We already have 3 Hatchimals, which our children (6 & 10) have loved to play with. They were thrilled when I showed them that we had been sent a mystery Hatchimals in exchange for an honest review and some time spent playing with it. The hatching process probably took 1 1/2 hours, maybe two. One of the most exciting parts is the hatching, but add in the reveal of the mystery animal, and the kids couldn't have been happier. Obviously the time it takes to hatch could be shorter (based on convenience alone), but I think that would take away the excitement. We love that the kids were able to do more teaching and learning (name, games, dancing, playing music) with this Hatchimals than those of the past. Overall, this is even better than we anticipated, and great for ages 6 to 38 (based on my family's experience), but probably any age. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

My daughter already owned a Hatchimal, but this was her first Mystery Egg. The Hatchimal hatched on its own, without any problems, and is very well made. We love its softness and detailed wings. Rhe color of its “feathers” is also great! It makes different noises and plays different songs than the first generation Hatchimal. It also seems more responsive to my daughter taking care of her versus the previous model toy. All in all I am very impressed. And so is my child! This toy Hatchimals Mystery is the best toy i have seen in a while. I recommend it for any age. Its a no fail for CHRISTMAS.. Any age I believe would enjoy this. I plan on buying some for my nieces and nephews and mails them out. Totally cute toy. If they only had toys like this when I was a kid I would have loved it. My daughter was very excited to find out that she was going to receive this product. She said that she was most excited because she did not know which Hatchimal she was going to get since it is a "surprise" which made the anticipation of it hatching even more fun. It didn't take long for the mystery animal to begin trying to peck out of the shell after some rubbing and petting. That process took a long time, probably 30 minutes for us to start to see the actual animal inside. And after that time, it got stuck in one position and we had to keep turning it off and on to make it work right. After about 45 minutes we gave up and manually broke it out of its shell. It was a little tough to get it out and we were afraid to pull too hard in fear of breaking it, but my husband got it out. It really is adorable! We loved that it came with a chart to show you what its different colors mean so you can do the appropriate action to make it learn and "grow" and be happy. It is very interactive, the sounds it makes are super cute (and I love that there is a volume control). I now see what all the hype was about a few years back - it is a great toy! The laughter that filled the house from my 12 year old daughter was so wonderful! My daughter Emma loved this!!! Its a great toy, easy to use, kept her attention,( it wasnt played with for 15 mins and abandonded), the whole family laughed and giggled and had a great time! I actually have purchased 3 more as Christmas gifts because both my daughter and son completely fell in love. If has gave them something to do, reminders, and made them use those little brains to remember to do things with it. The spin being we got the #mysteryhatchimal made it even more cool. The little surprise effect made it even more fun! Also goes to show you my children are twins, boy and girl, age 11 and they both loved it!!
