secure and convienient
I upgraded my deadbolt to the Powerbolt2 after replacing my front door handleset which went bad. I just wished i ugraded a long time ago. Having the electronic deadbolt is so convient and easy to own. I never have to worry about forgetting keys. I am also very happy with Kwikset's customer service amd their product warranty. I had issues with my kwikset handle set as i stated earlier, Kwikset took care of my faulty product and replaced it within 2 days. I am definately a customer for life. Second failed lock in less than 3 months!
I'm so frustrated with Kwikset keyless deadbolts. Bought the first one 10/5/15. It failed and could not be reprogrammed exactly one month later. Keypad flashed red, bolt will not extend, even with the key. No way to lock my door. After attempting for hours to reset & reprogram the lock set, I finally took that lock back to Home Depot and got another? That was 11/5/15. Now, not even two months later, the replacement lock will not extend the bolt. I followed the limited troubleshooting instructions, and still it wouldn't lock. Finally in a last ditch effort, I removed the batteries. After reinstalling them I was able to reprogram the codes in the lock and it works. Not sure that I feel comfortable relying on this lock. What if it does this again when I do not have hours to mess with it? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Love it!

I have this lock on my front door and love it. Wanted the same on my new security screen door. I don't have to carry my keys with me and that's a definite plus!

Easy to use!

We loved this product so much we tell everyone we know to get one. Now I don't have to ever worry about me or my children being locked from the house. And no keys when I go jogging!

Enhancement Suggestion

Very good product; programming instructions very vague. The instruction manual included in the box were generic and not specific to the exact model. They were thrown away along with the original box- noting that there is a handy programing how to on the inside of the battery cover so no need to keep paper around right? 8 months later it was necessary to change the code. The instruction sticker on the inside battery cover is a bit confusing to read in a sort of table format which can be subjective in interpretation. In addition, it seems the instruction sticker was not for my model since it differed by 2 different steps. The steps are critical. After 4 hours of fiddling about and searching online, I finally determined the model number and found the very comprehensive instructions and YouTube instructional videos on Kwik Set's website which allowed me to successfully update my codes. My suggestions: 1. Ensure the correct instructional manual is included in the box 2. Ensure the correct instructional sticker on the battery box is included 3. Most importantly: engrave or sticker the actual model number of the lock on the lock itself somewhere. There is a sticker inside the lock stating: "Model: PLP". This is not the model number of the lock but the model number of the electronic grid included in the lock. The only way I was able to determine the correct model number was by comparing the shape of the product with other model numbers and comparing the written instructions between the models. The models have different instructions and the programming instructions are indeed critical. The big difference between the Powerbolt 2 Model 907 and many other models is the 907 has a 'reset' button and not a 'program' button. Other than that frustration; the product is solid.

Love the Electronic Deadbolt

It was easy to install, but had to request the correct part for my door. East to use and install. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Good Lock

I installed this for a cottage that I rent out for short-term. It was easy to install and works well. But the code change process is a bit more cumbersome than Kwikset 909 which I also have for other properties. I purchased this because I thought the code change process would be the same since it is the same brand but not so. Other than that it is a good lock. Could be a little better

Was a little difficult to set-up. The auto-lock doesn't work, tried will all the different settings.

Risky

Well it looks good, I like that you can reproduce your own keys but you must close it manually because the auto shutting is not reliable and shuts automatically 7 out of 10 times. you have to enter codes more then once. Manually it works fine but with keypad I would not advise it.

Would not program

Bought this yesterday, installed easy but would NOT program. Gave us the green light for each section of programming but when it came time to apply the user code, it just wouldn't lock or unlock. Went back the next day after a frustrating Saturday.
