Window kit needed adjustment to fit my small side 15 inch window in the living room. My friend with a jig saw had this done in minutes. Works great so far. Honeywell has excellent customer service. Called because I could not find the remote that came with the AC. Phone was answered right away and the rep told me where it was packed in the top of the box styrophone.

Perfect size, easy set up, low energy draw...
This unit has a strong fan, a compact size and sets up quickly. We are very pleased with the performance and control options.
Works very well for my mother in a small house!
This is idea for a small house or apartment. Remote makes it easy for controlling tempature or changing to just fan or dehumidifier.
A little difficult to get the hose into the window fitting. With a little mod I was able to use the supplied window adapter in a vertical sliding window, one that slides side to side. Fairly quiet but would like to see an up and down adjustable air deflector, not just left right. Rolls around easily.
Works as advertised
It took a couple months before I needed to use it but I have for a solid week. It is much quieter than my window model. I love not having to lug it in and out of the window should it turn cold (it does a couple times) before putting away for the winter. You will need the extra BTU, even at 8,000 it doesn't cool as well as the window model I had. But the quiet and convenience is a real plus.
didn't hold temp her in Texas it gets hot it might work better in a Northern State
good deal for the size of the unit
Have been using every so often - easy to install - but does take time to cool room down. Only 2 real hot days
After following all installation instructions, I tried to cool a10x10 room. Only cool place is directly in front of the unit. The rest of room remains warm. The room was 80 degrees when I installed the unit. After 2 days of constantly running, the temperature is 73 degrees. It is set at 61. Outside temperature was from a high of 85 degrees to a low of 65. I may return the ac.
Honeywell portable air conditioner
I purchased this AC on line and did not look at it in the store. I wish I had, because if I did, would have found that you can ONLY operate the AC with the remote control. I do not like that, since if damaged or lost, there is NO way to operate this AC. And years from now, if I need a replacement, will Honeywell still stock them at a decent price? The other bad thing about it is there is no UP/DOWN louver air flow adjustment, just LEFT/RIGHT. You would think with this being a portable with roll around casters they would have made it with the UP/DOWN adjustment, not LEFT/RIGHT. With the casters I can move it so that it is pointing in any LEFT/RIGHT direction without needing a louver adjustment. And worse, the air flow is pointed towards the floor. The first day I used this AC when I walked in to the room, you could feel the air above my head being warm and below cool. I had to put a fan in the room pointing upwards to move the cool air near the floor upwards. The window mounting plate seals poorly. Something as simple as providing a foam gasket around the edges would help a lot. And, they do NOT provide a foam strip for sealing the air gap between the upper and lower window sash. Although the window screen stays in with a portable (no bug concerns), I still notice a lot of outside noise (and warm air) coming in between the 2 window sashes. If I had to do it again, I would look at another portable AC to purchase.
This product does not work
I wanted this type of airconditioner since my room faces the front of the house and I did not want a large unit hanging out of the window. My room is small, and it still does not cool like it is supposed to. I would have returned it immediately but I threw away the box too soon. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. I did call the company, they were no help.
