Great little broom for the right reason

We bought this to use daily in the laundry room where the cat litter box is located. We had a battery operated hand held that just didn't do the job. It works really, really well for the reason we bought it. Also use it now to sweep the kitchen floor. Pull out the broom and dust pan about once a month now, only to get deep in the corners and some of the hard to reach places. We considered a cordless but they get so expensive and we just hadn't seen good, long-time suction out of the battery operated ones. It is designed really well. The collection bin is simple to empty after every use. There's a pre-filter that seems to catch hair and such, which we twist off and clean about once every 2 weeks (really simple and quick). Finally there's a sponge filter we knock off the dust about once a month (again very simple). Don't consider this a vacuum. It works best on flat floors or low pile throw rugs. Only drawback is that you need a screwdriver to remover the roller brush.

    Ten Stars!!!

So far I LOVE this little vacuum! I researched and read a lot of reviews before my purchase. I wanted something simple, lightweight and well-made to use frequently rather than have to lug out the large vacuum. I didn't want to have to deal with a cordless model that I had to recharge, find a place to mount, etc. Also I didn't want to have to race the clock before the battery ran down. The 20-foot cord on this vacuum is great. I only have to plug it in a couple of extra times, and it's really no hassle for me. A longer cord would just get in the way. The suction is great, and the size is perfect. It's wide enough to cover a reasonable area but narrow enough to go under furniture very well. It vacuums area rugs nicely without sucking them up. You can go from hardwood to carpet with the simple flip of a switch. We have two cats, and it picks up stray litter and cat hair wonderfully. I can't rave enough about this machine. I actually enjoy using it! I only purchased it a week or so ago, so the only negative would be if it didn't last.

    hoover corded utility vacuum

contrary to reviews that this vacuum does not have enough suction I disagree. this is the best small vacuum I have ever owned. it works perfect on hardwood floors and low pile carpet. the unit is the easiest to clean and maintain because it does not have a wimpy bag filter. lift the canister off empty and using compressed air clean. the foam filter was a perfect solution to trying to find bag filters that cost way more and the foam filter is durable. I will not mention the other vacuum names I have used but they had lift off hand units w/bag filters and were seriously wimpy at all chores. the selection button for floors or carpet is a great addition to this unit. also the unit is quite compared to the other brands. I look forward to many years of using this vacuum because of the quality built into this machine.

Great odorand control when you have 8 inside cats.

In addition to odor control, this is great for collecting the extreme amount of fur that collects everyday. Thank goodness for the fact that i do not need to purchase bags because i fill up the container each time i vacuum. Great savings and well worth the initial cost!

    Poor quality

While using vac for the second time one wheel fell off and could not be repaired. Had to drop off at Hoover service center for repair. Waiting for vac to be repaired.

Hoover Corded Bagless Cyclonic Stick Vacuum

Received today and of course I had to vacuum my floors--throw rugs, tile, laminate. It was wonderful and I was shocked at how much dirt was in the cup when I was done. I have a Miele and like this stick so much better. The Miele canister is so cumbersome and heavy to pull around and sucks up my throw rugs so much that I have to stand on the corners of the rug. It also does not glide over my tile or laminate easily. But this Hoover is terrific with my throw rugs and it slides beautifully over the tile and laminate. It makes less noise. The cup stuck a bit when I used the release button and I had to open it from the side with my fingers. I think in time it will be easier to open. Oh, I pray this lasts a long time as I love it! My floors look spotless.

    Great Little Vac!!

I love this vacuum! It's like a mini upright vacuum. I was actually surprised at how powerful it is and it works great both on carpeting and bare floors. Sometimes these small vacs just blow particles around on bare floors, but this one does not. It picks up everything. And the dust cup is so easy to clean. My mom has an older Hoover model that has been discontinued. I had searched everywhere trying to find it. But this one must have replaced that one because it works just as well; maybe even better.

    Perfect for my needs

I have wall-to-wall new carpeting in the upstairs bedrooms/hallway. My old Hoover vacuum was actually too powerful - I couldn't push it or drag it back and forth! I had to put it on a floor setting. It was also very heavy. I bought this stick vacuum and it works perfectly on my carpet - glides easily and picks up any dirt embedded. I also use it on my wood floors and laminate flooring downstairs. easy to empty, no bags, the swivel head caught me by surprise just how handy this feature works. The ONLY problem I ran into was is that there is a "screw" that connects the upper handle to the unit. Well it's not a screw - its a pin and when you lower the handle to vacuum it falls out immediately. I just put a one inch length strong tape over the pin to hold it in place and it works fine. The unit is lightweight and the pin isn't causing any problems - but Hoover really needs to fix this problem on their units. I would have given my review a 5 had it not been for the screw/pin mistake.

    Good value

This is the second one of these I have had and for the price it’s a great vacuum for wood or tile floors in between big cleanings. I also use it on a pure white large area rug that is too delicate for the big vacuum and it’s works just great to protect that investment. Love it.

    Great vacuum

This is a great vacuum I even just purchased another one for our beach house. It’s light but has a great pick up power I have a dog that sheds and this vacuum picks it all up and has an easy clean out cup.
