really like these shelves

I really like these shelves. I have them in my dining room by the kitchen. It is set up as a coffee station. With the different size of the shelves it makes it so easy to have all the things I need right there. And the top has enough room for my machine and a place to set the filter basket when I am filling it with coffee grounds and filter. The instructions for this shelf unit are on the outside of the box it comes in. Make sure to be careful of them when getting the product out of it, since these are the only instructions for the shelving unit. The instructions are easy to understand and follow. And the necessary hardware is in bags. It took about 30 to 45 minutes to put it together. The unit is made out of MDF type of material so we did not use a battery operated screwdriver for the screws. Didn't want to strip out the holes from going in to far. It only requires a few hand tools to put it together. Even though we used hand tools it felt like it went together very snug. And feels like it is sturdy. The color of the shelving unit is a nice light brown that looks like a light wood that has not got a stain on it. And wipes clean with a cloth. The overall height of the unit is 34 5/8" tall. And 23 5/8" wide. With a depth of 11 1/2". All three of the shelves on the one side are 11" wide, by 10 3/4" deep, and 10 3/4" tall. The two shelves on the other side of the unit are both 11 1/8" wide, by 10 3/4" deep, and 16 1/2" tall.

Good Storage

The assembly time on this is about 45 minutes but it took me a little longer because I had a small person helping me that got in the way more than helped. The storage bookcase itself is a decent size; it is very sturdy as my daughter has her very heavy art project sitting on top of it with no problem. I did have a little trouble understanding with the instructions but that was me not the instruction because some of the pieces are almost identical and I didn't pay attention to what I was doing and ended up putting something on backwards It holds quite a bit of stuff. I put it in my daughter's room and it cleared out one corner of her mess with no problem. My daughter has everything stacked inside of it from textbooks to binders and manga, video games controllers, DVD's, and video games and there's still room. I did have storage cubes (10.5 in x 10.5 in x 10.5 in and they fit with plenty of room to spare) in the three smaller compartments but she removed them to stack her things inside without them. I think this is a pretty decent bookcase/storage shelf. I am going to get a few more for around the house. I think it's a little big to use a bookshelf but as storage it's a good starter shelf.

Very Nice Looking

I was really surprised how nice this book case is, it's a light brown color and made of pressed wood. I did not like that the instructions for the book case is printed on the box. The box was shipped to my house and it was dirty and scraped up from shipping so it was hard to read the instructions on the box. The instructions were confusing, vague and the diagrams were frustrating. This book case took longer than expected to put together because of the instructions. The wood pieces are sturdy and seem to be well made,all the hardware was there and there was extra pieces. You will need a screwdriver and a hammer to put this together. It comes with little plastic caps to cover the screw holes. This does have a strong chemical smell and the book case had to be aired out for a week before we used it. Otherwise this is a strong sturdy book case that will hold up without bowing.
