    • A. WE CHOOSE NOT TO USE THE PLUG TO DRAIN POOL. IT SEEMED ANOTHER PLACE TO WEAKEN THE LINER, OR TO START LEAKS. FILL YOUR GARDEN HOSE WITH WATER; WALK WITH ONE END HELD UP HIGH AND KINK THE END WHERE THE WATER WILL BE COMING OUT OF. SUCK VERY LIGHTLY ON THE END OF THE HOSE, PUT THE END OF THE HOSE YOU HELD HIGH, ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL. DO NOT, DO NOT LET GO OF THE KINKED END; WALK WITH THE KINKED END TO WHERE EVER YOU WANT TO DISCHARGE THE WATER. BEND DOWN TO THE GROUND AND UNKINK THE HOSE---WATER SHOULD FLOW OUT. DO NOT DISTURB THE HOSES BY MOVING THEM, YOU MIGHT STOP THE FLOW. BE SURE YOU HAVE THE HOSE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE POOL WHERE IT WILL STAY. YOU MAY USE OTHER HOSES. WE USED 3 HOSES AND HAD IT COMPLETELY DRAINED IN ABOUT 8 HOURS. DIFFERENT SIZE DIAMETER HOSES, LENGTHS, ETC COULD TAKE 10 HOURS OR EVEN 12. IT WAS FAST AND EASY; ALL 3 HOSES WERE SET UP TO DRAIN IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES. I JUST COULD NOT SEE CUTTING WHERE IT WAS SHOWN. CUTTING SOMETHING WILL WEAKEN IT, AND LATER IT MIGHT BE A LEAK PROBLEM. JUST USE GARDEN HOSES; OPPOSITE OF THE WAY YOU FILLED IT UP!

We do have some winters that we get snow and ice , I just hate to waste thousands of gallons of water every year, not to mention the money to fill it.

    • A. We're in RI- had a tough winter last year and drained it below the intake to remove the filter. No cover, no holes, leaks and we just filled it this week- I was leery of this type of pool but am now happy we got it 2 yrs ago. I will cover it tho- the mess to clean it is worth the $50 for a cover!

    • A. I have one 5 years old, left if up every year we had it, but I do live in Florida, just make sure you have a good cover, but where you live you may want to consider an inline water heater. We have one on ours and we use it year round now. Just don't get the water to hot.

    • A. I live near Columbia MO and we also get the ice and snow in the winter, you can take it down if you want, but keep it where no mice can get to it, otherwise it makes a great home for them. I don't drain or take mine down for the winter, I do however drain it to below the water output and take the pump inside so that it doesn't freeze (made this mistake the 1st year) the water does freeze in the pool, but it hasn't hurt mine and I've had mine since 2006. Hope this helps when making your decision.

We have the 22x52 Intex pool. This is its 3rd year it's delighted us! The secret to this pool is to leave it up all year round taking it down is too hard on the pool. The manufacture does not recommend to leave it up during the winter we do we live in ks are winters are. Cold and icey. We have had no problems leaving it up just drain below the intake outtake holes. And get with a pool supplier to winterize the water no need to cover unless you want to. Take off all hoses and store the pump inside the house. We up graded to a sand filter we also have the over the side skimmer and the automatic Intex pool cleaner all work great! After the winter

I bought the swimming pool from Walmart a week ago and after a labor intensive weekend (cut out the sod for the pool in my back yard, place sand, level sand, level support legs, and fill with water), the pool has a leak at the bottom seam. I am glad I didn't leave the water on throughout the night because I would really have been paying extra for this poorly made pool. I would recommend that you think twice before shelling out the money on this one.

With in a month of setting up our pool one pole bent. We did our best to set it up on level ground. Then yesterday another pole bent. Our previous pool was also an Intex and it lasted 5 YEARS. We are very disappointed. Hoping it last the summer.

We apologize for the disappointing experience you encountered with your pool. The problem that you are experiencing most commonly arises when the pool is set up on ground that is not level. The ground must be flat, solid, level and stable. If the pool is set up on ground that is not level the water will shift to one side, create stress on the pool frame and the pool will become unstable and collapse causing personal injury or property damage. Unfortunately, for safety purposes, we would have to advise that you disassemble the pool and ensure that the ground is 100 percent level. This pool as a 90 day manufacturer’s warranty. Please call our toll-free customer service number at 1-800-234-6839 for information about how to set up a warranty claim.

I bought this pool in June, my daughter and I put it up and after filling for 3 days straight find out that I have a defect in a part that hooks the pump to the pool!! I call customer service and get someone that barely speaks English and has no clue what I'm talking about except to look at a computer screen for help!! She then tells me it will take 10days to process after they receive and review my claim... So at this point we are looking at 12-14 days she said to me! Are you kidding me?!? So, let me get this straight, I am unable to hook up a pool for almost 2 weeks and it's already starting to turn yellow! Ridiculous, I wanted to speak to a manager and she said no, there is no one to talk to...really?!? Then she huffed and puffed a couple of times which I really couldn't believe! Thank goodness my husband could put a quick fix on it with a ton of plumbers tape until I can figure out how to scan and forward the requested documents... Can you say NEVER AGAIN INTEX! Trust me, I tell everyone that asks me about INTEX pools... Poor service and poorly made product!

We got this pool at the end of last season because our beloved easy set pool finally had to be euthanized. We put it up this season and there were 3 holes in the bottom seam. THREE! We had saved pieces of the easy set so we cut patches and repaired the holes. We then filled the pool with umpteen gallons of water. Only to discover the pumps did not work. I went with the Intex brand because we had good luck and enjoyed several years with our easy set pool. So I trusted the brand. I now have trust issues with Intex. 1,000 dollars plus the water bill and all for nothing. Next year I believe I will save my money and get another brand of pool. I see from the reviews that mine was not the only one with holes along the bottom seam. Not a happy customer.

My son bought this 22' pool at the end of last summer, to replace the 18' we had for 8 years. He also has a 14" Krystal Clear Sand filter and a Tidal Wave pump The dual suction outlet configuration on the 22' leaves a lot to be desired. There isn't any way to connect my pool vacuum hose to the outlet, that I can see. It didn't come with a over the pool skimmer basket either. I have to use the "water hose" method to vacuum debris from the bottom of the pool. It tales over an hour to do and I'm putting COLD water into the pool the entire time .I'm 68 and I do all the pool maintenance, and chemicals. I don't like adding the cold water.

This year will be the 3rd and last year we will be able to use this pool. As like the other models, the salt used for the chlorinator destroys the metal pieces for the frame. I've spent about a solid month, sanding and painting each piece, like I do ever year.

This is my second Intex pool. The first one was lost to a tornado after it's second year of service. I upgraded from a 16' to a 22' this time. The size is great! I made a concrete patio for it to ensure it is level and stable but I feel this was a good investment in keeping the pool in good condition. I still haven't heard weather I can leave it up during our harsh winters in the midwest, but will continue to research it. The only downfall I have found is the pump. It is not easy to hook accessories up like a vacuum... I feel it would be better suited with a bigger sand filter. I am currently running it with a chlorine system but am debating on switching it to a salt water system. I would like to hear peoples thoughts on the salt water system if anyone has had one for over three years..

i just got off the phone with "customer support" at Intex because we put this pool up yesterday and the liner leaks. This pool was a gift to us and, because we cannot produce a receipt, Intex thinks it doesn't have to honor the warranty. This is a brand new pool and it is defective, yet, Intex will not stand behind their product. I've never heard of such poor customer care for such a large-ticket item. I would highly recommend you steer clear of this company and their defective products.
