Luverne 584088-570929 O-Mega II 6" x 88" Oval Steps Black Textured Powder Coat

I really like the versatility of these running boards. There is a lot of ability to adjust and make them sit exactly where you want. The step pads are also nicely aggressive and plant your foot well. But that's about where the good things end. There are really only two complaints. One, the hardware that you are supposed to attach the step pads with is kinda chincy. I understand that there are five screws per step but they are small and not stainless. Two, the “caps” on each end of the running boards are plastic. I know they will never corrode but for almost $800 I would have expected an aluminum cap. All in all, good but they missed the mark on some of the small details that some people might not even care about. But it's the small details that matter to most of us.

Purchased for a 2024 Ram 3500. Arrived quickly in two separate shipments due to length. Installation was fairly straightforward. Front brackets are tricky but similar to others I've installed. The rear brackets require loosening the front bolts that hold the leaf springs on. Not enough room for an impact tool and too low to get good leverage with a cheater bar. I ended up using my cheater bar on a floor jack and jacking up the end of the tool a little bit at a time until it was loose enough to turn by hand. The steps themselves are sturdy but scratch very easily. The extra attachable non-slip pads that come with them (3 per side) were stacked (2ea) on top of each other in box with no protection so the paint was rubbed and scratched on 3 of them. All in all, they are functional and look good but I feel like I've purchased cheap import steps before that were same quality for half the cost.
