It does require assembly, but the instructions are very easy to follow and the hardware is in a very convenient and organized plastic box.

Are the plastic bins included with the table and chairs or sold seperately?

Yes, it doesn't take up much space. It is not bulky at all. It is just the perfect size for toddlers arts and craft projects

The seated part of the chair fits under the table just fine, and the back of the chairs sit flush. Just like you'd expect for a table. Be sure to note the measurements of the table if you have limited space. I found it to be bigger than I had expected from the photos, but the measurements are accurate.
