wonder if the two red lights ever go off when charged or do the turn green

  • A. No, the red lights do not go off or turn green. That feature would definitely be more helpful. You have to use the chart included in the manual to determine how many hours your type of batteries should be charged. Mine were 12-16 hours, I believe. You have no way of knowing that they are fully charged!

  • A. The operating instructions state: "The charge indicator lights will remain on during charging. They will turn off only when the charger is unplugged or the batteries are removed". So, I guess it's up to us to decide if the batteries are charged! The light stays on! Maximum charging time is 15 hours, so I guess we're supposed to charge them well beyond overnight to make sure the batteries are fully charged.

  • A. The lights never turn green. They stay red so you never really know when your batteries, if ever, get charged. Mine never did. I just returned it and now use regular batteries instead.

  • A. you can buy one for the camera if it didn't come with the charger and special batteries, but i'd recommend that you don't get the Kodak one i've had problems with it, just get another brand recharger and good rechargeable lithium ion batteries. there are several brands....

  • A. camera comes with regular batteries. you can buy Kodak charger and batteries. Don't do it. Batteries take 15 hours to recharge. The case fits the camera well but it doesn't have extra pocket for more batteries. I bought a charger that has 4 batteries and a car charger. Then I bought a nice case.

Beware! Not for ALL Kodak C Series Cameras

The batteries in this kit are 1.2 volt power rechargeable type. The batteries supplied with the camera are 1.5 volt alkaline batteries, which allows you to power up the camera when you first receive it. The power needed to supply the Kodak Easyshare C183 camera is 3.0 volts from 2 AA 1.5 volt batteries. You then insert the rechargeable batteries from this kit and you find they don't have the power to turn on the camera. The two batteries in this kit are 1.2 volt so you don't have the power needed to power on the camera. The description for this kit needs to be updated to reflect the power supply. Also the C Series cameras need an update the their descriptions. I would NEVER have purchased this kit if the power supply for the camera was known and I saw that the power for the batteries was not sufficient. A bad experience, which shall require a trip to the store to return the battery charging kit.

Great Batteries For the Picture Taker
12/19/2010

Customer review by Dallas2001

It is as good as my normal batteries when charged but only better since you don't have to discard them. I have only charged my batteries one time for 8 hours and haven't had to recharge them again. I've been playing with this camera for well over a week now and quite heavily too, I might add. Most other cameras I have had in the past such as Canon & Coolpix had batteries that died on me within a day or two. However Kodak has made these batteries for the active picture taker. That is really great for teens; or people who are taking classes in photography; or even tourists.

I ordered 2 of these for my daughters to use with the digital cameras they got for Christmas. It says you have to charge the batteries for 12 1/2 hours. I charged them for the appropriate time and then put them in the camera. One of them was only charged 1/2 way and the other was only charged 1/4 of the way. I put them back on the charger and still got the same results. I tried charging them for 24 straight hours, and got the same results. I had to return them.

The Charger was a good value for the money. The carry bag was very cheap. It was also missing the tab on the zipper on the bag.

it works but it does not stop charging the batteries when they are charged. So i guess you could over charge your batts and ruin them. you have to remember when to remove then 15 hours later. i thought it would be an auto charge.

The charger doesn't do the one job it's meant for: charging the batteries! The directions state that both lights will light when charging two batteries, and full charging time is about 15 hours. I am attempting to charge the two Kodak batteries that were supplied with the kit. Only one light is lit, and the batteries have been "charging" well over 15 hours (try 4 days).
