Lots of line space, easy to install
I love this line dryer! It took 1/2 bag of cement and about an hour to install. After waiting for the cement to dry 24 hrs, I used it for a full load of heavy jeans, shirts, socks, etc. The ability to rotate it to hang the wash evenly and distribute the weight was easy and the large number of lines allowed me to spread of hte items for quicker drying. The Household Essentials Parellel Dryer is well built and easy to set up and take down to store. I look forward to many loads of sun-dried clothes!

Metal is thin in spots and not strong enough.
I love the idea of this dryer but when we where putting it up one of the corners hit the ground and the metal frame snapped. We fixed it with duct tape but it no longer folds up. While I would recommend the idea of this type of dryer I would not recommend this brand.

    Perfect For My Needs

This line was easy to set up. So far it has handled blankets and a comforter without any issues or major line droop. Very happy with this purchase.

    great product/fast shipping

    Verified purchase

I ordered this 30 like parallel dryer on a Thursday night and it was waiting outside my door Friday afternoon when I got home. Estimated date was to be the next Tuesday. I had a little problem with one of the brackets slipping out but rather than having to take it back I just let it down and did a little tweaking and it went right in the slot. Yes, there is a lot of sagging in the lines but that is the only way they can sell it and put it in a box. If It was any tighter it wouldn't open.. found that out after I tightened up my lines. I love how clothes smell after being dried outdoors, so to say the least I am very pleased with this product.

This dryer was a replacement for a slightly smaller model that we'd had for a long time, until the pole rusted through (we don't take it in in the winter). The price, even before the employee discount, was about twenty dollars less than I could find anywhere else for a similar item, and for whatever reason, the shipping was free even to my home. The lines will be slack when you unpack the dryer; this is necessary and to be expected. In fact I usually take them loose and rethread them through every other hole, which reduces the capacity but allows better air circulation and speeds drying time. I find this dryer very easy to install; I had sunk a pipe for the old one, and bought this model specifically because the pole was the correct diameter to drop right into the existing pipe. Since the automatic dryer is one of the biggest electricity hogs in the household, it doesn't take long for this line dryer to pay for itself, and things sure smell better. Besides, sunlight is one of the best bleaches you can find!

    Parallel clothesline

    Verified purchase

I previously had one of these parallel lines, but alas, after about 25 years, it had seen its better days. Obviously, I love this line because I bought another one. This one goes up much easier than my previous one, and I like the fact that it is aluminum and will not rust. I take my line inside after I am done with it and put it up each time I use it. It is very lightweight, and I am so happy to have found another one.

    This is better than described

    Verified purchase

I have always hung my clothes outside, and the one that I had previously broke and there were no stores in the area that carrried this type, only the umbrella type (not my favorite, they don't hold enough clothing. I got 5 loads of laundry on this clothes dryer (including 2 sets of sheets). More people need to use this type of clothes dryer, it saves your clothing, money and best of all your clothes smell great!! If anybody asks me about purchasing this type of product I would recommend you, also not too expensive. Thank you so much

This clothesline pole fills my requirements for airing and drying my laundry outside. It was easy for my husband to set up. Additionally, it is light enough that I can easily take it down and store it in the garage when I am not using it. The lines are far enough apart to allow sufficient air flow, and the poles support the wet-clothes weight without a problem. Additionally, this gets me outside more and lets us reduce our electricity bills.

Enjoy Nature Again and Save Energy Too

    Verified purchase

It was easy to install and use. I have enjoyed being outside on sunny mornings hanging clothes, enjoying nature, especially watching the birds explore the clothes line as a new perch. The clothes smell so good and I am saving energy and money too! It brings me back to my childhood helping mom with the clothes. I recommend it to everyone.

    Line dryer too tall

    Verified purchase

I have installed the umbrella-type clothesline and it seems very nice. It was easy to open and appears sturdy. However, I have to stand on my tiptoes to reach the lines. I may need to use a step stool to hang up my clothes. I am wondering if there is a way to cut 6 inches off of the tube.

    1. Yes, this is the best way. It's quite easy and it takes 2 80lb. bags of concrete.

    2. You could put it in the ground or just use a heavy duty patio umbrella stand. We use an iron one that works perfect.

    4. You can install it in the ground, or some reviewers have used a wrought-iron umbrella holder. I used two bags of quick-crete and was able to install it myself. The dryer sits in a plastic holder in the concrete, so you can still easily remove and store.

    5. Yes, you need concrete for support. When my old one broke, my husband temporarily put my new one in the outdoor wooden table, through the hole meant for the umbrella. That's where my new one is now. The only problem with that is it's now too high and I have to use a stool. Since I'm getting up in age, he is going to put it in the ground for me now.

    6. you cement a plastic pole in the ground and the metal support pole slides into it.

    7. Yes, you put a tube that stays in the ground with rock under and concrete then dirt around it. The pole slides into the tube when in use. The tube has a cap to put on when not in use.

    8. Thats what the directions call for, but I put PVC pipe in the ground and then inserted the receiving sleeve into the PVC. Had the then in use that night.

    9. Yes we did due to we live in Michigan(weather changes 6x's a day-ha ha),and when we tried to put it in our metal umbrella stand it kept tipping over depending on the combination of wet clothes was on it.I did not have time to rewash so we decided to put it at bottom of our deck for ease to the pool and back door by the kitchen. It really does hold 4 loads of laundry at a time and it is easy to close up before you mow.take it out before winter and use the cap attached to the plastic tube you cement in to ground to keep the hole clean for spring.

    10. Yes and No.... Mine came with a plastic leader tube that was about 2 1/2 ft long. That tube gets concreted in. Then the aluminum poles slide into that (so you can take your poles and laundry tree down for the winter). The plastic tube thing that gets concreted has a cap part for it when the poles are stored too. Hope that helps you!

    1. No knob. To tighten the line you pull then re-knot. Yes, it has instructions. Not sure if it's areceiver bracket, but it comes with a plastic tube that you cement in the ground so you can remove the dryer when not in use.

    3. This model does not have a knob to tighten lines. It does come with written instructions. Not sure what a receiver bracket is, but there is a tube that goes into the ground with a cap for the pole to go into. The cap is for when not in use.

    4. It does not have a knob to tighten the lines, but it only has two lines that run back and forth. It is easy to untie them and tighten them. It has written instructions. It comes with a plastic receiver bracket and and attached bracket cover that can be flipped on to cover the hole if/when the dryer is removed.

    5. No, you simply pull the lines thru the bracket and around and tie them off. You can cut or just tuck the lines out of sight. Not much in the way of instructions. It basically opens like a big umbrella. If you can open an umbrella, you can use this clothesline. Yes, the receiver bracket is molded plastic with an attached cap to keep water and the like out. Instructions say to put it in concrete. I put mine into a piece of PVC that I had buried. Hope that helps

    6. Lines are tightened by hand and knotting the lines. It comes with written set up instructions. It comes with a reciever bracket that installs permanently in the ground and the rest can be taken down and stored when it will not be used for a while.

    7. No, there is not a knob for line tightening. You can easily tighten (or loosen) the lines manually. The lines are threaded through holes in the pole and you can adjust the tautness of the lines. To tighten mine, I threaded the slack to the end of the poles and then tied a simple knot to keep the line in that state. If I ever need to loosen the lines, I can untie the knot and thread line back to loosen them. There is a simple installation sheet, but not in depth written instructions. The center pole has a clip, like those on an umbrella, for locking (and unlocking) the arms into the extended position. I don't know what receiver bracket you are expecting; the center pole seems secure in holding the arms up.
