    I hope this helps others like me that are not familiar with woks. I followed the directions but should have used used it several times with veggies only before cooking a whole meal to season it more. That being said, I also panicked when i thought I scotched it. After reading about steel woks, I found 2 things, 1) this type is better than nonstick ones because it produces better flavor 2) it is supposed to change color.( e.i. Look scorched) In fact, once used long-term it will eventual turn black inside. Yes it will look scorched and burned on the entire inside. That's part of the seasoning process and it's a good thing. This will eventually become a nonstick surface. I wasn't expecting this and thought I did something wrong and ruined the pan. Hope this helps new wok owners like me! I would also recommend reading about steel woks online for more care info on how to keep and clean.

    It is a bit on the thin side but works well with my glass top electric stovetop. I seasoned using my outdoor propane single burner and it developed a lovely dark patina. And no fumes in my house. But it did warp a little on the flat bottom so it was a little wobbly on my stove top. I then used advise I found on the Internet and used a wooden block and a hammer to remove or hammer out the warping. Sits perfectly flat now and the cooking is great. I just love the stir fry veggies I whip up with it. Look on YouTube for seasoning videos and care instructions. don't let a little warping scare you its normal and easily remedied. For the price you can't go wrong.

    I used it once and the coating came off on the food I was cooking. I am going to throw it in the trash and recommend it to no one. Carmen Ventre

    I would have rated this wok 5 stars if it were not for the coating that must be removed from the pan before seasoning it. The directions tell you to use steel wool and hot soapy water to scrub off the coating. It didn't work for me. I just wasn't strong enough. I then tried oven cleaner with no luck. I started doing some research on the internet and found that some manufacturers use a thin lacquer coating on the pan. I believe this is the case with this wok. I consulted my husband who then pulled out one of those dark green scrubbie pads and a can of acetone. We went outside (you must go outside) and he poured a small amount of acetone in the bottom of the pan and started scrubbing with the green scrubbie. He had the whole pan ready for seasoning within 10 minutes. The acetone did the trick. I then washed off the acetone with soap and water. Next, I wiped down the exterior and interior with flax seed oil and set it on the stovetop. I heated it on medium and slowly the interior and exterior started to blacken. I then wiped out the oil with a paper towel and tongs and got a few flakes of leftover lacquer coating. I wiped down the pan with more oil and repeated these steps. Finally, when I felt it was seasoned enough to cook with, I added a sliced onion and a bunch of green onion with some canola oil. I sautéed that mess for 15 minutes, pressing the onions all along the interior surface. If you use flax oil to season, it stinks up the kitchen and adding the onions to pan helps the seasoning process. Then I let the pan cool and rinsed it with water and wiped it with a paper towel. I made fried rice in it. The eggs stuck a little but a soak with water took it off. I am pleased with my purchase. Now the question is: where am I going to store it?

    I got this wok as a gift and it works great! I have never gotten a wok new, so seasoning it was a new experience. You must prep and season it before use to get the coating off of the wok, do not cook with it before seasoning the wok. Once it is seasoned and coated in oil you can cook with it. The wok comes with step by step directions on how to season it. This is something that must be done with all new woks. This is a really good wok and I highly recommend it.
