    fast, yummy ice-cream
This ice-cream maker is FAST! it says 20-40 minutes...we shut it off at 20 minutes. The recipes you can create once you've mastered the basic are endless. One tip, when you wash the insert prior to re-freezing, wipe out really well or you have ice forming and the paddle will not turn. Also, if you wait too long to turn the machine on after you have poured in your mix, it will begin to freeze to the wall/bottom of the bowl and the paddle will not turn.

I purchased a canister ice-cream maker years ago and if died on me after 10+ years. I thought this would be a good replacement __I was wrong. The motor is weak and stopped spinning within moments of starting. I was very disappointed and returned the product.

Great unit for quick ice cream!

I have gone dairy free in my diet, and use Vanilla Almond Milk in place of regular milk. I love ice cream, so wanted an alternative. I did some research as one reviewer said this would not freeze the almond milk properly. I found a suggestion of using a mashed banana to thicken the milk, and it worked perfectly. I stirred the mashed banana in with the almond milk, added a little Stevia and some frozen sliced strawberries, and in 25 minutes had delicious Almond Milk Ice Cream! I am going to try other fruits in the future, but use the mashed banana as a base. This unit was well worth the price. Just be sure you put the inner container in the freezer for 18-24 hours before you try to make the ice cream.

I have used my ice cream maker twice now. The first time I think my cooked custard may have not been cooled enough. The ice cream tasted good but was too soupy. The second time I used the uncooked method and it turned out much better. It is a soft serve which is fine with me. I used to wait till summer to have homemade ice cream. It was always a lot of trouble with all the ice and rock salt. Now I plan on having it 2 to 3 times a month all year long. I like that it only makes one and one half qts. I'm keeping it out on the counter so it will be handy and it is a nice looking machine. I'm looking forward to trying different recipes and different add in's.

    loved this product!

It makes wonderful soft serve ice cream in 20 minutes! I've used it three times now and each time it was 20 minutes. Really makes more than 4 cups. More like 5. Enough for left overs for both of us the next nite. Love using different flavors of instant pudding to create delish cold icecream

    Great little ice cream maker

We bought this ice cream maker so we could make ice cream more often and with less fuss. I read the reviews and was impressed with them so bought this type and brand. So far after two batches, it does great. Is easy to clean. Haven't figured out why some say it is difficult to clean, but that is not the case.

I love this little ice cream maker. Saves money on salt and ice and time. You have to let it sit in the freezer for over 24 hours to work. Down side is I put my frigid ice cream mix in the gel bucket when I took the bucket straight from the freezer and poured it in the gel bucket, the mix froze up on the sides right away making it to where the paddle couldn't even be placed in correctly. So I had to dump the mix in another container and then run HOT water in the gel container till I got the frozen mix out. Suggestion: Take gel container out of freezer and let it sit out a few minutes before adding your ice cream mix. Maybe run some warm water in it before adding your mix. It takes no time to make up a batch. It is quiet compared to the other types. It is easy to clean up after you got your ice cream made. Also after cleaning and air drying I put the gel bucket right back in the freezer so it is ready for another time. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because of the freeze up problem I had with it. Other than that it is awesome :-)

    Great little machine

My wife and I wanted a small machine to make frozen custard, and after shopping a bit, thought this would fill the bill. We've only used it once, but - so far - it did the trick! The 1.5 quart size is perfect for the two of us. Other reviews talked of problems if the canister wasn't completely frozen, or the mixture not properly chilled, so we made sure to leave the canister in the freezer overnight, and chilled the mixture for about eight hours... We loaded the machine, and in no more than 10-15 minutes, the blades began to reverse constantly, signalling completion, and sure enough, we had frozen - really frozen - custard... Delicious! I would absolutely recommend this little treat maker for anyone wanting to make a small batch of sweet treats!

    Works Great!

Have used the ice cream maker twice so far and it has performed perfectly. So simple freeze the tub, assemble the paddle, turn on and add ingredients through hole in lid. 25 minutes later you have soft serve ice cream. Nothing could be simpler.

So far the first attempt of ice cream was a failure. I had previously bought the old fashoned Ice cream maker and had to switch the maker to finish. Not impressed at all.

    1. No. According to the directions, you have to let the bowl sit in the freezer for 24 hours between batches.
    by corockiesr4me
    2. Leaning toward no. It is difficult to clean out all of one batch. Usually would have to clean with water. This will thaw the container. Also, the container should be very cold when making ice cream and it will warm up when the first batch is made.
    by 2Pens
    3. Thank you for your question. For best results, the freezer bowl must be frozen thoroughly.
    by HBBrandsCustomerService
    4. no, you have to re-freeze the bowl prior to making it again. you can make it in advance, but that's not as good as fresh.
    by apple546321
    5. Yes, but the freezer bowl is still frozen inside. so cleaning out before reusing is tricky.
    by Sucee
    6. No. You have to refreeze the gel container that you make the ice cream in. It is what is used instead of ice to freeze the mixture.
    by rowan2001
    7. Haven't tryed to do 2 batches. But I don't think so. The gel will have to refreeze before making another batch.
    by HellridgeGal
    8. You could give it a try. But the gell canister might not still be cold enough.
    by SuzyBaby
    9. No
    by allbadreviews
    10. Nope. You have to wait approximately 24 hours (it is that way with all the gel canisters, btw).
    by TroutCreekMama
    11. Only if you have another cylinder already frozen. You won't get 2 batches out of just the one.
