I love this camera! It takes great close ups of flowers that are crisp and clear. There are so many different photo shooting options: landscape; panorama; portrait; and the list goes on! I would recommend this camera, but also that you take the time to learn how to use it before taking it out, to make sure you can get the best picture quality. Another thing you might want to invest in is a tripod. To use the camera's zoom to its fullest, it isn't clear, and for the sunset and fireworks settings the camera suggests using a tripod. Overall though, it is a wonderful camera that takes excellent pictures!

Well worth the money
Great camera for a beginner. Met all my expectations and then some. Has all the features I was looking for and at a price I could afford. Will take a while to learn to use all the features but that's part of the fun. Have shot over 200 pics with the batteries that were included with the camera and they still have life left in them. I only wish it came with a printed manual, instead of a disc, so I could have it with me to refer to while away from my computer. It's 95 pages and my printer is low on ink, so I guess it has to wait until my next trip to Walmart! My daughter loves it so much she is ordering one for herself.
10 yr old loves it
My 10 year old bought this for herself. She is very into photography and i figured before we get into the removable lens cameras lets try a simple digital camera. Well so far this camera has proven to be pretty awesome. She takes it with her every where she can. She is always snaping pictures of nature and people. She still has alot to learn about photography but think she made a great choice for a first time camera. It has several features like Panama etc. She can edit photos on her camera she loves that. I like it enough to ask to borrow it from time to time of course i use the auto setting lol. Great camera for the price but kodak has always been a great brand
So far it is a very nice camera!
I am still learning all the features this camera offers. Most of the time the pictures were clear. There were times when pictures were out of focus or grainy, but I believe it was my fault because I did not hold the camera steady or I used the maximum digital zoom. However, I had problems focusing beyond 16X when using alkaline batteries. I bought rechargeable NIMH 1350 mAh batteries and I did not have the focusing problem anymore. I think I will buy 2400 mAh batteries the next time. I brought the camera on sale for $112, I think it was a steal. By the way, you will have to read the manual very carefully (included on a disk) to learn all the functions of this camera.
Very nice camera
This camera has everything I wanted, takes great pictures, has a high number of megapixels and zoom (compared to others I've had), and easy to use & understand. THE ONLY THING I DO NOT LIKE about it is the fact that it runs on BATTERIES!!! My old camera and most others have rechargeable batteries. You just plug them in to your computer or wall outlet. NOPE. This one takes four AA batteries! The only time that might be good is if you're out in the wilderness.
Feeling uneasy about this camera
Just to be clear, I would recommend this to a friend if they didn't want to take night shots or anything close up. I've had this camera for over a year, but I had two cameras, one was a Kodak Z915 Easy Share which I've had for many years. My little Z915 was a very good point and shoot camera with a fabulous optical zoom of X10. It took great pictures, but after about 4 or five years, it broke. Which was too bad because when my AZ251 didn't work right, I simply used my Z915. So I was solely dependent on the AZ251. I guess I like the point and shoot cameras with not a lot of learning and guesswork as there is in the AZ251 because I simply can't get a good picture with it unless it's a panorama picture because it captures so much more than I want it to. Maybe I'm writing this review out of sheer frustration. I took my camera out last night to photograph THE Harvest Moon Eclipse. I walked outside and there was a fantastic blood-red moon all ready for picture taking. Well, I put my camera on "night portrait", zoomed it in a bit to get a better effect, aimed it at that beautiful moon with it's reddish glow with black cloud-like shadows floating over it - a magnificent picture in the making. Well, it would have been anyway, but the camera simply would not capture the moon. In fact, all I got was a black screen. There were millions of big, beautiful, glittering diamond-like stars in the sky, which were super-bright because the light of the moon was obstructed by the earth's shadow. But did my camera capture any of this gorgeous celestial show? NO, all I got was a black screen. So I missed out a spectacular event because my camera was not cooperating. It must have "seen" something because the "use a tripod" sign kept coming on when my hands started shaking from sheer frustration. I should have tried to capture the moon with my Android phone camera. It probably would have gotten something wonderful.
Waste of Money!!!!!!
I bought this camera to replace an old point and shoot Fuji (a 7.1 megapixel 10 optical zoom) which I bought in 2007. This kodak camera is awful!! When I used the optical zoom I couldn't make out anything in the photo. It is the worst camera I have ever owned!! The description of the camera was way to good to be true! I have owned it less than 3 days and will be returning!!!
