Fantastic!
I bought this kit for myself during a work trip to Canada, where I got my first chance to visit an actual Lego store. A hand to all the sales people at the Lego store in Toronto's Sherway Gardens! I recently got back in to Lego after a long hiatus, having bought my last kits back in 1999 when the first Star Wars sets came out. This year with the new movie I got back into it and haven't looked back since. Getting the Slave 1 was a no-brainer as this is one of my all time favorite SW ships and I wanted to get the best there is, which this UCS model depicts. It's very detailed and an extremely enjoyable build and fantastic minifigures! I built mine spread out over maybe 6-7 nights, so it was a nice slow build. The only downside is that once you go big like this kit, you're not drawn to the small stuff anymore. This is also definitely not a play kit, as it's very big and the construction is a bit fiddly when it comes to some of the details like the underside engines and parts of the red "skirt" around the ship.

Missing parts
I was very impressed with Walmart speed in shipping the item and their packaging and the fact that they even had this in stock. Unfortunately it was missing a ton of parts!! And since it's lego I have to go through the mm to fix this matter. It has been a nightmare and extremely disappointing. But the matter has been resolved and hopefully the new one lego is giving us will be a winner.

LEGO Strikes Back

This UCS Slave I set was my triumphant return to the world of LEGO this week. My last set purchase and build was over 12 years ago, and consisted of a few Star Wars Episode I sets (7101, 7141, & 7151). I recently got the urge to return to this favorite childhood pastime , and I don't believe I could have chosen a better set to do so with. The level of detail and design that went into the 75060 set were impressive and showed me just how far LEGO has come in my absence. Despite my plan to finish the build over a few nights, I completed the build in a marathon 6 hour session - I got in the same focus zone that I used to building sets as a kid and didn't look at the clock until well after my usual grown-up bed-time. I probably could have finished faster, but I kept having to stop and just marvel at the ingenuity of the design. I love that it's a strong set that can be lifted - the unique shape is one you might think of as fragile if it were made as a model, but they did a nice job with the internal skeleton. Overall I would recommend this set to anyone. It looks great on my shelf and will look even better with all the other new sets I hope to acquire.

Nice Piece of Iron ya got there Boba...

I was never a Fan of the Slave one mainly because I thought it looked like something I would use to clean my car with-lol XD

Plus episode 6 didn't do Boba Fett any favors...(I'm still wondering how the writers of episode 6 sleep at night)

Anyways...Boba Fett and his Slave One really shine in Empire of episode 5 and to this date it's one of the most dramatic and beautiful films ever produced.

That being said..I am SO GLAD Lego did such a great Job on this Set!

If you are on the Fence like I was...I can tell you it's one of those builds you will Really appreciate and wonder why you even thought twice.

I'm not Sure how long it will be around till retirement...but if I were a betting man I'd say soon with all the set changes through May 4th and episode 8 around the corner, but I digress...you never know...however, I for one was not going to miss out.

I Definitely recommend this set!

What a birthday present!!

My 18 year old bought me this and I was blown away. She said I lit up like a 10 year old when I saw it so she had to get it.

I had a great time building this! I like the building techniques and the evolution of the build. It's so much bigger than I thought it would be. I had the dimensions of course, but you really have to see it in person. I'd recommend it to any Star Wars or Lego fan.

Put Captain Solo in the Cargo Hold

Given the slightly hefty price tag and sheer size of this beast it is definitely more for the full on collector. However that being said this is an amazing addition to any collection, because of its larger size the level of detail is incredible, it was great fun to build and actually found myself taking a lot more time than i normally would to stretch out the build time. obviously the play-ability of this set is very low, its big bulky and heavy but again...more of a display piece. Excellent kit all round and would recommend any collector to go out and buy this

My new favorite

Okay so I'm not really a die hard Star Wars fan, I like the movies and vehicles but don't own many SW sets. This was my first UCS set I decided to purchase cause I really like Boba Fett and was curious what Lego can do in this price range.

As soon as I finished assembling it I felt that I made a mistake because now I totally have to buy all the available UCS sets. This set in my opinion is one of the best Lego has to offer and one of best sets of all time. The proportions, the size and details are perfect compared to the in movie ship. An amazing variety of building techniques were used. But you really have to see and build it for yourself to appreciate the amount of work and love that was put into this set.

Now this is definitely no toy or playset. There are a couple of play features but the thing is so heavy and robust that you'll have a very hard time trying to fly it around or play with it. It was absolutely designed to be a display and I don't have a problem with that. There are a few stickers of course some of them can be tricky to apply but it's the only negative I could mention.

Minifigures are average, Boba Fett himself is of course excellent, but otherwise you get a generic Stormtrooper, a Bespin Guard and Han Solo both in minifig and in carbonite.

To wrap it up I absolutely recommend this set to anyone who like Star Wars and would like to build an iconic ship and have fun in the process.

Super fun and amazing!

This set was super cool! One of the best sets i've gotten in a long time. One part that really stood out was how the top connects to the bottom, and how the technic pieces are all angled in different directions to achieve that slight slope on top. I really like that they made an exclusive cockpit piece for this, because I think it matches the ships profile. I also like how you build the bottom red part in two pieces, and they connect with the rest of the ship. The stand was interesting to build because how the technic pieces fit into one another. I also didn't know how the two pieces jutting out was going to hold up this colossal set, because it is all the way at the bottom, but it did! A few complaints I have are that when you set the ship on it's stand, it covers the plaque a little bit. Also, the wings get stuck sometimes when I try to turn it, but it might be something that I messed up. I really liked this set. Like I mentioned earlier, this set is HUGE. I almost didn't have enough room to build it on my table. When I finished it, I was kind of disappointed, because it was so much fun to make. Happy building!

A Must Have (especially for SW Fans)

This set was a joy to build. I have to admit that my reasons for purchasing were about 65% because there was Han Solo in carbonite, 20% for Boba Fett, and 15% for Slave 1. The instructions and the building experience were great. It was nice that the instructions were all part of one book and not multiple books. I have read of many people complaining about the stand that holds up the ship, but I found that mine works well and my ship does not fall off once it is properly set up. Everything stays together well except for a couple pieces that connect the underside of the wings to the ship (they are the pieces that have 2 vent pieces connecting them together. These continually fall off. Hope this helps, I would definitely buy this if you were considering it while it last.

PRIZED ASSET

I am a dedicated Star Wars UCS Collector and this is my review.... Manuel....I wasn't sure at first with the dark background but it actually works really well....you can tell the dark grey from light grey very easily and a great idea from the design team +++ Design...It is a really great show piece and very detailed. The display stand is brilliant and works really well +++ Build...Fantastic to build with great colour and extremely well put together....nothing “falls off” +++ Overall....It is a truly great Star Wars Lego Set and I totally recommend it.....my only very slight disappointment (being really picky) is that it is a real shame it wasn't in the 16+ category the size of the original Falcon with over 5,000 pieces....I am waiting with my mouse over the “buy” for the next 16+ 5,000 piece set from Star Wars!!!!!

"SPACESHIP!!!!!"

There's no doubt about it; this iconic ship is sculpture. I love this new (at least to me) approach to building, using technic skeletons in clever ways and skinning it with (mostly) stud-less paneling, is the right way to go. I particularly liked the ball joints (and clip pieces) used to connect the side panels of the ship to the hull. Using the small arms to swing out the hidden weapons is also a great idea. One modification I would have liked to see, but will probably try on my own anyway, is using frictionless pins for the swinging pilot's seat and adding a weight of some sort to the back end of the seat so that it too would swing into the correct orientation of flight or landing mode like the wings do. As it is now, if you switch out the black pins on either side of the pilot's seat with the light grey frictionless pins, the weight of the seat's instruments bricks swings it forward and it rests upside down. Certainly a small modification to that would make it swing as the wings do.
