Amazing!

$120.00 later I find this stuff. Left my pool uncovered this past winter and had the biggest mess this spring. My water was a black green. It is a 13500 gallon pool. I vacuumed up as much stuff at the bottom as possible considering I could not see it. I went through 4 bottles of 5-pound turbo shock and all it did was turn it a lime green. I even dumped in 10 gallons of bleach with a dose of Turbo shock. After reviewing this on YouTube I thought what the heck it's only 20 more dollars and I was amazed! 4 hours later my pool went to what the picture looks like. You must follow the instructions on the package or you will not get these results. You do not filter your pool after adding the green to blue. That is very important. And if you cannot vacuum to waste, which I think most sand filters can, then this product is not for you. All you will do is recreate the problem if you cannot waste it out. Definitely worth the $20.

Nightmare

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this product. After adding part II (rust color powder) to my skimmer the entire surface of the pool was brown. Every five minutes I had to clean out my filter. I left the filter off overnight expecting to see a crystal clear pool in the morning. It was no different then when I started with the exception of brown particles flowing on the surface. I tried to skim using the filter but it continually clogged the filter. I then tried to skim with a net. The particles went right through the net. I have never spent this much time opening my pool. I will never buy another HTH product. What a waste of $

I was skeptical, but it worked!

We have a 27 foot above ground pool. I found this product online but was extremely skeptical! I read hundreds of reviews most good, but some not so good. My husband typically takes care of the pool but he had been so busy and I was having a party for my 7 year old twins soon, so I was desperate! The pool had been opened a few weeks prior and was never crystal clear, blue yes but cloudy. Right before I was due to have the party it turned green. I decided to give this a shot since I had spent hundreds of dollars on other stuff with no luck! My husband thought I was crazy especially when I woke up to a brown coating on top of pool, but then we went out there and looked and could finally see the bottom of pool. It took about 4 hours of vacuuming and skimming and I lost a good amount of water vacuuming to waste, but I just kept filling it as I went.......I can't believe in 48 hours my pool went from dark green to blue! I would not only use this again I would tell everyone I know to ty it too......

Wonderful product that really works!

I have a large inground fiberglass pool that holds approx. 18,000 gals of water. My pool turned into a swamp due to severe weather & things falling off the trees into the pool. I used this product without many expectations, but figured it couldn't hurt. When used as directed, it worked wonderful! I put stage 1 directly into the deep end of my pool, waited about 15 minutes, & added stage 2 directly into my skimmer. I let the filter run for about one hour. The next morning, my water was clear & I could see the bottom of my deep end with no problem! It is a mess to vacuum out since you have to do it to waste & go very slow so as not to stir anything up, but the stuff that settled overnight came up very easily and did not stain my pool at all. I did have to vacuum again the next morning for a little bit of stuff that settled again over night after the initial vacuuming, but that was it. No extra shock needed! This was so simple & easy to use, I have stocked up on it so I have it on hand in case I get this problem again.

Best Solution for Green Pool from Algae

I don't usually write product reviews but after buying this last night, putting it in my pool at 8 PM, turning off the filter at 9 PM, and vacuuming from 6-7 AM, my pool went from a dark green tint to clear ("blue" if you're liner is blue) in less than 12 hours. I had been struggling with algae all season long, but it got really bad two weeks ago. After numerous shock and algaecide treatments I decided to give this a try hoping that this would work like magic. I was extremely happy to wake up and find a crystal clear pool with lots of brownish sediment at the bottom. After vacuuming all of this brown debris to waste I can finally have people come to the house to use the pool again without it being an embarrassing green color. Hopefully the algae doesn't come back again this season, but if it does I know I can get rid of it with $15 and an hour of vacuuming. NOTE: MY POOL IS A ROUND, 24 FT ABOVE GROUND AND ONE BOX WORKED FINE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Shocked about the shock

After several days of rain my pool was a mess! Inground, 25,000 gals, 36X16. I went to walmart to get some shock and because its mid season for pools they were OUT. only thing on the shelf was this kit, Green to Blue. I was real skeptical and because I really did have a choice I purchased the kit. My Pool was not balanced, low PH, Low AKL, but I had no choice. followed directions and YES you must be able to vacumm to WASTE. I was SHOCKED and amazed at how well this product worked. I don't think regular shock would have done as well as this product. As a matter fact I dont think my pump has work this well ever! the jets are clearly pushing more water than before. I wouldn't use this treatment on a scheduled basis because the amount of drop that gets vacuumed to waste is a lot; a lot of work. Thinking back on many of seasons where my pool was a mess and needed this treatment, where I spent $$$$, I could have resolved it for $20. I am picking up a few kits as back up in case it gets hard to find.

saves money in the long run

ok i see where most of you are making the mistake. I have to use 2 boxes for my pool or it does just stay on top of the water. do not put your pump on filter you have to put it on whirlpool. then when you vacuum it you have to vacuum on drain or waste u cannot run it threw the filter. I use it every summer and it lasts for about a month. best product ever.
AMAZING!!!!!! We have been struggling for 2 months with our 30 FT round above ground pool. It was always cloudy. I have totaled up the cost (!!!$499.79!!!) of all the chemicals we have purchased since 6/1/12 and I am sickened that we have thrown so much money into our pool and we still couldn't see the bottom. Every place we went with water samples would give us a different remedy that didn't work. A friend mentioned GREEN To BLUE from HTH and the price was only $15 at Walmart, so we figured lets give it a try. I followed the directions and used 2 boxes last night. At 7am this morning the pool was totally clear and everything was clumped up on the bottom. (we didn't start until 10pm) Tears of Joy!!!! Of course you have to vacuum to waste. This is very important. If you can't do this then it won't work. I can't believe how quickly it worked and that it only cost me $30!!!

Nightmare!

I purchased this product with high expectations only to be straddled with a five day nightmare. The product did clear the water but removing the sediment from the bottom of the pool was horrific. I had no idea that the sediment would be of such a fine powdery consistency which, if you make any type if ripple in the water, would again spread throughout the pool! As instructed, I tried to vacuum it to waste only to find it extremely difficult to do AND the waste of water was inconceivable. For days I had to TRY to sweep the sediment in to a corner of the pool so that when I vacuumed it to waste, I would minimize the water wasted. Being in California, this is not a product I will use again for the time involved and the waste of water! Instead of turning the sediment in to a powdery consistency, it would seem a larger type of sediment binder that you could scoop out with the fine net would be a better fit - sort of like kitty litter!

best pool cleaner ever

i hardly ever write reviews but i had to with this product! i have a 4ft deep pool 18x33 about 15000 gallons of water. where i live is open farm land near my pool. so the winter winds will rip to shreads any cover i put on. so every year i have to clean out my pool which would have a pile of pine needles of about 3ft circle by 1ft high. i rarely ever get to see the pattern of my liner over the years. also my pool was the darkest shade of green you have ever seen. after i vacuumed out the pine needles what i could feel not see. i decided to try this product. each box will treat 5000 gallons of water. so i bought 4 boxes to be safe. i followed the directions and i closed off my valve to go through filter. it went through my skimmer to pump and return right to pool while i added the chemicals. ran pump one hour no filtering just to mix the stuff up like the directions tell you. i vacuumed to waste 1 day refilled at night, then vacuumed next day refilled at night. within 2 days of vacuumming to waste my pool water was crystal clear. i woke up to a beautiful pool after the second day. i can see the little rock shapes on the bottom of my pool liner. this was the best money i ever spent on pool chemicals ever.
