    • A. If you purchased this bike, he would have it for a few years (depending on his size & height). It is a 20" bike and if he's never ridden a bike before training wheels should be a consideration for this bike or any bike.

    • A. My son is 8. He just moved up to this size from a smaller bike and was able to adjust in just a few rides. For a first timer, I would recommend this model for both value and ease. Good hand grips. It has coaster brakes, so it is easier to learn to stop. Easy to assemble and maintain.

    • A. My little guy started with a tot bike, but he hated it, he said he was not a baby. When he got the just of it we moved him to a 16". It was "cooler" I guess. This bike may be a little tall or intimidating for a little guy, but the seat does adjust down really far, very easily too. I guess it depends on your sons height. Litlle ones should be able to put both feet on the ground and be able to stradle the bar without touching the bar itself. Other wise a fall or slip off the seat can really hurt some VERY sensitive areas, if you know what I mean. This bikes pedal brakes makes it much easier for a beginner, the pedals don't spin backward, it can scare them, so thats a plus. It's definately durable, it can take a bunch of crashes during the process. It looks cool, which may encourage him to show it off. I say if he can stradle it easiley, pad him up and try. If it seems a little too tall, a 16" would be great, it's not a baby bike, or a big kid bike, it's in between. Hope this helps

    • A. You can teach him to ride with this bike without training wheels, but you would probably need someone to hold the bike seat and/or handlebars until he gets used to balancing and steering for himself. My husband kind of jogged next to and behind our 7-year-old until he learned how to balance himself. After about 6 blocks, my husband let go for about 6 seconds, but learning how to ride a bike usually takes more than just one time of training. If there is no one able to jog or run behind with your son, check out "Kelly Ripa Rides Again" on YouTube. It is really helpful for learners who need to do it on their own.

    • A. After buying this bike, I don't think it would be too small for someone 9 years old, 4 and a half feet tall - even for someone with very long legs at this age. The color of the bike is orange and black.

    • A. My son is 8. The seat height and angle of the handle bars adjust. 20" size is usually standard size for older children and young teens, i.e. BMX bikes. The next size bikes would be 22", 24", 26"...larger frames and tires. You would want the rider to be able to touch the ground while straddling the bike. Maybe test one in store with same size.

    • A. No. On the pack it says 8year old- 13year olds. That was why i bought it because it wouldnt make sense to keep replacing bicycles after every one year of use. So, when they are thirteen you can replace it and if they want to still use it, it's adjustable to any height.

    • A. My 7 year old son is 49" tall flat foot. This bicyclee is perfect for his height. I had to lower the seat post all the way down so he could get both feet on the ground. There is enough adjustment in this bicycle that he will be able to use it for a few years before he out grows it.

This is a great bike for our 7-year-old. It is his first bike without training wheels, and we wanted a bike with pedal brakes for easy stopping. It does look really cool, too, with one exception: I was not expecting to see little skulls in the background of the whole bike. They weren't visible on the website, and they are somewhat faint and abstract. As an adult, I can clearly make out what they are supposed to be, but I guess for $40, we will make do since it does really seem to be a great bike otherwise. I included a couple of pictures of the seat just to put it in perspective.

Bought it assembled & I wish I would've gotten a discount, had alot of scratches on paint since it was floor model. My 10 & 1/2 yr old liked it but was not crazy about it, so husband went out & bought pegs for it. Now he "LOVES" it. It's a great solid bike, rides well. Looks sharp!

The seat is adjustable without tools, very cool! I didn't expect it to ride as smooth as it does. The bike is well worth it, I wasn't sure because it was so affordable... my son was super impressed that he could coast right along beside me on my bike and he loves the colors.

Got this bike for my son's 7th birthday and I must admit it was a great buy. He rides the heck out of it and since the initial cost was so low we could focus on getting him other things as well. He is very happy with the bike and rides it all the time. All that being said, you have to approach this from the perspective of the price vs serviceability. You will get what you pay for. You will also get the amount of service out of the product that is in direct proportion to the cost. So if you want something that is of higher quality, that may (or may not) you will have to pay more. For my 7 y/o, this bike is fine and when (or if) it finally dies we will simply buy another bike. I think he will outgrow the bike before that actually happens.

We bought this bike for our son and it lasted only one season. Bought for our son last year. He used it for a month or so then this summer, we had to replace the tire inner tube on our first trip out. Then the chain came off and a bearing needed to be replaced. They didn't have it at the store. Once the part came in, it was clear that it could not be replaced unless the entire chain & gear system was replaced. Not worth sending it to a bike shop to be repaired. Next time we'll spend more to get a better quaility product.

Different retailers sell the bike under different names, but it is the same bike from the same factory. Paint and stickers vary from store to store. The Target version is $54. This bike is made in china and is sold under different brands. On Amazon it is sold as the Huffy Pro Thunder, Pacific Igniter and Pacific Flex. At Walmart it’s called the Huffy Rock It. Target calls it the Magna Imposter. The paint and decals are different, but check the forks, gooseneck, coaster brake, plastic pedals and chain guard. They are identical and show that they are all the same bike. You get what you pay for with this mass produced steel bicycle. Packing is flimsy and the quality control is poor. You may get a bike that has been damaged in shipping. From the factory, the welded wheel mounts on the forks are not aligned and most parts are out of true. Manufacturing quality was a low priority and you’ve got only a 50/50 chance of getting an intact bike with straight rims. If you buy it from a retailer and self-assemble, be ready to take it back at least once before use. This is a very basic bike. Coaster brake, steel frame, barely padded seat, plastic pedals, cheap grips, steel rims. Bare bones. We needed an entry level bike for the 7yr old to see if he liked the 20” tires and the BMX frame. Sometimes we will buy sports equipment and after a few uses it doesn’t hold the kid’s interest so it gets put aside. Good reason to start with the cheap-o version sometimes. At this price point, this was a good “try it and see” bike. In addition, it’s a way to get a feel for what features he would like when buying a quality bike in 2 yrs or so. After this, maybe the next bike will be a freewheel / hand brake. If you shop around for the best price and are prepared to do some fixing / returning, then this bike is your cheap-o choice. It’s probably only for those looking for the lowest price. But if you want quality and parts that fit and function, you may want to spend the extra $70 and get a bike that is durable and well made.
