I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, for the money I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I surprised. I own vintage Fenders and Gibsons, and no, this really doesn't compare to those. But for what you would pay for a vintage instrument you could buy a house full of these. I was going to give this to my niece, who wants to learn guitar. Well I guess I'll have to get another one for her. And maybe a couple more for me so I have one in each color. Is it perfect, well no. But plays well out of the box. The setup was fine for my taste, RARE is the guitar I don't have to adjust to my liking. The pickups are good but I will likely replace them at some point. Not because there's anything wrong with them, but I can put some different pickups in that sound like the ones you might find in a more expensive instrument. And wind up with a great playing and sounding guitar for not a lot of money. I would compare this to any Asian or Mexican Fender or Squier. You would pay 3 or 4 times as much, or more, for that name on the headstock and not really wind up with a better instrument. Invest $150-200 in some different pickups, and you have a guitar that can compare favorably with much more expensive American guitars. I will definitely be buying a couple more of these, wife permitting.
