Good Bike for $90. It is not made by Hyper Co.

The Good. Price is good for an entry level rear and front suspension 7 speed Shimano geared bike, with iwoking index shifting. Seat is comfortable, nice post lock. So far its holding up well to my son's abuse with going down curbs. Son is excited enough about how cool it is and shifts. The Bad - The front wheel has about 1/4" on wobble - so its really difficult to adjust the no name mountain brakes for strong grab without impacting the free roll of the wheel. Handlebar is not formed evenly. The frame is heavy steel - overall this 20" wheel bike weighs in the low 30 lbs - that's why my 9 year old is having difficulty pulling the front end over the curb. Additionally the wheels are steel. The bike uses the "Hyper" brand name - HOWEVER its Made in China and issued by "Motion Trendz". Wall Mart should call it by its real name Motion Trendz - Hyper 20 bike

    Better than most

This 20" was the only choice after the next larger bike. As my son is vertically challenged he had to have this smaller version. The bonus is that it comes mostly assembled and there is not much work to do even when delivered to home address. So far it seems a sturdy frame with nice tires and good handling. The only down side is that the front breaks are not really well engineered so it takes quite a while to set them correctly so that they don't drag on one side. Once you overcome this issue its not so bad. The only other annoying thing is that the break cables shifting cables are not routed nicely so you end up with cables hanging out. I would have used zip ties to clean thing sup but as the cables are just a little bit short for proper routing i have to leave them hang. If you can live with these small issues then this bike is well worth the money as the 7 geared alternative to the BMX bikes (the only style they have smaller).

    Nost as described

I purchased this bike for my son after reading that it was a aluminum frame 20" mountain bike. Well the bike arrived today, and it will be going back to the store for a refund shortly. It is not a aluminum frame, it clearly states on the bike that it is a steel frame. So buyer beware, it may not be what you want.
Bad quality. Wheels wobble. The headset is not smooth. Track lever reach is too far for a kid sized to ride a 20" bike. Front suspension had barely 1/2" travel only if a 170lb adult pushed on it. Rear shock coil is so stiff that at the most loose setting, a 170lb adult can feel the shock working. The bike is not an aluminum like the advertising stated, which I assumed from the beginning. One good thing about this bike is that the rear derailleur worked well.
We bought this bike a while ago for my 12 year old son. He wanted to move up from his bmx bike-- and this was perfect for him! We are pleasantly surprised with the quality and value of this bike. He is able to ride further and longer, due to the easy shifting. He is also pretty hard on bikes, and this one has held up very well. Thanks Wal-Mart!
