A top value, but cover is overpriced
This is a really good deal. They now ship version 2, which has improvements, and Overdrive capability. I really love being able to check books out from my local library through Overdrive. The other readers can have difficult DRM controls, and won't accept some formats of books you want to load on yourself. This reader does do that. I find it works best with free Caliber software, which syncs with it easily. I am using it with Linux now, but Caliber is also on Windows. I have owned the B

Do not buy KOBO!
Poor customer service when the device stops working **due to software updates**. If the product is more than 1 year old, the warranty is void and KOBO will offer little to remedy the situation. After 3 weeks of countless emails, phone calls, reinstalling software, etc I was finally informed that my device stopped working because it was "no longer supported by software updates". Software updates I was instructed to do by a KOBO agent. I should have been told this earlier, saving myself (12+) hours of frustration and fruitless attempts to 'repair' the issue with my device. IMO, a courtesy email should have been sent to customers informing them that their products would no longer be supported. Following a KOBO agents instructions, I also reset the device only to have *all content* deleted, including the pre-installed classic novels. My KOBO is now completely useless. Not only am I unable to sync books from my library, the pre-installed novels have now been removed as well. After finally speaking to a 'supervisor', I was told the best they could do was offer me a coupon for $20 off, only valid towards 1 specific KOBO device. This coupon was sent to me via email and upon reading the email, I noted that it was towards a REFURBISHED product. A key point the supervisor failed to mention when he made the offer. A discount towards another defective product? No thanks, I already have my own. With so many other ereaders on the market, save your time and money.... avoid KOBO products!

Very happy!

I had high expectations for this product and it met them. It fits on your palm and it's very light. What really pleases me is the e-ink (?) technology that is really easy on the eye and yet there is a backlight system that comes handy on a flight. I should have bought it sooner!

Love this eReader

I'm an avid reader and always thought I'd really prefer conventional books but the Kobo has won me over. It was really easy to get it up and running (I am over 70). It's convenient to be able to browse the excellent selection of books whenever the mood strikes. I can read in bed all night if I want and I don't disturb my husband who can't sleep with a light on. I love the way it keeps my place in a book. I like the small size - easily fits in my purse, I take it with me everywhere. I keep the books that I've enjoyed and I might reread them in a few years. I've run out of space to keep said books, I understand this Kobo will hold a couple thousand book! I would recommend this little gem to anyone who enjoys reading!

EXCELLENT READER

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my mother and found it so easy to use I had to buy another one for myself. A must buy for someone who you know that enjoys reading. There are lots of Facebook groups that will help you with this reader how to import your books and where to purchase your books. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! 8)

Excellent starter eReader

Very good ereader for the price. Excellent quality. The Sleepcover adds extra weight but it feels secure and durable.

So far so good

This is the second Kobo reader I have bought. If this lasts as long as my old one it will be great.
