  • A. I did an in store pickup and it was in a box, so I would venture to say the box would likely have simply been dropped off had I requested home delivery. Most places charge for assembly, TRU charges about $30 and you need to schedule the assembly since it’s done by a contractor (not just any store employee can assemble a product), same with Home Depot, it’s outsourced. Assembly is less than an hour. Because toddler bikes are small, most of the pieces are big (i.e. assembled), you're not laying down the bike chain or anything, just putting on wheels and handle bars. The only assembly issue we had were some plastic packing tubes that were stuck in some of the pieces (I think the handle bars), eventually my father separated them, but it got to a point where I thought maybe they were part of the piece and didn't want to break it, but at the same time couldn't fit it into the allotted slot! Caused us a 20 minute delay and I thought I was going nuts!

  • A. All that is needed to be assembled is the front wheel, handle bars, seat, pedals and training wheels. Very easy to do with a cresent wrench.

  • A. No, it is not assembled, but mainly consist of four major parts. Bike frame, handlebar assembly, pedals, and training wheels. If you feel you would be unable to assemble, most Walmart stores carry this bike in stock, already assembled.

  • A. Not exactly your answer, but this might be of help: I did an in store pickup and it was in a box. Most places charge for assembly, TRU charges about $30 and you need to schedule the assembly since it’s done by a contractor (not just any store employee can assemble a product), same with Home Depot, it’s outsourced. I’m absolutely a pay for assembly person, but this bike isn’t very tough (I was on a b-day deadline). Assembly is less than an hour. Because toddler bikes are small, most of the pieces are big (i.e. assembled), you're not laying down the bike chain or anything, just putting on wheels and handle bars. • A. You could hire someone to assemble it, but I don't really see the need. Instructions are clear, and concise. If you have put together IKEA furniture, then this should be a breeze. Call your Walmart store to to see if you could bring it in to have it assembled.

Overall I am very pleased with the bike for the price. However the instructions to assemble it were almost useless. Good thing my husband remembered a thing or two from putting his bike together as a kid. In the end we got it put together just fine. Bike arrived in good time. Pick up from store was easy. Would recommend this for first kid's bike.

This bike is a great buy. Great price, very sturdy and durable. Absolutely love it and so does my three year old son. Many of his friends have wanted a turn riding it as well.

Good Price, Easy to Put Together

The bike was inexpensive and my son loves it. It's not a designer/name brand bike, but it fits the purpose and he doesn't even know the difference. Honestly, for the amount of time he'll be on this bike, it was a very financially-smart decision. It was easy to put together, inexpensive and my son was geeked. Win/win for everyone involved.

Great Beginers' (3yr) Bike

Customer review by mwakes

Purchased this for my 3 year old son's birthday and we are very satisfied. In store pickup was good (other items were missing from my order, but not this essential one). The bike was relatively easy to put together, overall I would estimate a hour. A few issues with some 'stuck pieces', but nothing was missing or damaged (I still don't know how my father separated pieces that had solid packing plastic sticks stuck in them, I was afraid to brake it and it did ‘pause’ the assembly effort for about 20minutes). The quality is great for the price; especially since most starter bikes are out grown by the end of the summer. The Rock It theme is nice, but it doesn't really stand out, I don’t even think my son noticed the small decals (but I think that issue would be faced by any bike; not a lot of decal surface area to begin with), and anyway the fact that it’s a ‘big boy bike’ far out weights any characters. My son is over 40-inches (over 90% for 3yr height) and his feet do touch the ground (though not quite flat) when the seat is all the way down. Definitely something to consider.

My son's first huffy bike

This is my second purchase from walmart.com in a couple of months and I have to say I'm impressed. I scoured the internet for bikes and shipping prices, this is a great little 1st bike and my shipping was 97 cents. My son has only been riding it in the house cause it's winter but as soon as spring comes that huffy is hitting the pavement. I'm not a walmart store shopper BUT because I've had such good dealings with their online store I might be swayed to shop a little more. The assembly was super easy also!!

Huffy went downhill :(

I have to say first that Walmart was not responsible for this mess: Huffy shipped us a plastic-covered hack-job with thinner metal than our faucets. The kicker: no pedals! They weren't screwed in to the grey piece that comes off the bike out-of-the-box, nor was there a hole milled for the pedal to go in! I rode Huffy's as a child, and was so disappointed that my son couldn't continue the trend. If I had seen it in store and assembled correctly, I may have ended up driving home with it. Will try Huffy Sea Star (can't help tradition!), or Schwinn Scorch... best advice is to buy in a store than can assemble (and ensure all parts are accounted for!)!

Perfect for a nearly 4 yr old. We ordered it online, took it to the local Walmart for free assembly. It was done in 1 day ( we took it on a Sunday and hence was assembled the next working day). have had it for 3 weeks or a bit more. We are very happy with the product. Steady and sturdy.
