Great hand mixer-bowl part is not so good

So far, this has been a good hand mixer. Plenty of speed and it doesn't throw food out of the bowl as I have read about people complaining about this on other mixers. The mixing blades are a little hard to put in the mixer. One goes in easy, (either side), but then the other one doesn't want to go in very well. I would rate it higher and recommend it if not for the bowl and stand. The part that turns the bowl is cheaply made and doesn't turn the bowl. The mixing blades stay about 1 1/4 inches from the side of the bowl. And of course, the mixing blades are not as well made as my old one. My old hand mixer lasted me 40 years. I really just wanted a hand mixer (in red) and for the price, it is ok. Do not buy if you want a bowl mixer. I don't know if I will use the other mixing attachments. I don't cook much at all. I bought mine 9-21-15 and haven't used it but 2-3 times. But I still don't think it will last me another 40 years! I am sure you could find a less expensive Hamilton Beach hand mixer only. But I don't know if you could find one in red.

The price is right, but not the quality. I have FAITH that one day I will be buying products made in the USA again, hope I'm not to old by then, but keeping the faith! Let's start with the bowl, the bowl is a plus, it's durable and the right size for me. The hand held mixer has many speeds that I like, the colour (red/merlot) and style, but it's a bit on the heavy side. The stand is very cheaply made and does not look and feel durable, I don't use mine that often so I'm hoping that it will last me a bit longer. Just be careful when attaching the hand held mixer to the stand, because you can crack or brake the clip that fits into the groove that holds it together. The mixer is a bit heavy like I said, so don't leave it on the stand and then lift the neck, it can break off and you will not be able to leave it and walk away. But other than the quality, it's great for the price and I do like it, it serves the purpose, I wish KITCHEN AID will come up with a product this size, and affordable for everyone, it will be GREAT!

I was so excited when I got this mixer, the versatility it offered being hand and stand mixer. I made marshmallows first and you could tell the mixer didn't like it. It handled meringues beautifully. Then I was making sugar cookie dough when my step daughter walked in and looked at me funny. I told her my mixer was screaming at me and she laughed. It sounded like it was screaming though, protesting my recipe. Then it smelled like it was burning a bit. But it finished and I baked my cookies. Then my daughter had a Christmas party at school so I tried my sugar cookies again. In the middle of the recipe I turned it off to scrape the bowl and it never turned back on. It left me stranded... I only used it maybe 5 or 6 times so to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for. I should have known better than to get a mixer so cheap. Will likely get kitchenaid next.

Purchased this mixer because it looks good and was inexpensive to boot. I read a few reviews after I had placed the order which made me feel a little hesitant as to whether I would end up keeping it. To those who complain about certain features, like the bowl not rotating on its own or the mixers not grabbing the edges of the bowl, yes that is true, HOWEVER it's a mixer that is under $20 so if you want those extra features go ahead and spend $300 . . . me I'll stick to this little guy. Used it for all my Thanksgiving baking needs and I found that the blender is quite powerful. I never moved it past the first setting and the fact that there are 6 total is very impressive as to how powerful it can be. The removable feature more than compensates for the fact that the bowl does not rotate so you can just blend the items fully yourself to get everything incorporated. Also the glass bowl is beautiful, has a nice weight and thickness to it and I would imagine that the purchase of such a bowl equals the price of the entire mixer. My sister came by and saw it in use and is purchasing one for herself as well as for a friend as a Christmas gift. Need I say more?

I purchased this mixer hoping it would be decent for the price and I was pleasantly surprised.. I just made red velvet cupcakse with cream cheese frosting in it.. The mixer can be removed to be used a hand mixer if u desire and locks on the stand that raises up and down.. Nice glass bowl.. That you can slide from side to side to make sure everything gets mixed evenly, I was curious to see if it keep the contents inside of the bowl which it did, I had no mess I even put in on high speed just to see, it worked great.. I can't wait to use it again.. Comes with (2) beaters (2) dough hooks (1) wire wisk.. Only down side to mine once I got it out of the box there were a few scratches on the side of it, which were not major enough that I decided to keep it instead of going through the hassel of returning..

It's Not a $300 Kitchen Aid but Still Works Fine

When I fist saw this mixer for under $20 I was surprised and thought it was a mistake. No mistake. I bought it for a girlfriend last Christmas. She's not a big baker but she has made a couple cakes with it and it does a great job. I guess the heavy glass bowl could be lighter and have a handle, as some reviewers suggested. And the motor vents could be located better but for $20, it's a wonderful mixer. Sure, a $300 Kitchen aid is probably better but not 15 times better. Even if this unit has to be replaced every few years, it's still a bargain. It makes me realize that the high priced mixers are very overpriced and those companies are profiteering. It is a lot easier to enjoy a $20 mixer compared to a $300 mixer (unless you like to show off.)

I have used this mixer for several years as a hand mixer and when it wore out I found that the same mixer came with a detachable stand and bowl for a similar price. As other reviewers have said this is not as powerful as a kitchenaid because it is just a hand mixer but it does work well for cake mix, a batch of cookies, etc. The nice thing about the stand is that it is convenient for recipes that require a longer mix time. For the price, if it lasts a few years, it is worth it. The motor finally gave out on my last mixer because I used it alot for cooky dough at Christmas, probably on larger batches than it is built for. I would buy this brand again and the stand is an added feature. The one problem I found with the stand is that the knob that holds the beater to the stand can slip out of place. It is easily popped back in and doesn't happen now that I know what to watch for.

Don't believe the more positive reviews on here. I doubt they are real. I bought this product based on reading a lot of the reviews, and because I really wanted a stand alone mixer, and I didn't want to pay over $700 for one, and I have to say that I was highly disappointed! The first and only time I used it was preparing to make some cakes and pies for Christmas. As soon as you cut it on it was super loud, and that's only at the first speed setting. And, the bowl does not move like it says it does, nor does the mixer. To move the bowl there is a little handle at the bottom that the bowl is sitting on, and you have to manually move it from side to side which is really tiresome. All this really is is hand mixer with a stand for it! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It was truly a waste of money and time. Also, just as a side note to anyone that isn't able to print out a return receipt, so you can return it to the store: It cost $20.12 to have it shipped back via USPS which was way more than I paid for the mixer! I paid $18.97 when it was on sale, and that's without taxes. In all seriousness, never buy this mixer!

It also has a lever on the front of the base that allows you to slide the bowl from left to right so that the beaters go from the center of the bowl to the edge of the bowl - you don't miss anything that way. The mixer does have a button on the site that allows you to press in, then lift the mixer out of the bowl.
