We have used it every night for over 2 weeks to heat an add on to our home that never seems to worm up enough. I do not like using the central heat in the main house but was forced to because of the add on, well once I put this lil heater in that room with its many settings we finally got that room to the perfect temperature for our needs. Every other heater we tried just did not do the job this Honeywell Heat-Genius heater is doing. I definitely recommend this heater for anyone who needs a specific setting of heat, it also has a temperature gauge and dont forget tip-over and overheat protection, a cool touch housing.

L-O-V-E the 2-prong electrical plug vs a 3-prong!
This is the third addition to my Honeywell space heater family. I L-O-V-E Honeywell space heaters. I've attached a photo to show you all of my heaters. The smallest white one I used at work on my desk and it performed fabulously for many, many years, and still does! The larger model to the left (HZ-980) is also great, I've been using it daily, but it is a 3-prong plug which causes logistic issues in an old, 1959 home with about 2/3 of my home still being only 2-prong outlets. This Heat-Genius works just as well, if not better than its larger 3-prong sister, HZ-980, when set to the highest setting. The difference is, I can now take the Heat-Genius to parts of the home, including the garage, where I could never take the HZ-980 before. I love to clean and clear the garage during the cold months, but I've had to bundle up by layering my clothing and weather through the cold. No more! I have a 2-prong outlet available in the 400 sq-ft garage and now I can have heat for the first time ever! So thrilled! But before I begin, I urge everyone to read the instruction manual, including the Warnings section which we all typically gloss passed, for the safety of yourself, your home and loved ones, and the unit. The instruction manual appears lengthier than it really is by its thickness. In fact, it's only six pages, but written in three different languages: English, French and Spanish. So do take the time to read and understand your new space heater before plugging in as some of the instructions initially sound confusing and may require an additional read. Page 4 outlines in more detail how the User can control their comfort. It may take some pressing of the buttons, but with practice, it will get easier to understand. First, I tested the HeatPhase Timer and it worked perfectly. It transitioned from high heat and stepped down every 30 minutes to a lower setting over the next two hours. But it never indicated what high heat setting I started at. The instructions state that this timer can be toggled to start at my desired level, but doesn't state how to perform that function. I'll assume that, by toggling the thermostat before selecting the HeatPhase Timer took care of that. But honestly, there is no temperature indication once the User selects the HeatPhase Timer; the temperature indicator disappears and all you see is the four-phase HeatPhase Timer icon. I don't care for this; I'd like to be able to see the temperature at all times. The other feature to note is the Quiet Mode. The User must understand that, when switching over to this feature from any other setting including the high heat setting, the unit will default to a low heat and fan speed to produce the gentle "white noise." As well, it too will kick off all temperature indication lights; only the power light and the Quiet Mode indicators will remain illuminated. Quiet Mode uses the upper level heating element only. So if the User wants high heat, they cannot have it while using the Quiet Mode. There are three additional pre-set buttons: Floor Area (low heat), Personal (Moderate Heat) and Room (Moderate to High Heat). Again, these buttons are pre-set and the User will not be able to control the actual desired temperature as, it does it all for you. Each setting either uses just the lower heating element, the upper heating element, or both. When turning off this unit, make sure to allow it to power down before unplugging from the outlet. Additional safety features are listed on page 5, along with how to change your unit from Fahrenheit to Celsius, Cleaning and Storing the unit properly, Troubleshooting and Product Specifications. It does not appear there are any removable filters to clean. This unit has a built-in handle, is light-weight, making it easy to transport from room to room. This unit has a 3-year limited warranty with the customer service contacts listed on page 6. I expect many, many years of top-notch service out of this Honeywell Heat-Genius as, this company has never let me down with any of their products. It's a trusted name in the business. We welcome our third Honeywell space heater to our family!
My New Heater
My new heater is awesome. It has so many features to it. You can use it for individual use or to heat up a whole room. I chose to use it to heat up a whole room. If you accidently knock it over it automatically shuts off so it won't catch on fire and it protects from overheating. It also has digital settings. It has six heat settings. And it runs quiet. Out of all the heaters that I have in my house, this is the best one that I have. I would recommend anyone to get this heater. They won't regret it.
Ceramic Space Heater
This Honeywell HeatGenius Ceramic Heater makes my
space so warm and toasty and in such a short amount of
time! Even though I live in Phoenix, it can get very cold,
if only for a few days a year. It's actually more convenient
and less expensive to use the Honeywell Portable Heater
and heat my personal space rather than the entire home.
This Ceramic Heater is so convenient and easy to use.
There are heat settings for the Floor Area, the Whole
Room and Personal Hi and Lo settings. There is a Desired
Temperature Display that shows the temps in Fahrenheit,
but can very easily be switched to Celsius. The Heater
also has a 2 hour shut off Timer so you can turn your
Heater on, get comfy and not have to worry about getting
up later to turn it off.
The Honeywell Heater has a built in Handle that stays cool,
so you can move it around to any desired location, even
after you've used it to warm your space. With the quiet
mode on my Heater, I don't need to turn up the volume
on my TV or talk loudly to be heard. Also, this Heater has
a tip-over switch that automatically turns itself off if tipped
over in any direction.
To clean your Ceramic Heater use a clean dry cloth and
wipe down the outside. Be sure to save your original box
and all packaging to store your Heater in during the off-
If you have any questions or concerns, there is a Con-
sumer Relations toll-free number or website. This portable
Heater has a 3 Year Limited Warranty.
It has been so enjoyable that my bathroom has been
warm and toasty these cold winter mornings using my
Honeywell HeatGenius Ceramic Heater.
This is a nice space heater and it is packed with numerous features! It has separate settings for personal heating space, like under your desk, or you can set it to heat an entire room. It has a programmable thermostat, so it will turn itself on and off, depending on the temperature setting you choose. It also has a timer, which can be set in 30 minute increments up to 2 hours. I like to use the timer function at night in my bedroom. I set it to run for an hour about thirty minutes before I go to bed. That way, my bedroom is nice and toasty when I go to bed, and the heater will safely shut off after I go to sleep. It also has a quiet mode for people who like to have “white noise” when going to sleep. The heater seems very well balanced, has a cool touch housing, and will automatically shut off if it is accidentally tipped over. I may have left out a few features; there are so many!
And just for your information, it stands about 18 inches tall, is 10 inches wide and about 6 inches deep.
I recently got this small heater and immediately set it up in my work office. Someone else in my workplace has the thermostat in their office and I often find myself fairly chilly. My office is about 10'x12' and when I plugged it in, turned it on and sat down I almost immediately found the room sweltering! This little heater put out heat within seconds of me turning it on. Even in the Lo setting or the "Quiet Mode" it keeps my office warm and cozy. It would definitely work great in bigger rooms as well.
I really like the "Quiet Mode" It puts out just enough heat for a small office and is quite quiet compared to the other settings. The other settings sound more like a larger fan, making some background noise that can muffle out other sounds around the office.
The heater ids also quite small, with only a footprint of 10"x7" and only about knee-height, which is nice for small spaces.
Honeywell Heat-Genius Ceramic Space Heater
This little ceramic heater really puts out the heat. I use it down in the basement by my computer in the winter and on really cold days it does a great job of taking the chill off. I recommend it to anybody looking for a little help in keeping warm in colder weather. With a name like Honeywell how can you go wrong?
Larger that you think
I got this heater to replace an older ceramic heater in my office at work here in choosing this I thought it was great that has settings for quiet mode so you can't even hear the fan turning. I like the safety feature that it has the auto shut off if the heater is tilted over. I was receiving this this heater is much larger than I thought it would be. I like the color to black as nice as settings for high and low it has a quiet mode And a digital display. This heater is lightweight and extremely portable it has a handhold so you don't drop it while transporting. For this size I'm actually using at home instead of my office because it is a little larger than the picture of leads it to believe. However with these features the quiet mode and auto shut off if tilted over I would recommend this for anyone for purchase.
Compact Unit, Plenty of Heat
I found that this 1,500 watt Heat-Genius actually is pretty smart, with all its many features, and puts out quite a bit of heat for such a small unit. It heated a 425 sq ft 1 bdrm apartment all on its own. It also can be used as a 'personal' heater in a larger area and controls the direction & type of heat with 6 different settings: Floor, personal, room, programmable thermostat, heat-phase on/off timer and quiet mode (white noise, low warmth). The heat-phase can shut the heat flow off over a 2 hour period by stepping the heat down in 4 levels in 30 minute increments until it shuts off. It can also be set to start at whatever heat level you choose. It has over-heat shut off protection, the housing is cool touch & a very sturdy, wide base to avoid tipping over. A large dog or high-pile carpet could still knock it over or make it less sturdy. Be careful not to place it too close to a wall or furniture. It's a smart buy for sure.
Efficient, compact space heater
I have owned Honeywell products for many years and have always been well satisfied with their quality. This little ceramic space heater is no exception. First, the push-button controls are easy to use, with picture icons corresponding to some of the images over the controls, such as for the whole-room (high) setting and for the floor (low). There are four heat levels with a “HeatPhase Timer” which gradually reduces the heat level over a two-hour period (or other time period as adjusted) until the unit shuts itself off. The “Quiet Mode” (button on the far right) combines a lower, soothing heat level with “white noise” to enable the unit to be operated during sleep.
The unit has some notable safety features: If the unit is accidentally tipped in any direction, it will shut itself off. There is also a control that prevents overheating; if this control is activated, the heater must be unplugged and allowed to cool down before restarting, and if the heater is run at a higher than normal temperature, a fuse will permanently shut it down and the heater will need to be replaced. There are also detailed, comprehensive safety instructions in the user guide which should be read before using the heater for the first time so as to avoid the risk of fire or injury. One of the warnings concerns using the unit on deep pile carpeting. Since I do not have hardwood floors or other firm surfaces, I sat the unit in a flat metal (glass would work too) baking pan, large enough to accommodate the size of the base, to keep the unit from tipping.
I only had two issues with this heater: (1) The manufacturer warns that the unit not be used with a power strip or extension cord, but always plug the heater directly into a wall outlet. I have a small older home with very few wall outlets, and find it necessary to use power strips because the outlets are usually behind cabinets, furniture, etc. For this reason, a longer cord, or some shutoff mechanism allowing the use of power strips, would have been most helpful. (2) The “Cool Touch” grip molded into the back of the unit is somewhat difficult for me to grasp; it seems to have been designed for larger hands. I think a separate hinged handle on top of the unit, that would fold down into the case when not in use, would have been easier to use.
Regardless of these two issues, I think the unit is a great value for the price and therefore recommend it.
