In MacRaes mystery no...

In MacRae's mystery novel, Kath Rutledge's grandmother, Ivy has just passed away. Now home in Blue Plum, Tennessee to settle the estate, Kath learns that not only has she inherited her grandmother's fiber and fabric shop, but there's been a murder and it seems Ivy is the prime suspect. As Kath rallies her friends for help clearing Ivy's name, she encounters a depressed ghost who seems only to happy to hang around and play detective. With help at hand, Kath sets out to solve the case before settling into her future. A witty and entertaining mystery that keeps the reader guessing. A great introduction to the A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery series.

I LOVED Last Wool and ...

I LOVED Last Wool and Testament! Kath Rutledge returns home to Blue Plum, TN for her Grandmother Ivy McClellan's burial. She no more then gets back to town when she has a run in with a local deputy for speeding to make it to the burial on time. Everything goes down hill from there. She's in for many surprises! She receives a letter from her grandmother with news she did not expect& she finds she is locked out of her grandmother's house. A friend offer's her a house to stay in as long as she needs it. Then she finds out there was a man murdered in the house & her Grandmother is s suspect in the murder. Kath sets out to clear Ivy's name with the help of the TGIF (Thank Goodness is Fiber) Group from Weaver's Cat (the yarn shop her grandmother owned) and also with a little unexpected help from a friendly yet very depressed ghost. There are a lot of surprises in this book that kept me turning pages. I loved it. I love stories with ghost. I really admire Kath for the stregth she had to deal with the death of her Grandmother and all else she had to go through. She's an interesting charcter with a lot going on in her life. I can not wait to read the next book by Molly MacRae!

I know I started this ...

I know I started this book before, but I picked it up again since I couldn't remember how it ended. And now, having finished it, I think I started it but never finished it the last time I got it out of the library. Nothing from the middle half of the book on seemed familiar. This is a fun cozy mystery. However, don't expect the yarn content to be anything but superficial. Yes, it's the first in the "Haunted Yarn Shop" mystery series. But unlike some other fiber-oriented cozy mystery series, this book at least (I can't vouch for the rest of the series) only uses the yarn shop as a setting. It's still enjoyable, and the "haunted" part was certainly true (and fun). But don't expect much in the way of yarn in this one.

This story takes place...

This story takes place in Plum Creek, Tennessee where Kath Rutledge inherits her grandmother's fiber and fabric shop, The Weaver's Cat. This book is full of fun characters, it's well written, the mystery is well plotted, and has fun tidbits about fiber arts. This is the first in a series and a most enjoyable one at that. If you have some time and would like to escape for an afternoon or two then I highly recommend this most enjoyable book.
