Poor quality

Whip prong broke after 3 uses. It can’t be repaired due to design. Other than that, I love the mixer.

Not Stainless Steel

Exactly what hundreds of people have claimed about this 6-wire whip and the inferior finish that has been applied. This is not a completely stainless steel model that KitchenAid claims it is. The shiny metal plating that was indeed on this product out of the box is now completely gone after a few washes, resulting in a gray powder that flakes off into the mixer. What kind of inferior metal is this? Not recommended as a standard utensil attachment for any kitchen. I want a full refund immediately!

Chipping Nylon Coating

The dough hook works great. I use it for making bread most weekends, and have for almost five years, when we received our KitchenAid KSM150PS (Pistachio Green!). A few weeks back I noticed what looked like egg shells in my dough. Turns out it was nylon coating from the hook. It is now chipping and coming off at an accelerate rate. I can't use the dough hook any more. I would prefer an all metal version, that I don't have to worry about stuff chipping off into my food. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Black Residue and Cracked

The mixer is 6 months old, Christmas gift, and this is the first time we used the wire whisk. All we did is use it to make whip cream. The connector of the whisk, where it connecters to the mixer, has a lot of black residue and it has a crack in it right along the top rim. Would love to start using it more often but worried that it will end up in pieces in the bowl while being used. Is there going to be a better model of this whisk coming out soon? paint is falling off my dough hook

As many others i have also experienced the paint chipping off. I bake bread about 2-3 times a month and have used it for about 1-2 years. My main problem is getting paint chips in my bread. there is about 2-3 square cm of paint missing on the hook. I assume it is in my stomach now. I expected higher quality of a machine in this price range. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Corrodes in the dishwasher

Corrodes in the dishwasher and leaves dark gray smears on your hands, dishtowels, and in your food. Find a stainless steel version if you can, and let me know what it is. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Chipped again

Another chipped dough hook ruins a batch. I was getting the dough off with a silicon spatula and heard it hit the bowl and then saw it. This was the second time this has happened. There should be a recall. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Chipped enamel!

Like so many others on here, my dough hook has a lot of chips in it! I can't believe the product is poorly made and so many of us are unfortunately eating this enamel. When will kitchen aid improve upon this??? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Mine Too

Looks my dough hook is the same as everyone else's, as the coated finish has begun flaking off. I am in agreement that a non-coated version would be the way to go. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Paint in food = MAJOR health concerns

Seriously Kitchenaid? Clearly, you could care less about carcinogenics being released by your products into your customer's food. I have had my mixer for over a decade. The first hook that came with my mixer was unusable due to all the paint that would come off in my dough. After being tired of hand kneading doughs I purchased a new dough hook, figuring that 10+ years later, I would not have the same issue. WRONG!! After two uses paint chipped off into my dough. The hook was washed in cold water, no dishwasher. Can someone that actually gives a hoot look at the reviews from your own website about this issue? Or will it take someone getting cancer and tracing it back to you to make a change? Utterly deplrorable Kithenaid! As for me, I'm done. I am buying a Cuisinart.
