Ladies' Night...Publishers Weekly,Grace Stanton's elegant lifestyle blog, Gracenotes, has grown into a lucrative business, thanks to her popular recipes and decorating and craft ideas, in Andrews's latest (after Spring Fever). But when she discovers that her husband and her assistant are having an affair, her life and career both collapse in a moment. Moving back in with her mother, Grace fights her husband, who's intent on betraying her further by locking her out of their house and seizing their bank accounts, taking control of Gracenotes, and sabotaging her online reputation. His bad behavior is aided and abetted by notorious woman-hating judge Stackpole, who does nothing to defend Grace and sends her to a divorce recovery group run by a hapless counselor. Grace quickly builds friendships with the members of her recovery group-and begins a romance with the sole male attendee. She also investigates the curious behavior of the judge and her counselor, and starts a new blog to document her stylish restoration of a Florida cottage. Bestseller Andrews is at the top of her game, delivering a smart, funny perfect-for-summer read with a hopeful heart. Agent: Stuart Krichevsky, the Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency. Nobody does revenge ...

Nobody does "revenge" fiction better than Mary Kay Andrews. The start of this book reminded me of Hissy Fit one of my favorite books by Ms. Andrews. The main character Grace finds her husband with her assistant in the garage. So she dumps the car in the pool and because of that has to go a divorce recovery group. There she meets others who have been ordered to attend the group by the same judge who sentenced her. Grace connects with the one man in the group, Wyatt who's wife has left him for a neighbor and is trying to get custody of their son. Grace starts to rebuild her life and further her relationship with Wyatt while dealing with her mother, the group members and of course the judge. Ms. Andrews did her usual great job writing a funny insightful story.

LADIES NIGHT by Mary K...

LADIES NIGHT by Mary Kay Andrews is an interesting contemporary romance. While, a rather large book, about 464 pages, the author does a great job,of moving the story quickly and keeping the reader intrigued. A tale of divorce, betrayal, and Ladies Night told with humor, maybe a bit of revenge and sweet justice is just what the ladies need. A large portion of this story takes place in a rundown, beach bar called The Sandbox, which Grace's mother owns. A place for healing, humor, forgiveness, finding closure and maybe love again. So you have to lift your glass to the ladies of LADIES NIGHT as they move to another chapter of their battered lives with a few twists and turns along the way. A great summer read! Written with depth, characters who are engaging as well as heart warming, and a plot that walks a line between happiness and past regrets. Received for an honest review from the publicist and the publisher. RATING: 4 HEAT RATING: SWEET REVIEWED BY: AprilR, Review courtesy of My Book Addiction and More

I had this sit on my TBR shelf for a little while, I always walked by and savored the fact I had a MKA on the shelf to read. When SAVE THE DATE came out I decided I didn't want to get too far behind. This was a fun quick read , loved the concept of a divorce recovery group with only one man! The book had nice bones, thru in some house recovery too, and an old Jungle Jerry's Birdland, I remember visiting these types of roadside exhibits in Florida when I was young. Good read.

Ladies Night is the p...

Ladies' Night is the perfect summer read! A group of people going through divorce are forced by a judge to attend mandatory counseling, run by a therapist who is actually no better off than the group. While the exorbitant weekly counseling sessions are of little or no benefit to the group, they work through their problems at their after-counseling sessions, "Ladies' Night," at a local pub. This book describes the many emotions of divorce - anger, frustration, sadness, jealousy, revulsion, but wonderfully reveals how the group works through these issues to rebuild their lives and move on to new chapters. Heaven forbid I should ever be in their shoes but if I were, I would want these characters helping me.I was thrilled when I began reading this book and realized the setting was at my yearly vacation spot for the past seven years, AMI. This was the first book I read by Mary Kay Andrews and she is definitely someone I'm going to add to my "to be read" list. I received a free copy of Ladies' Night through Goodreads FirstReads.
