First of all, no instructions came with the product. After figuring it out, we started using the winding mechanism & it broke within five minutes. We are hoping that it holds up through the winter since we are disappointed overall.
I bought this cover based on the almost unanimous bad reviews of the Intex covers - one of which I owned prior to this one and that teared after a couple of months. So far, it's doing the job - in extreme conditions, my pool being in a very windy spot.
For the price this is a good product. The actual cover itself is pretty thin, but has stood up to some pretty strong winds. You get a complete kit with ice pillow and locking cable to secure the cover. Unless you want to spend double the money for a little thicker cover I would buy this product.
I assumed this cover was more than a large piece of black tarp. What I had wanted was more like the covers you sometimes get when you buy the pool itself. A rubberized material with a nice wieght to it. It doesn't stay on even after you use the padlock. It's NOTHING like the picture. Not even the same color. BIG DISAPPIONTMENT.
the so called air pocket that was supposed to keep the tarp up leaked, the first big wind storm we had blew the tarp inside the pool, this is suppose to be a product you should only have to put on your pool once and forget about it till spring, not something you have to babysit daily.
This product is horrible. It looks good on the picture but it does not look like that in your pool. Once you empty your water down below pump level for the winter it sinks in and gathers water and debris! The pillow that it comes with loses air and does not work at all. We had to buy 2 and they still didnt work. The eyelets tear very easy too. The pully system broke the first time we tightened it. We had to put stakes in the ground and run rope through each eye and hold it down. This is not a good cover at all.
Not as expected, does not fit my intex pool, it was too large, buy a smaller one if you have a 18' pool Had to bunch up the tarp to make it work. metal tightner is cheaply made, broke and I had to fix it
