The Hyper Tough 3.5-amp variable speed jig saw is pretty good for small projects it came with one wood cutting blade and one hex key it isn't to heavy (but it is kind of loud) it has variable speed control - too- free blade change clamp and a vacuum port it's for Straight and curved cutting in wood, plastic, metal and drywall, it has a 6ft cord so it's pretty easy to keep it out of your way while using and thankfully came with an operators manual ( this is my first jig saw) so I really needed a Manuel, it's easy to control and I'm thrilled with this little thing, I can see myself using it a lot, I'm always doing some kind of diy project and this will work a lot better than my utility knife to cut into my drywall, I went online and looked and saw that it's price was so reasonable I felt like kicking myself for not buying one a long time ago ( I got this free from Spark) so I would recommend if your thinking of getting a jig saw try The Hyper Tough you might be pleasantly surprised.

RE: Nice Jigsaw
This is a great little Jigsaw for home projects. If you are a professional in this field, you will probably go through 1-2 of these a year. But if you are a DIY, this may last you several years. I enjoy this and find the features to be very friendly. The cutting speed is easy to control with variable speed dial, so you can match the rate of the cut to the material your using for the job. The Hyper Tough comes with a wood cutting blade, hex wrench and vacuum adapter. You can use it for cutting wood, plastic, metal, drywall and more. It is also compatible with U and T shank blades. It has a red color, making it simple to locate when you need to use it. This jig saw also comes with on-board wrench storage to easily keep your tools organized. It features a 6' cord length, so you can reach a good distance for your cuts. This features a vacuum attachment to keep you cutting area clean of debris. Overall a very nice Jigsaw! I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program.
lightweight power saw...
When you are ready for those home improvement's, and it require's a few simple cuts, this 3.5 amp jig saw will tear through a sheet of plyboard with ease. I just received this "Hyper Tough" jig saw from Wal Mart with a "variable speed" dial for cutting. This way you can control the rate of cutting, to the material you are using. This saw is capable of cutting through drywall, plastic, metal, and wood with no problems. This unit features a power "lock on" button for those longer pieces of material that you need to cut. Included in this box is a well built 3.5 amp motor housed in a hard plastic shell with and easy grip handle. Inside the box is 1 wood cutting blade, 1 vacuum adapter, which lets you attach a vacuum (not included) to help keep your work area clean, and a 7/64 hex key that is attached to the power cord for quick removal of the blade. This unit has a plastic and metal protection guard for the blade as well as a blade guide roller for added control. The base plate can adjust from 0 degree to a 45 degree left and right angle, with power lock on button and on/off trigger switch.
Nice little jig saw
I've used this saw several times for a few small projects. It works well and is simple to operate. The vacuum attachment works ok, but I find it easier just to actually use the vacuum on it's own afterward. Just my opinion.
Seems to be built well and functions as it should. Motor is strong enough for most tasks.
I wish the wrench to loosen and replace the blade was in a more solid place on the actual drill rather than being on the end of the cord. I feel like this could be easy to lose or slide out over time.
I'd recommend this for anyone who is needing a jig saw for general projects around the house. It will get the job done. Good product.
Awesome Hyper Tough 3.5Amp Jig Saw
Hyper Tough 3.5Amp Jig Saw
I just got my new Jig Saw, about a week ago, and the first impression is very positive. I'm very excited to start my projects at home using it.
In general, it looks like other brands, but I want to talk about the distinctive features it has that makes it very attractive for me.
• It was build in a very hard and superior quality Red Plastic and metal base.
• It has a lock for the trigger to keep the saw running
• To install and remove the saw is very easy, it is equipped with a quick release feature that you do not need any tool put the saw in place.
• The base is adjustable 45 deg, with 2 bolts in bottom, and the tool is attached to the cable making it always available.
• Variable adjustable speed.
• Vacuum connection.
• Long and excellent quality cable.
It really has everything you need on Jig Sow.
I have not used it for an extended period to determine if I will recommend it for a shop.
But I think is an excellent option for home projects for people who like superior quality tools.
Definitely I will buy more tools of this brand.
Good Home Jig Saw
The Hyper Tough 3.5 Amp Jig Saw is a good home use jigsaw. It comes with one blade, it is a wood cutting blade. The blade is very easy to install and change, it is bayonet mount. The jigsaw has a spring-loaded knob that you rotate to remove and install the blade making it very easy to change blades. This jigsaw is variable speed via a thumb knob speed control on top, the trigger is on and off. It has a port on the back where you can attach your shop-vac to suck up sawdust or you can hook the hose to the exhaust side of the shop-vac and blow away the sawdust. The reason I don't think this would make a good professional jigsaw is because you have to use an allen wrench to loosen the two screws that control the base tilt. So if you want to make your cut at an angle you have to loosen the two screws, tilt the base, and re-tighten the screws. One good thing about that is the base isn't going to swivel when you don't want it to, it is quite secure. I used the saw to cut a piece of 1/2 inch plywood and it zipped right through it like a knife through butter. I would recommend this jigsaw for at home use.
Hyper Tough 3.5Amp Jig Saw - Good Value
the Hyper tough 3.5 amp is a well made Jig Saw which would be useful for general construction and wood working around the house. For the price which is about 25 - you would expect an inferior product. However, this product is well build and very sturdy with a heavy duty metal base plate and very sturdy body. We used used the saw for cutting of plywood sheets up to 1/2 inch with no problems. We did cut some pieces of 3/4 inch ply and the saw functioned very well and with no issues. The provided blades functioned with out "sticking" and movement was smooth. These blades are good for just general cutting work. However I would recommend that you go the local hardware store and purchase blades are WOOD/SMOOTH and SCROLL, which is a thin fine blade that is used for fine wood work and allows you to make sharp turns and for cutting shapes. The use is not intended for heavy duty construction as I do not think that it could hold up to the rigors of a constant every day construction environment as some the more expensive tools costing 200 or move I highly recommend the Hyper Tough 3.5 Amp Jig Saw for purchase.
I have to say that there is going to be a lot of negativity in this review, but if you are looking at this tool, you need to pay attention. This saw does not cut straight. The blade is turned about 2 degrees to the right, so you have to push slightly to your left to get this saw to cut a straight line. The bottom plate is nearly impossible to get at a true 90 degree angle to the blade, as the "locked" position for straight up and down is only really locked if you eyeball it and then tighten the screws down tremendously. That alone is a chore, as you have to hold the blade guide wheel forward with one finger, while trying to hold the bottom plate at a 90 degree angle to the blade, AND tighten the screws. Even with the blade guide wheel locked all the way forward, there is still about 1/16" of an inch of forward/backward movement simply because of the flex of the shaft, so if you have to back up and start forward while cutting, you will almost certainly cause the blade to fall to either side of the guide wheel and risk breaking the blade. There is also at least 1/32" of side to side play in the shaft, so that is just compounding the issue of the blade not staying on the guide wheel. As if all that isn't bad enough, the variable speed is not in the trigger, it's a separate wheel on top of the tool. So you would literally have to stop, wheel down the speed, then continue when you get to the end to prevent splintering when exiting your cut. Oh yeah, the vacuum adapter that attaches to the tool does not fit a standard shop vacuum nozzle. And no matter what position you have the shaft in, there is always something in your way preventing you from tightening the blade down, so you have to move the shaft into two positions to get that done. The only positive things I have to say about this saw is that it has a longer than normal cord and there is a spot on the cord to hold the allen wrench. Basically, just stay away from this. Difficult to set up, hard to use, and doesn't cut straight.
