too , they both play with it , it helps him out with he's homework and at the same time he spends time playing with sister . I am real glad I got this for them it helps them with numbers and how to count money and which to be able to tell what is a one dollar bill and a twenty . I really do recommend this product to friends and even to teachers , it helps them a lot and they are having fun while learning .
Ring up some fun!
The Learning Resources Pretend and Play Calculator Cash Register has been a Super buy on an educational and entertaining product, The cash register can be used right out of the box. No batteries or assemble required. This product is solar powered. So, there will never be a need to purchase batteries. The register is sturdy and well built. The big buttons on the register is a plus. The volume on this isn't loud. It's a small chirping sound which isn't annoying. The door rings when opened. There is a lot of learning potential with this toy for kids of all ages. The register came with play money that resembles real currency both paper and coin. A pretend plastic credit card. When swiped, the cash register makes noise. The younger children can use it for "pretend" purposes and the older kids can use the calculator on it to help with learning and mathematics. The instruction manual suggests fun ways to use the cash register. Ways to play store and fun ways to use as an educational item. I would recommend the learning resources pretend and play calculator cash register to children who are learning about money in school or for a play toy for younger kids. This product will definitely grow with your child over the years.
Great cash register for learning
This is a sturdy cash register. It's definitely basic but for a child learning, it's perfect. Learning Resources have never disappointed me with their products. Their products are usually basic but they work properly and they really do help kids learn. This is a product that can be used for years. The calculator in this register is a really good tool and definitely a perk. To explain about the cash register, it's more so lightweight and straightforward. It comes with fake cash that looks pretty real. coins, pad of paper, credit card, and a booklet with suggestions and ideas. The numbers are big on the cash register calculator and on the screen. The buttons are plastic but don't seem to stick which is a very good thing. The key pad pretty much is a calculator with it's number, symbols for multiplication, subtraction, addition, and division. It also has a key that says open which is the only way to open the cash register. This is a cash register not just for pretend play, if you are planning on buying just for the pretend play, I would advise you do something else. There are many out there that make noise, have the belt, scale, microphone, etc. This is something more for kids who are learning to use and count money, who are learning Math. I recommend more so for Parents or teachers who want to help kids learn in a fun way. Other wise, for kids who are young might get bored with this quick especially when there are so many more fancy ones out there that come with tones of bells and whistles. I will end it with explaining the one thing that I didn't like too much was when you slide the credit card, the cash register doesn't do anything. It doesn't open the cash register, and it doesn't even make a noise.
