How to Train Your Dragon
The movie is cute, but the book is totally different. It will keep your kids/students engaged! Hiccup can speak to his small dragon. The dialogue is hilarious! if you enjoy reading to your kids or yourself, this book is wonderful!!!!

What a huge disappoint...
What a huge disappointment. I bought this series for my child based on the movie. (The books are always better, right? Not in this case.)The dragon Toothless isn't even likable. I'd suggest the reading to a second grader, but with all the spelling mistakes perhaps not. The mistakes are made to look like dark age Viking spelling, I get it, but perhaps it's more fitting for an immature fifth grader? I don't know, even my child wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.

How to Train your drag...

How to Train your dragon is about Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and toothless some of the bravest warriors in the Hooligan Village. But Hiccup was not always a great warrior. Compared to the average Viking Hiccup is very different by different I mean small. This story tells the ups and downs that Hiccup went throw to become a great warrior. The main part is when two Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus and threatened to eat every one! And because Hiccup speaks Dragonese, language of dragons (and the only person that could); he talked to one of the Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus. Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus said "I come in peace but I'm still going to eat you all." Then he made a plain to destroy the dragons. And it worked. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. If you don't read this book you are crazy because it is a funny adventure.

This book is about a V...

This book is about a Viking boy named Hiccup III. Hiccup is not an ordinary boy, and he is the son of the chief. Everybody expects Hiccup to be the best but unfortunately he is called Hiccup the Useless and he is the worst. Then one day, he tries to become a real hero by passing the final test. But he gets everybody exiled from the tribe because his dragon almost killed all the dragons. So, it ended it to a big dragon fight. After that, he shouts at his dad about what kind of a dad he is! But then, the chief finds the biggest dragon ever. Everybody then finds out that Hiccup can speak to dragons, which is illegal. But, he ends up saving the day. I like this adventured packed book because it about a person he shows everybody his strength and not his weaknesses. I would rate this book 7 out of 10.

Ill start by saying t...

I'll start by saying that aside from the character names, there aren't too many similarities between the book and the animated film, but I liked them both almost equally. The humor is still just as juvenile, Toothless is just as adorable, and the Vikings are just hilarious. It's just that the plot is entirely different. Which is fine. I can enjoy both. A note on the audio: David Tennant lends nigh-lethal levels of charm to his reading of this tale. I had wondered why the movie had so many Scottish accents when they're supposed to be Norse, but I suspect it's a combination of Cowell's drawing inspiration from the Inner Hebrides and Tennant's memorable narration. My only real complaint is that the music and sound effects in between chapters are noticeably (and annoyingly) louder than the voice track.
