Works great
I purchased this as a whole(ish) house humidifier for our radiator heated home. We had a previous incarnation of it from 10+ years ago and this one is WAY quieter. Love that. The feature that I like is that you can fill the water tanks by leaving them in place or by taking them out. What I don't like is that the flip-up lids come off sooooo easy it's a pain in the butt, but they pop right back on, so no harm. Aside from that, quiet, effective and a nice look in black. One extra thing is that you have to make sure the water tanks are pushed back exactly in place or else they don't sit right and no water comes out at the appropriate time--a couple of times the "no water" light came on but there was a full tank on the one side. A quick adjustment of how the tank was sitting fixed it quickly.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS-Buy the HONEYWELL HMC-6009
This humdifier is a poorly engineered unit with lousy quality control. I bought four of these units. All four of them suffered from the well documented problem of the tanks not emptying properly. Not only is this extremely frustrating, but it defeats the whole purpose of purchasing a humidifier in the first place. My family would wake up in the morning with nose bleeds and sinus congestion because the unit would turn off in the middle of the night. Even though the tanks were full, the unit could not properly detect this and would shut off. I work from home, so during the day when the units would constantly shut off, I would reposotion the tanks, the motor unit, and even the filter to no avail. I should also mention one of the four units had the fan motor burn out in less than two days which is absolutely ridiculous!!! The build quality of the unit is very cheap. The tanks are made of thin blow-molded plastic. The unit is also very loud. I WOULD ESPECIALLY LIKE TO NOTE THAT A LARGE AMOUNT OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ON THIS UNIT ARE BY PEOPLE WHO WERE GIVEN THIS UNIT FOR FREE. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS HERE AND ON OTHER WEBSITES AND AVOID THIS UNIT!!!! I ended up purchasing the HCM-6009 instead, and I love them!!! They are a much higher quality unit than the 680. The 6009 has the same coverage area, features (minus the top fill feauture), and even take the same filters. The 6009 is sturdier, has wheels so you can move it around easier, and is quiter than the 680. MOST IMPORTANTLY IT ACTUALLY WORKS PROPERLY. BOTH TANKS DRAIN PROPERLY AND THE 6009 DOES A GREAT JOB HUMIDIFING OUR HOME.

wish I bought sooner

I was having recurrent sinus infections and nose bleeds for 2 months. I am very sensitive to medications. I don't even take Tylenol. A friend recommended a humidifier. This one seemed to suit my needs as multi-room. I placed it in the dining room, which is midhouse. I could tell the difference within 2 hours. My sinuses are so much better. I haven't had a nose bleed since. I can breathe so much better.

Earthquake proof!

This unit is 100% quality. It's built to hold a great amount of water and the unit itself is built strong, very simple to set up. You fill it up and go! The results? No dry skin, clear nasal passages, this unit lives up to everything it promises. One of the best parts is it stayed put through a moderate earthquake. I live in Southern California, one evening we had a good size jolt. I live near the epicenter so pictures flew off the walls and I lost some candle holders, trinkets off my tables. The console stayed put and even better there was NO LEAKS from the shaking going on. I had the unit filled with water and not one drop leaked out of the unit. The jolt was strong enough to at least produce a leak but this unit is built strong. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can fall asleep with it on over night and if we have another jolt it will live up to it's quality standards. I LOVE this product and plan to use it year round! I tested your Honeywell® Console Humidifier for free, but all opinions are MY own.

The PERFECT Humidifier

This product is great for a large room that requires precise humidity control. We wanted something to assist with the dry air of winter, to help with sinuses and snoring. This machine DOES all of those things in a large open space - we're so impressed. As for a use that isn't advertised: our family owns a multitude of guitars and it has always been a problem trying to maintain the proper humidity for these expensive instruments. With the Honeywell Top Fill Cool Moisture Humidifier, we're now able to move from a system where each guitar's humidity had to be maintained in its' own case, but, now with the Honeywell humidifier we are able to keep the entire large loft area at the proper humidity levels with little effort. The bedroom doors upstairs that are left open have experienced more comfortable sleeping and breathing [read: my husband's snoring has improved!] Couldn't recommend this product more!

honeywell humidifier

Would like unit to have digital controls and tanks that you can see thru. Tops fall off the tanks and for the price you would expect a humidistat. Does put out a lot of water and much better than previous unit that I purchased and returned.

Humidifier

I use this in my bedroom while sleeping. I was very stuffed up when I woke up in the morning. Now I wake up breathing fine. I have a humidity meter that read 11% before I got the unit, now my reading is 25-30%. I'm very Satisfied.

good product

I recently purchased the humidifier and have been using it for 2 weeks. So far it runs very quiet and is easy to fill, I will be curious to see how long the filter lasts.

Great Humidifier for Whole Home!

I've used humidifiers in the past but nothing as large and advanced as this unit. This unit has two tanks on either side holding up to 1 1/2 gallons of water each. (three gallons total). It is about 19 lbs and 22 x 15 inches. I live in the Northeast and it gets very dry here in the winter. This unit did help my skin to feel less dry and my sinuses less stuffy. One thing I will say is that because it is so large it looks kind of awkward unless you have an inconspicuous place for it. To be most effective its also supposed to be something like 4 feet off the wall, which makes it stand out rather than being able to hide it in a corner. It also can be be quite loud when on high (loud humming/white noise, similar to a window ac unit.) The product is meant to cover multiple rooms which is great, but I think for my needs I would be better off with a small single room unit. Overall a good, effective humidifier! Disclosure: I received this product for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. .

Does the job!

***I received this item, free, from Influenster to test and review, all my opinions are my own based on my own experience with this product*** The humidifier came at a great time as my partner was sick, it's been getting colder, and having the heat on makes the air so dry. As others have mentioned, it is large (yet light!) but I suppose a humidifier has to be to work for multiple rooms. It is very easy to set-up and start using. I really enjoyed each of the three settings. The lowest is very quiet and the loudest is great for that white noise effect. I was also surprised to find that it can shut itself off when it reaches the desired humidity setting of your choice. However, it can run all night if you want it to! I used it last night and did not wake up with a dry, scratchy throat as usual and felt more refreshed overall as well. I would definitely recommend this product for any big area or for a person who wants/needs a humidifier running for long periods of time.

2. It's pretty quiet, even on the highest level it's not very loud.
by Stacey
3. Loud. It scares my dogs every time it comes on
by Hillary
4. It actually has three speed settings which increase in noise as you increase speed. I use mine on the lowest setting. The sound on that setting is noticeable but no more so than like an AC or heating unit. So it's audible, but rather easy to tune out.
by An anonymous customer
5. It's actually very quiet and has three settings. If it's on low I cannot hear it all. If it's on medium or high I can hear it a little but no more than a new fan in the summer..
by BrutalBrendaReviews
6. Pretty quiet. You can change the fan speed which helps with the noise.
by influensterNE
7. On low, its pretty quiet.. the rest of the setting (medium/high) you do hear it, but its not obnoxious or really that disturbing.

by babyh1999
