    This Thing is Junk!

DO NOT buy this thing! I bought this brand new from Walmart and not even a month later it had started rusting inside. All the white paint inside the microwave and all the black paint inside the door is bubbling up and flaking off in large pieces. It looks horrible! No, it's not because it's dirty. I am an obsessed neat freak and I keep my microwave spotless at all times. I see all the other reviews on this microwave talk about the same problem. This is just a cheap piece of junk. I don't know if this happens with all Hamilton Beach microwaves, but I sure won't ever buy one made by this company ever again! Not recommended!

    Defective product

I purchased this microwave less than a year ago and the enamel on the inside is peeling off, the paint is discoloring, and the plastic on the door is pitting. This microwave has had very light usage, one in the morning to heat coffee, once at night to cook veggies that's it. I've contacted the parent company Galanz about this obviously defective product and they refuse to stand behind it because I no longer have my receipt. When speaking with the support supervisor he told me that I shouldn't expect to get more than a few years from this model, WOW. I got 21 years out my last microwave. Bottom line don't waste your money

    It is cooking itself

I have had this unit for a few years now and noticed a discoloration under the turntable plate. The plastic liner is slowly "cooking off" over the last few months. See attached images, 1 with camera flash and 1 without. I am starting to smell burning plastic as well.

    Doesn't last long

Yes, it could last a little longer. I had a fridgadaire that I had for 10+ years, we moved, bought this and it's not even 4 years old, worked fine but then just stopped today. i cleaned out the vent in back, checked the door switches, but heated up hubbies dinner, but wouldn't do mine, got it to do a 'mild' warm up, but after that nothing. We use this alot, so time for a new one. They don't make 'em like they use to! ;)

Great product for a low price.

I really like the feature on beverage. You touch the pad once each time for 4, 8, 10 & 12 ounces. Heated perfect for the size of beverage. Light is on when door is opened & machine is running. Popcorn pops perfectly! YUM. :) Features many one touch buttons very convenient. I also like the 30 second plus button. In case you have a senior moment it also reminds you with a chime that something is waiting for you in the oven. LOL. Since it has 1,000 watt power it has enough power to cook things quickly. So far, no complaints from this gal. Great machine for a low price.

    happy with HB

my HB microwave, this model, died this morning. checked the receipt and was purchased l year and 2 weeks ago. after a few swear words, mainly at walmart's current return policy which used to be the best around and now is just that silly 90 days, decided to call the HB folks, just for the heck of it - to maybe ask if barely more than a year of usage is normal. well, much to my surprise, they'll mail me a full refund check! just got under the wire time-wise, fortunately, and all I have to send them is the receipt and the label from the back. I had assumed I'd have to send them the microwave, but no - just the label and receipt. excellent customer service! and, for as long as it lasted, no complaints about the micro, worked just fine - right up till this morning.....would recommend, just be sure you get back to them within the one year warranty, give or take 2 weeks if it dies on you.

    WOW! This Thing's BIG!!

Maybe it's just me, but this thing's big. My previous micro was 0.9 cu/ft. This is only 1.1 - HUH? When I put my coffee cup in to heat it up, it looked soooo small. It's a 12.5 oz cup that stands 6.5 inches high. I like coffee in a REAL cup. This cooks evenly and far faster than my poor old one (R.I.P.). I think I'll keep it. Sorry, no pics yet. Maybe later so I can make everyone hungry. Great price, even with the additional "island shipping surcharges" which just started at WalMart. I can't get close to the price I paid from Wally. Not on my tourist island. It cooks everything I put in it, very nicely. With the carousel/turntable in it, nothing is unevenly cooked, even my Mac-n-Cheese, YUM! Speaking of which......See Ya...LUNCH TIME!

One year and few days then...

The price was right and I didn't even install it for a month after I purchased it because of the weight of the one I replaced. It goes in a compartment over the stove and is braced in place. I finally put it in myself and it has been a little iffy since the first time I used it. Today, after purchasing July 3, 2017, I put some microwave bacon slices in. They did not cook. So I closed the door and without having to enter a time on the timer, it started and will not turn off unless I open the door. I reset the breaker, hoping that would help. No go. Unplugging and tossing yet another Hamilton Beach microwave. Three in 5 years. I'm done.

    Picture's Speak For Itself!

My wife & I purchased this microwave around 1 and a half years ago. It did well at first then we started noticing how the enamel on the inside was peeling off and rusting. Then the plastic on the door started peeling off. Recently while heating up food & beverages, we noticed that blue sparks were coming from the door where it was peeling. We tossed it in the trash!! Picture's speak for itself. I would not recommend this microwave at all!!
