There is nothing better

I have been using Ivory soap since I was a teenager and that has been close to 20 years. I have to admit that I do remember the scent of this soap being much nicer 20 years ago the way I would describe it is it had more a classic Ivory smell. Over the years this soap seems to have added a slight perfume fragrance to their soap. Whatever the scent is it does not irritate my skin and it is light enough for my nasal allergies where it does not cause a problem. It is kind of strange sometimes I will buy a batch and it smells more of classic Ivory and then other purchases I can detect a hint of perfumey fragrance. Whatever the batch this soap cleans me up really well and I love washing my hands with this soap because it does not leave a annoying scent behind. I hate deodorant soaps and I really hate soaps with lotion in them.

62 Years and Still In Love

Only soap to touch my skin--other than hotel soap or camping sweat--in 62 years. There's something about a product that maintains a healthful and consistent manufacturing process. The consistency really comes into play when you're sick or disabled like I am; it's best not to switch between too many health and beauty products or treatments, just as one would not do with their medications. It's also great that a corporation can keep the price down on this simple product with few ingredients, when so many others have not. I raised my daughter using only Ivory and hope she's passing the tradition down to her children as well, it was great for both of our skin. On a strange and oddly humorous note (now): having grown up in the fifties and sixties when parents raised their kids much differently than they do today, I can still remember the times I'd be taking a bath (age 8 or 9) and my dad--upset with me about one minor thing--and instead of just telling me through the door, he would actually barge on in to yell and threaten to wash my mouth out with a bar of soap. I always cried so hard in fear, yet, also wondered if he just wanted to the large bar of Ivory soap make my mouth feel as soft and smooth as the rest of my body. Nevertheless, I'll still be recommending Ivory soap in any form, long after I wrinkle and those wrinkles turn to furrows: symbols of a 'squeaky clean' wise lady! ;)

Back to Basics

After using different liquid hand soaps for a long while, my hands had developed red, rough scaly patches that no amount of hand lotions, etc., could help, I decided to go back to the basic soap I used as a child. After a week or 10 days of using this basic Ivory soap all but one of the scaly patches is gone. Apparently my skin was reacting to some ingredient(s) in the liquid soaps. This Ivory has a very clean and pleasant aroma (that I don't remember from my childhood) but so far, so good. I plan to continue using this soap instead of the much more expensive brands because my skin is not breaking out and/or itching.

This soap works amazingly

I was staying with a friend out of state and of course there was no soap left in the house to shower with, so I went to the store and decided to give this a try since at the time I thought it was convenient to find a pack of 10 bars for under 5 dollars. I didn't expect anything special, but man I was surprised. Ivory is so gentle on my skin, I don't feel burns or skin irritations like I did with most soaps I've tried. I have sensitive yet oily skin, so even though Ivory is known to be a bit drying, I do not mind at all as it doesn't dry my skin to the point of irritation like other soaps. The scent is lemony/ citrusy and kind of reminds me of those mosquito repellent bracelets, which isn't a bad thing because I like it. It's a very mild scent, so It doesn't stick with you for long. I asked my mom to start buying Ivory bars instead of Axe and Old Spice because it's really works that good and it's more affordable. After trying so many soaps, I could finally say, I could stick with Ivory. It's been around since the 1870s and I hope it will continue to be around for as long as I live. I've never felt that grateful for soap, but this is the best soap I've ever used. It even cleared up most of the bad acne I had on my chest area.

Fresh and Clean
