Rear water tank
I love this duo brewer! It's just like a regular carafe coffee maker on one side and then a traditional Keurig on the other. It brews rather quickly on both sides. So, far it's operation has been great. My only cons for this product are that the water tank is on the back side. I have to pull out the entire machine and either turn it or lift it up over to refill. Also, for the first few brews, the brew sounds were rather loud until it got "broken in." Overall, I'm rather impressed with this Keurig Duo!

Innovation that DOES NOT excite!
I've had the good luck to review the Keurig K-Duo and the Keurig 2.0 (in the past) as a Spark Review member. Well, I must say that I have the same sentiments for the K-Duo as the 2.0: disappointment. Make sure you run the Keurig with plain water a few times before you start brewing coffee. It'll take out the plastic taste in the coffee maker itself. Here are my pros and cons: PROS: -looks fancy (you and your friends will say, "WOW!") -can use it for single serve or multi cups -can control the strength of the coffee in the single cup through 8-10-12 oz servings -brews quickly -single serve function – brew whatever flavor you like CONS: -hefty… not easy to move around -takes up a lot of space on the counter -difficult to reach the reservoir, since it is hefty -difficult to dump out the water in the reservoir since it's hefty (I don't like the water sitting in the reservoir for days since it can start to grow mold) -difficult to clean, since it's hefty (did I mention "hefty" too many times?) -cannot brew coffee in the carafe and use the single cup function at the same time -no OFF button (that I know of or I don't know if you can just leave it and the light will go off), must unplug -single cup tastes weak (although you can control whether you want 8,10, or 12 oz), just like the 2.0 model -the carafe holds 8-12 cups of coffee (too much for the single coffee drinker in the house) CONCLUSION: I will stick to my mini 4-cup brewer. It makes the coffee quickly, the coffee tastes great, and I can control the strength without wasting.

Carafe or single brew = awesome

The Keurig K-Duo Essentials Single Serve & Carafe Coffee Maker in black looks stylish and impressive on the kitchen counter. But it's performance is what will truly make the difference for you. If you've ever owned a Keurig, then you know how fun and easy great coffee can be. This new Keurig is even more so, because you can brew up to 12 cups of coffee directly into the carafe. Set up is so easy! Just unpack, rinse the carafe and water reservoir and fill. Run a one time cleansing cycle for the carafe or single cup. The coffee is perfect. I love how the machine is large but doesn't take up a lot of counter space. I use filtered water to cut down on the possibility of scaling buildup.

We’re so glad to hear that you’re enjoying your K-Duo Essentials coffee maker! Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. Happy brewing!

Keurig k duo-the best for coffee lovers

The keurig k duo is one coffee maker that can make kcup coffee and brew a carafe of coffee. This is a great space saver to have 2 in 1. The coffee maker has a nice black finish. The reservoir is large (60 oz)and allows for more cups of coffee between refilling which I love. The carafe holds up to 12 cups. It also has a pause function to pour a cup before it's done brewing. The coffee maker has an add water light. There is a power on button for single cup with kcup pods and another power button for carafe. The buttons have pictures on them to easily identify them. For single cups you can brew 8, 10 or 12 oz. For the carafe you can brew 8, 10 or 12 cups. The buttons are labeled with numbers and work for both the k-cup and carafe. The coffee stays hot in the carafe after brewing. It brews quickly and coffee was great. The single cup side is large enough for my travel mug to fit under which is great. Kpod works great and didn't spatter coffee on my counter like my small keurig does. I absolutely love this coffee maker. I definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your K-Duo coffee maker. We appreciate the feedback! Enjoy!

Exactly What I Was Wishing For!

I chose this Keurig K-Duo Coffee Maker as part of Walmart's Spark Review Program. It couldn't have been offered at a more perfect time, as I had another coffee maker that didn't even last me a year. I was so impressed by this product and all the free samples of coffee that came with it. It seems like coffee is used either by the gallon around here...or some days it is just me making a single cup...so this coffee maker is my dream coffee maker! I had heard so many good things about Keurig that I could not wait to begin using it and ran out for more K-cups in a variety of choices. I really like that you can make either a full carafe in your choice of 8, 10, or 12 cups or use the K-cups to make either 8, 10, or 12 oz. at a time. If you use the K-cups for coffee and want a larger cup of coffee, I would recommend using a bolder roast coffee; otherwise, a milder or medium-brew coffee might be too weak if you want 12 oz. Personally, I love, chai tea latte in the evening and occasionally in the morning. I would really appreciate it if Keurig would make a stronger K-cup for chai tea that would allow you to make 12 oz. Right now, if I want a larger cup, I have to make two separate cups and then combine them. This coffee maker is very easy to use and to keep clean. I haven't had to do any major cleaning on it yet...just a quick emptying of the grounds and a wipe down. I know that with other coffee makers, I would have some build-up from the water to scale off periodically. I see that Keurig makes its own de-scaling solution. A friend of mine swears by using vinegar instead. I may try that first. So far, no problems. I just rinse out the machine and carafe every evening so that it is clean and set for the next morning. I have no doubt that this item is going to be a great seller for Walmart. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

We’re so glad to hear that you’re enjoying your Keurig! Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. Happy brewing!

An awesome Coffee Maker!

I have the Keurig K-Duo Essentials single serve and carafe coffee maker that is sold only at Walmart. This is the coolest thing ever and will fit your needs in multiple situations. This unit can be used to make a carafe of eight, ten, or twelve cups using a scoop of your favorite ground coffee. Or you may choose to use the single serve typical Keurig option and make only one cup of either eight, ten, or twelve ounces using your favorite K-cup pod. The unit has a heating plate that keeps the glass carafe warm and there is a neat pause and pour feature that will allow you to get a cup while it is brewing preventing the need to wait. The unit features a sixty ounce removable reservoir to hold your water that is shared between the two ways of brewing the coffee. My only complaint, if it could be called that, is the size of the unit. I have been used to the small Keurig and while this is not huge, it does take up more counter space than the single serve Keurig. If you need to make a carafe on occasion and still enjoy your single serve cup and have the counter space, then this is the coffee maker for you.

Thank you so much for your review on your K-Duo Essentials coffee maker. We are glad you are enjoying it!

Love It!

This is a very cool machine! I am familiar with Keurig as I had a machine prior to this one. Just a regular one, not the duo. I do love my Keurig. It is just so convenient to pop that K cup in there in the morning and have piping hot coffee so quickly. Not to mention the various other (not coffee) K cups! I love making the teens hot cocoa in the winter as a reward for shoveling the sidewalk! I did not think I would ever want a traditional pot again; but we have my in laws over for game night frequently and they LOVE their coffee. So with the brewed pot, they can top off their cups to reheat their coffee and not waste what is left in their cup. It is just the best for entertaining. Also, it is worth noting that the carafe side features pause and pour so you do not have to wait for the whole pot to brew. As with my classic Keurig, there are multiple choices for your cup or mug size (which is awesome). I was worried the water reservoir would not be large enough as the machine seems so compact; but it is on par with my classic Keurig water storage. Overall, love the Keurig brand and this machine is THE choice if you like to entertain or host coffee drinkers!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your K-Duo Essentials coffee maker. We appreciate the feedback! Enjoy!

Very nice coffee pot

This is an almost perfect coffee pot. As someone who drinks multiple cups in the morning with my husband, but wants just one cup in the afternoon, I love that this system has both a 12 cup carafe as well as an individual Keurig. That being said, one of the things I miss the most about my old coffee pot is that this one does not have a clock on it. The off and on switch is not obvious. You have to hold down the cups button for 5 seconds, for it to turn off. This coffee pot is actually shorter than my old one, and not the spacehog I thought it would be considering it is a double system. When pulling the drawer in and out, it tends to hang up and wrinkled up the round paper filter. It is not a totally smoothly opening drawer, that holds the filter and grounds. I like the taste of regular pot of coffee better than K-Cups. They have such a potent and strong flavor. But I am still shopping around to find K-Cups that I hopefully will like better.

Thank you so much for reviewing your K-Duo Essentials coffee maker and for your feedback. Happy Brewing!

Large Water Tank

This is a good coffee maker. I have tried out a lot of coffee makers in the past few years and there are few that stand the test of time. With this machine there are some definite pros to this machine. I do love the water tank on this thing. It is huge and it does take up a good amount of space, but it is totally worth not having to fill up the machine every single time I want have a cup of coffee. It is always ready to go and any given time of the day. It functions very simplistically. The machine offers varies setting beginning with the first option to use the carafe or the k-cups option. Secondly, you choose the size of the amount of coffee that you would like to make. There are only a few options to choose from, but they are standard options, so they are fine and function fine. The only thing that I would recommend against is using the k-cups for any options over the standard 8 ounces cup of coffee. Anything beyond the 8 ounce option is very watered down and does not taste good. If you need to double up or want at larger coffee, I recommend using a second k-cup, I am not sure if they make double shot options for the k-cups. Also, I have another machine that collects the pods for their system, Keurig does not do that. You will need to have a trash can near this machine as it does not collect the cups once you have completed your brewing options. I have had other duo machines (from other brands) give out after a year, hopefully this one last longer than the competition.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We are happy you are enjoying your K-Duo Essentials coffee maker!

Big Coffee maker

I really hated giving this coffee maker a 2 star rating, but in all honesty, I was not crazy about it.

First off, it's a really big coffee maker. It does take up a lot of counter space. So, if you are limited on space like I am, this might be too much for you.

Second, if you are making an 8oz cup of coffee with the pod section of the maker, the coffee fills your glass to the rim each and every time. This is a problem because the coffee does tend to spill over out of the cup when removing it from the machine.

There is a nice spill tray for any coffee that spills from making coffee with the pods. It's easy to remove and clean.

While making a cup of coffee with the pods, coffee grounds somehow kept ending up in the cup.

I had to run water threw the pod section a couple of times to get the grounds out completely.

If you want to make only one cup of coffee whether it's the pod side or the carafe side, the water holder must always be at the fill line.

The machine will not work if the water is not at the fill line.

The noise of the machine while in use is not very loud, but is notifiable from another room.

It makes a winding noise.

Coffee only take about 3 minutes for a cup to brew.

I wanted to like this Keurig machine, but it wasn't for me.

The free coffee that came with was nice though.

The bagged coffee was the strongest.

Thank you for your review on your K-Duo Essentials coffee maker. When you choose the 8oz single cup option, the coffee maker should be giving you 8oz of coffee in which case we would recommend you use a mug larger than 8oz capacity to ensure it does not spill over. We appreciate all of your feedback and will pass it along to the appropriate teams. If you continue to experience coffee grounds in your cup while brewing, please contact our Consumer Care team at 866-901-2739.

Here are my pros and cons:

PROS:

-looks fancy (you and your friends will say, "WOW!")

-can use it for single serve or multi cups

-can control the strength of the coffee in the single cup through 8-10-12 oz servings

-brews quickly

-single serve function – brew whatever flavor you like

CONS:

-hefty… not easy to move around

-takes up a lot of space on the counter

-difficult to reach the reservoir, since it is hefty

-difficult to dump out the water in the reservoir since it's hefty (I don't like the water sitting in the reservoir for days since it can start to grow mold)

-difficult to clean, since it's hefty (did I mention "hefty" too many times?)

-cannot brew coffee in the carafe and use the single cup function at the same time

-no OFF button (that I know of or I don't know if you can just leave it and the light will go off), must unplug

-single cup tastes weak (although you can control whether you want 8,10, or 12 oz), just like the 2.0 model

-the carafe holds 8-12 cups of coffee (too much for the single coffee drinker in the house)

CONCLUSION:

I will stick to my mini 4-cup brewer. It makes the coffee quickly, the coffee tastes great, and I can control the strength without wasting.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. You are correct, there is no Power button on the K-Duo Essentials. The coffee maker is equipped with an auto-off feature. Once you have completed a single cup brew, the brewer will automatically turn off after 1 minute. Once you have completed a carafe brew the heating plate will automatically turn on and remain on for 2 hours. You can manually power the brewer off by pressing and holding the OZ or CUPS button for 3 seconds. We hope this is helpful!
