quick and easy for a 1 layer cake
only makes 1 layer so a standard cake mix may be a better buy-- make 2 layers- freeze one for later. big price jump! these were 39 cents in 2015-- now 77 cents [ double cost for same amount= 9 oz] but often 2 for $1.00 in dollar stores for the exact same item.abearwhocares

- 5 out of 5 stars review6/8/2023amazing little cakeget two boxes makes that a half size cake perfect for two people better for one this is one of the best tasting yellow cakes and jiffy makes this fudge chocolate icing for this cake and they are amazing together. but Walmart never carrie's the icing. . such a great product such a great cake and you have to go to two different stores to get icing and the cake what has the world come to that's just crazy.Hotmama
- 5 out of 5 stars review8/26/2017finally! does NOT taste like it's from a box!Hi, I have been taste testing box cake mixes lately and trying to make them taste homemade and NOT chemically tasting. I googled and Jiffy was voted "best tasting" and believe me it is!! It's never really on the shelf, so I order it here and pick up at the store. You MUST use 2 boxes to make 1 standard cake. So always buy at least 2 boxes. I box is the same size as the muffin mix so not enough for a full cake. I made mine using 3 SMALL WALMART eggs, 1/2 small tub of sour cream and 2 Tbs butter for flavor and it was dee-lish! 1/2 cup lemon juice in lieu of the water to make a lemony cake. When I make a plain yellow, I will increase the butter and use buttermilk for the liquid. I then used Duncan Hines frosting, now it has no highfructosecor...BunniesOpinion
