It is a very quiet unit. It seems to clear the air. The unit that I had before this one broke and so when I came into the house I could smell smoke. After this unit ran for a day, I could no longer smell smoke. Hopefully this unit will do the trick. It also seems to act like a fan.
New air purifier

Quiet, but big.

This is the biggest air purifier I've owned. The other two are just little shoebox shaped things that sit on the floor. The height of this one makes me think it's getting and giving better circulation though, just so long as you have somewhere to put it that's not in the way. The machine is quiet enough that you won't have to turn your TV way up to hear over it, but if you don't have anything else going then you'll definitely know this is on. It's sort of white noise though, just a low hum, and easy to sleep through for me. I ran this for two weeks straight and when I opened it up and looked at the filter it still looked brand new. I don't have any pets, so I wasn't expecting it to be filthy, but I thought I might see some dust at least. I do think it's working though, as the room always feels fresh and clean. I also like the fan feature if you want to cool off or just get the air moving in a stuffy room.

Good mid-priced value air purifier

I have been using this product now for several weeks after replacing a much larger, much more expensive air purifier from the same company (Honeywell). Initial impressions were that this was a much lighter, smaller footprint purifier, but the question was whether these also translated to reductions in capability to purify the area surrounding our team's workspace. After a couple of weeks, I have noticed that this purifier initially takes less of a break-in period to get rid of the industrial/chemical smell that was initially present in the larger, more expensive model. Also, while I have noticed that it doesn't have as long of a range, the purification is still just as effective as the other model, while being quieter. Oscillation capability is a major plus as well. Given that it also has a smaller footprint and is less expensive, I would have no hesistation in recommending this as a perfect mid-priced purifier for the room.

Very quiet

I've only had this a few days, so I can't, yet, say how well it cleans the air, but it is quiet, puts out a nice breeze, and it keeps the air moving in a room that has no HVAC vents in it. I do like the oscillating feature, which stirs air around the room. This one replaced a tower fan in a large bathroom that has no ventilation. The old one got so much towel lint in it, I had to take it outside and blast it with canned air every other month. I chose this one because I didn't want to have buy filters. Time will tell if washing this one is easy. I had this type of washable filter on another fan and getting all the little fibers out of the netting was pretty difficult. I have four tower fans and they are all so noisy, I have to turn up the TV when I turn them on. This one is the quietest by far. Overall, I do like it, but it's a bit soon to be writing a review on it. However, WalMart could wait no longer to hear how I like it. It's too soon to give it 5 stars.

Very pleased!

Every time my little grandson would come to visit for the weekend he would leave with a runny nose, congestion, and overall allergy reactions to my two dogs and all efforts to combat it failed. So after his last visit I decided to invest in a air purifier (this one along with a smaller purifier for his room). After reviewing this products online, it's specifications and reviews, I decided to make the investment. It arrived promptly, I love the sleek design, very quiet, and I really like the cleanable filters. But most importantly, my little grandson came for a visit this past weekend and went home with no allergy reactions whatsoever. An extra bonus for me is my home smells cleaner and fresher from "pet" smell. Love this product.

Is it working?

I bought two of these to replace one dead and one dying Sharper Image Ionic Breeze. This Honeywell is quiet on all speeds and moves a good bit of air. The oscillating feature is questionable. It makes the base, which is light plastic, quite wobbly. And to see the whole upper 99% of the unit sweeping back and forth is bizarre and suggests a real failure point where it pivots. But does it clean the air? I have no idea! After six weeks of use I don't see any dirt building up on the "hepa" filter of either unit. In that amount of time with the Ionic Breeze I would see plenty of dirt collected on its shiny metal plates (despite Consumer Reports saying the Ionic Breeze was useless). At least I knew it was doing something. I'm going to wait the three months the manufacturer recommends, then wash the filter and see if I get dirty water the shows if it has trapped anything. For now, I'm not impressed.

You will love it!

This machine is extremely quiet. You only hear the passing of air like a super quiet fan. I live next to a busy road, have 2 dogs and suffer from allergies. My dark furniture is thick with dust in 3 days. I plugged it in and I have not needed to dust in over 10 days so far. I am not coughing all night. I love it!!!

Liked it so much bought another

Have been using the first one for about 2.5 years. No filters to buy is a big savings. The best value for the price, found. I did some research before Christmas, since I wanted to buy one for a gift. All the research led me buy this product again, could not find anything better than this one.
Love it. It smelled at first so I ran it in a room I wasn’t using for about twelve hours and the odor left. Now it perfect and works great

Ok, its not a hepa filter but

I've had one of these for about 4 years, it doesn't have the pre-filter and the model number is a lot different but it has the filter you vacuum out. If you want to use this one as a HEPA filter it's easy, the filters are the same ones as this model that doesn't say "permanent" or "washable" they're listed on the outside of that models box. I've never had a problem with mine and if you see "pollen" or other particles in the sun in front of it, those are the particles in your air being Ionized. I vacuum mine every time I vacuum my room, not once a month like the manual says and it works fantastic, even keeps the odors of my hound dogs under control. Yes, I would recommend this to anyone that wants cleaner air without having to pay for new filters every 30-90 days.
