Completely satisfied. Very effective dehumidifier.

Completely satisfied. Very effective dehumidifier.

So far So good

I have been using it for a week and it is working as specified collecting one bucket of water in 24 hours from my basement. So far i have not used the heater option so would comment on that.

Good as dehumidifier, not really as a heater

Short story, get the 70pt model or the one with the built in pump. I bought this as kind of an impulse buy. Our finished basement has always been a bit moist but this year it started to have a smell so I knew I had to do something to reduce the moisture level. When I saw there was a dehumidifier out there that had a built in heater I was excited because I could use this to remove moisture in the summer, keep the pipes from freezing in the winter. Well not exactly…. As a dehumidifier this thing is perfect. Works very well. It really makes the air feel cleaner. For such a small unit I was amazed as it seemed to work better than the old one we use to have, was quiet, and consumed less power (according to my kill-o-watt). I read reviews that this unit creates too much heat. All I can say is it's about half the amount compared to my old unit. Also the humidity level is a bit off. If you set it around 50% it barely increases the heat in room. Anything lower I notice it will run and run and will make it feel warmer. I Read complaints about the bucket, I actually liked the design though it takes a couple of times to remove/install it. Ultimately I decided to return this unit. I really didn't want to because it looked so nice! Why? Because of the heat option. I was hoping I would be able to turn it to 50 degrees and leave it on in the winter in an area where pipes are known to freeze in our house. Well you cant really do this because once you switch it to heat mode, the fan turns on and runs and runs and runs. It will never turn off. So if you set it to 50 degrees and its 75, the fan will still run and run forever. I know this isn't a space heater, but I thought since it had a heat unit built in that I would be able to use it. Im actually not really sure what its purpose is. On the Q/A on here it says that using it to heat a room in the winter might decrease its life span. So why else would you have a 1200 watt heater built into it? Also just a note, you can use the heat mode or the dehumidifier mode at one time, not both (not sure why you would) Pros Quiet compared to an older one we use to have. Compressor is very quiet. - Really circulates the air well, doesn't just sit there and hum like some units - Looks GREAT, don't just stick this in a utility room. You can keep this in any room and no one will even know it's a dehumidifier! It's also very thin, could keep it in a hallway if needed. - Cycles on and off on the appropriate dehumidifier mode option, fan and condenser will turn off once the level is reached. - REALLY removes the moisture in the air. You will be amazed - Heat mode gives off a nice warm heat, seemed very safe compared to a space heater. Cons – Heat mode option doesn't allow the fan to turn off once the air is up to temp. It will run forever. - Plastic will scratch easy if you're concerned. I wouldn't call this a unit that you would move a lot or call industrial. Kind of a hard appliance plastic. - Filter still the cheap screen type. I was hoping since it had an option to turn off if the filter was dirty, might mean it had some better filtration. This isn't really a con, just wanted to mention it. - Accuracy of the humidity level is a bit off - Interesting packaging. I didn't have issues with this but its on the light side for sure.

Heater is not that good.

The dehumidifier works excellent! However, the heater is terrible! It would not blow hot air. It only blows whatever the room temperature is! I do not know if it is broke or not, but it is too much of an inconvenience to return it.
