I got this because I don't sleep well in the summer. We keep our house at around 78 degrees at night but with my health issues its too hot for sleep still so I bought this evaporative cooler. It cools my room to a great sleeping temperature and I sleep through the whole night and never wake up now. I start running it about a hour before I go to bed on high then for 5 hours during the night on medium. Since our house is already at a cool temperature when I use it I'm not sure how it would work when it's hotter, it seems like it would work well. I only have 2 slight issues. 1 the label for the buttons is not smooth and doesn't seem like a high quality sticker, it worry it might come off. 2. when I pour water in, it leaks over the edges of the pour spout. I simply just keep a small towel under it when filling and the problem is solved. I also put a folded washcloth over the power button light since its kind of bright for sleeping.

What a great idea!
Not only does this evaporative cooler look good, which is important in its self...but it is also very quite and works so well. The remote is also nice to have! It is nice to have the cool air in the desert climate of Nevada. Best kept secret is it keeps the dust down too as well as keeps my carpet healthy feeling under my bare feet! Of course we know you can always count on Honeywell to produce a good product! Yes I like it!!
Great little unit!!!
This little gem does just what it is supposed to do, it cools you down! Definitely colder than a fan, but no where near as cold as A/C. But that is what this is designed to be! An air cooler!!! Set this up a few feet away from you and you will be feeling fine on a hot day.
it is doing a good job considering it is a cooler not a air conditioner.... the only issue we have with it is the water level marker is not working properly but easy to look in and see the level of water in the back of the unit ...so not enough issue to turn us against it...we could take it back to get another one but this one is working so good other wise not worth all that hassle....
I bought this air cooler not knowing it was not an actual room conditioner. It came in a box and is not heavy at all I carried it from my porch to the bedroom without any effort. It doesn't need any ensembles or Window attachments I was so relieved that it only needs water and it rolls with the wheels.
Works great in a DRY climate!
I read the reviews before I bought this and saw the negative ones. Most of them seemed to have one thing in common...the people lived in a humid climate. Evaporative coolers DO NOT WORK IN A HUMID CLIMATE. This is basically a small, portable "swamp cooler," not an Air Conditioner. Having said that, there *was* an issue with my unit that was preventing it from working correctly. I looked in the water gauge window and saw that the hose to the water pump was not seated in the pump as it should have been. I unplugged the machine, removed the screws from the filter cover on the rear of the unit, removed the filter cover and *carefully* removed the cardboard honeycomb material. Inside the unit there is clear plastic tubing. One end of this tubing has a black rubber piece on it...this is the end that should be seated into the hole on the top of the water pump (the square black deal affixed to the bottom of the tank). If you are having issues, you may want to check to be sure that your hose is connected to the pump correctly. Once I fixed mine, it worked like a charm! (I have a very small loft bedroom and this unit actually makes it comfortable up there on 90+ degree days!)
I have the cooler in my bedroom that is not a large room. It keeps the room at a comfortable level until it gets a little warm outside.I would recommend the the cooler for the months that aren't in the 80's and higher summer months. If you don't move around its comfortable and the air is much more cleaner in the bedroom now due to the fan on the unit that I use at night when I go to bed. It has helped me breath a lot better because it is so dry here in New Mexico.
Didn't change room temperature
I live in Tucson AZ, and bought this to cool my bedroom. I work nights and have to sleep during the day, so it gets pretty warm even with the A/C. It didn't change room temperature, just felt more humid. It does feel like cool air is coming out of it, but it has to be blowing DIRECTLY on you to make a difference
looks nice. remote included but needs more power.
This was a gift for my daughter to keep her cool this summer but returning as it is not powerful enough. The high button seems more like a low button. It is not enough to cool you off. Now buying her a window shade instead. Windows are vertical sliding so can only have a portable a/c which is too costly. I would suggest saving money for portable a/c instead of a cooler--just doesn't cool enough.
Waste of money.
Honestly, I hate giving bad reviews but this item is definitely a waste of money. Even on the highest setting it doesn't cool down even the smallest of rooms. You literally have to be up in front of it to feel anything. It's not worth the money. I am very disappointed. Not even worth the 1 star.
