I've bought a lot of these and other shapes to paint(acrylics), bedazzle a bit and decorate my place. A dark color usually requires 1 coat and 2-3 coats for lighter shades. Since they're on my walls, I didn't apply a clear coat. Dpending on your project, you might want to apply one. They're cute, especially for kids, and you can't beat the price.
