finally! does NOT taste like it's from a box!

Hi, I have been taste testing box cake mixes lately and trying to make them taste homemade and NOT chemically tasting. I googled and Jiffy was voted "best tasting" and believe me it is!! It's never really on the shelf, so I order it here and pick up at the store. You MUST use 2 boxes to make 1 standard cake. So always buy at least 2 boxes. I box is the same size as the muffin mix so not enough for a full cake. I made mine using 3 SMALL WALMART eggs, 1/2 small tub of sour cream and 2 Tbs butter for flavor and it was dee-lish! 1/2 cup lemon juice in lieu of the water to make a lemony cake. When I make a plain yellow, I will increase the butter and use buttermilk for the liquid. I then used Duncan Hines frosting, now it has no highfructosecornsyrup and it taste 100% better. Boy this cake is delicious. And I CAN'T bake! If your batter is too thin just add 2 Tbspn flour to balance Cant wait to make a sock it to me cake with this mix! : )

Love this mix! Great for small cakes too. Keep them in stock!

Jiffy to the rescue

I found a recipe for "Cake Mix Yeast Rolls" on Allrecipes that called for 9 oz yellow cake mix .Jiffy Yellow Cake Mix fit the bill. Bought it, made it, Loved it!! Thanks Jiffy !!!!

Recommend for 1 layer square or round cake.

I like to make this size cake for two of us and it is gone quickly and no left over OLD cake to toss. After heating the oven and mixing it up I pour 2/3 of the batter in a greased square glass pan that has been dusted with coco powder... then into the remaining 1/3 I add 2 heaping tablespoons of coco powder mix to make chocolate, then pour on top of the yellow mix and swirl in lightly. Bake. Lovely chocolate swirl.

Cake mix

Great size for a small family.
