    • A. No, this keyboard is not wireless the reason being the scanner needs power. In the future we may look into this option but as of now, you need the usb cable and the power cable to run the device. It doesnt really matter though if its wireless or not, you can hook it up to your laptop anywhere. I use mine on business trips in coffee shops, airports, where ever you go its easy to use.

Will this be able to scan a trading card without bending the card?

    • A. Yes, pages are not bent when feeding. However, there may be limits on the thickness of card stock. Business cards feed okay, and are not pulled all the way through, but reverse, and exit the same feed port.

    • A. Yes, this device will be able to scan a trading card without bending the card. The device has a smart feature where it will detect the size of the document you are scanning and a trading card is small enough so it will scan and come back out the top. Scans are in a straight line and they do not curve or bend a trading card.

    • A. The KeyScan device scans documents up to 8 1/2x 30 inch to a 1mm thick plastic card such as a license. You cannot scan a credit card since the numbers on the card are raised. You can also scan photos, receipts, anything you can think of basically. It is a great device and you will love it once you start to use it.

KeyScan Imaging Keyboard - a great product

The KeyScan Imaging-Keyboard is a fast USB2 scanner. Color, 600 dot per inch with integrated USB2 hub (2 downstream ports) very different from any other scanner. It comes bundled with the unique KeyScan NoTouch-AutoScan software, while with other scanners you must touch or click buttons to get scanning into required function, with KeyScan NoTouch you simply place the document on the feeding tray and it will scan and feed it into a default function setting while giving you the option to interrupt and get it into other function of you choice.

I love this scanner! I wanted one of the expensive, stand-up kind vs. the old desktop-consuming flatbed one I had. But, once I priced them, I didn't want to spend the near $250 price tag. I read the reviews and took a chance on this $88 design. LOVE IT! Read the quick guide as you install it. Make sure your cord is FULLY inserted into the back of the keyboard - I was certain mine was, but when the computer wouldn't recognize the scanner, I thought "Here we go..." Reading the TroubleShooting section made me check the cord. You will also notice a green light in the paper slot come on briefly when the cord in plugged it. Drivers licenses scan, but not perfectly. Due to the gloss, give it a shove to get through. Video tuts on the CD. LOVE the automatic PDF scanning option. Make the document seachable! And, I don't see any reason you couldn't scan as many docs as you wanted in a day. Running on XP Home with Service Pack 2. Wireless mouse works great with it, and my Linksys wireless USB internet "thingy" works great plugged into the back of the keyboard. (Okay, I'm done...)

This is a good scanner for home use. The copies are clear and this provides agreat tool for eliminating hard copies of documents. When you are installing this you must follow the instruction in the exact order listed, or it is harder to set up. Based on my usage, their are, in my opinion, some minor design flaws, that make the scanner use frustrating at times. The feed table appears to need widening an small amount. When Feeding 8.5 inch paper, the papers often gets stuck, when ejecting single sheets. To eliminate this, I had to remove the left feed guide. Once removed the feeding and eject process worked fine. The scanner sets to close to the desk top, often causing the scanned document to bind, resulting a blurred input. I had to put a .5 inch block under the bottom of the scanner to prevent the paper binding between the desk top and the scanner bottom. This has solved the problem for me. After these "Rube Goldberg" modification, the scanner is great.

    * Full size USB keyboard with good resolution built-in page scanner. * Requires external power from a 110V wall transformer, 7 V output. * Software that is included is old version, and update must be downloaded from KeyScan website to work. Otherwise it won't calibrate. * Directions say to use A4 paper, but ok to use 8.5X11. * Serial number is required, located on CD sleeve, don't loose it. * Load page up, and face up. * Has ability to auto-load paper, OCR text, pdf, jpg, tiff, etc... Lots of features in software. * Sheet feed only, won't scan bound pages or heavy stock paper. * Be sure to setup scanner before you need it, takes longer than expected to setup. Works good after that.

I wanted a scanner to go completely 100% paperless. All my receipts, business cards, bills, etc. When they come in, I wanted to scan and shred. I started looking at scanners and found they were all $100 on up. I could not find anything I liked. Then I came across the Keyscan. It was on sale for $79. I got one delivered yesterday. I did have some issues setting it up and getting the settings correct, but if you are patient and take your time, you should be ok. This is the best purchase I think I have made in a long time. I scanned so many bills and receipts yesterday and only had a few issues. I say, if you are trying to get organized, this is the tool for you. Pro's: The Price, The quality, the ease of use (once you get it set up) and does not take up any extra room on your desk than a normal keyboard. Cons: The set up, the settings. They need to be a bit more user friendly. Once you understand them and have it set up the way you want, the unit is great. My only concern at this point is longevity. I hope this scanner last for at least 3 to 5 years. I have no idea how it will fair out after I put 1000 documents through it. Bottom line: It is worth every penny.

At first I wasn't sure what to expect from this product, but let me tell you, wow, it delivers. I heard about the product on www.scanrightnow.com it shows the product working and tells about how it works. I have been using it for around a month now every day and it has worked perfect. Great for receipts, pictures, or homework for the kids. Perfect for the office as well, I use mine for my at home business daily. There are alot of scanners on the market that are price much higher than this item that do not deliver. This one is a go ahead from me to any customers thinking about buying the product its amazing pick one up you will not be disappointed. thanks.

Our company depends on quality computers and accesories so I'll be the first to admit I was somewhat skeptical about this product. I decided to give it a try. It only took a few minutes to hook the USB cable up to a 2.0 hub in the back of my computer, but we had a little accident and when I started to install the software and drivers, I found the activation code had been destroyed. At 9:00p.m. I emailed customer support about my situation and much to my surprise, received an answer back along with a new activation code......all within less than 20 minutes. THAT'S SERVICE! I finished my installation, plugged in the power supply to the scanner and the rest is history. The keyboard alone is worth more than $99, but when you get a built-in color scanner that will scan in upto 600 dpi and convert to a PDF, MS WORD, EXCEL, OCR, and more......that's a bargain! It has only one fault that I can see in the fact that it only scans one side at a time, but since you can send your scan directly to a printer, email directly to a friend, or save to a file on the hard drive more than makes up the difference. Follow the simple instructions, set it up for auto scan and happy scanning.

I bought one of these for the office and since then almost everyone wants them -- I order them 3 at a time. We have 11 so far, only problem in 2+ years is one bad power supply, which the company replaced in 2 days, no proof of anything needed. The new driver's licenses in Florida look like a blob if you copy them, but using this scanner they look like the actual license. This is not the scanner to use if you want to archive 30 page documents every day. You can scan multi-page documents to a single pdf file painlessly but it's somewhat slow. Primarily, we use these to email invoices and shipping documents to our customers. We finally can offer something so convenient to our customers without taking any extra time from our staff. It sure is faster than faxing to them! Without ever getting up from their desks, without taking more than an extra inch for the keyboard size, my staff can email any document, any card, any ID in full color pdf anywhere in the world. A note about how this scanner handles documents. If you have a wrist rest, you'll have to move it when you scan paper because the paper feeds out under the keyboard's bottom edge - by the space bar. There is no paper guide there, the keyboard is just raised slightly off the desk. ID's, business cards, plastic cards like AAA membership - they feed in the top slot and they pop straight back up. The scanner is a straight path and doesn't damage or catch on cards or documents. The feeder is surprisingly robust. The oldest of these that we have is the previous model, it is the same but doesn't handle cards. It is used a few times per day and I've never done maintenance or had an issue with it. I should probably check how to clean it someday !!

    Go Paperless

I actually purchased this keyboard to replace the one I had which I wore out at work. As a bookkeeper for a tax firm I do record keeping for 15 clients. Three years ago the company decided to go paperless and purchased 5 of these. What a great investment. No need to clutter your desk with external scanners, this one does it all; as a fully functioning keyboard it will scan both black and white documents, it's easy to set up (remember to install it as administrator) and once you get the hang of it, you'll be glad to save yourself all of those full files. This will scan everything from full size standard paper to drivers licenses, receipts and even business cards. Along with all of it's usefulness they also have a great customer service department should you have any questions or need help in it's use. I highly recommend the KeyScan imaging keyboard.

WOW! This was by far the best item I've purchased to date. Where have you been all my life!!! This product is so efficient and the keyboard is an upgrade from your standard no frills keyboards. The only recommendation I can make is that before installation, you make sure you have an outlet that will fit the huge power cord (you know the one with the big hump). I found this out when it was time to connect the power cord and of course, I had to remove other power cords from my surge protector which in turn shut down the computer while I was in the middle of installing the keyscan software. HOWEVER, not all was lost. My device application found the new hardware and installed the drivers and app correctly. Didn't miss a step! If you are looking for a product that can scan papers and photos then this is the BEST!!!!
