    Nugiant Smart surge protector

Almost works too well. Just went through a thunderstorm and the surge protector cut power quickly to all devices plugged into it. The power stayed on in everything else in the house. There is an on/off switch for the smart outlets. You can leave it on and have one switch control 4 others or you can turn the smart feature off and it will work like any other surge suppressor, with all outlets remaining on. Unit is thinner than I thought and really not that much longer or wider than others. Nice and flat so it hides well behind the T.V. Only thing I would change would be if it had a 90% cord attachment . Otherwise, it is an excellent and reasonably priced surge protector.

Works as it should, product description is WRONG

At this time, the product description is wrong. Maybe they will fix that, but here is how it works. I plug my PC into the 1 outlet that controls the surge protector's power. It's the "switch". When I power off or even hibernate the PC, the power to the other switched outlets (4 of them) are turned off. I have my monitor, speakers and printer plugged into those. There are 2 more unswitched outlet on the surge protector that can be used for the cable modem and Wi-Fi, or anything else you want protected, but NOT turned off. You could also use a TV as the surge protectors "switch" and control power to devices connected to the TV that would never be used unless the TV was on.

Not as I hoped, but works as described...

Purchased this online thinking it was literally a smart protector, where each individual plug-in would detect when something is not needing power & shut itself off...but instead it works off of one particular outlet that shuts down the rest...still an awesome concept, just wasn't exactly as I was hoping for...would highly recommend this to anyone still, as it's still saving energy!
