The function of the laptop was great. It was very quick to start up and use programs and didnt get hot after a few hours of use. The beats audio also made a huge difference in the quality of sound when listening to music or watching movies.
However, there was major damage to the case. It looked like it was dropped on it's corner and there is a crack around the screen, the speaker case is broken and the clip holding the back of the laptop together was busted so there is a gap. I did return it because the physical damage was more than what I wanted.
You take a risk buying refurbished though because when ordering you never know what the original problem was. I was considering buying another one but then decided against it because I didnt wan...

- 5 out of 5 stars review12/6/2012I was actually holding out for a much better laptop (I7 processors, blue-ray disc player, solid-state disc drive), but saving up enough ($1200-$1700 depending on other features) it would have been quite a while. I just couldn't pass this up. 8-gb is still more than my desktop (which I still plan on upgrading to 8) and I can easily up-grade this laptop to 16-gb and the quad-core processors are much faster than my dual-core. The video card is also very good. Even though it does have Beatsaudio I have purchased speakers for it. I just like the separation. I guess I'm spoiled by the speaker system on my desktop. I've separated the pros and cons into lists to make the review more digestible. I set everything up and I cant tell that it was a refurbished except for very minor issues that do not bother me one bit. I can tell that the G key was replaced; every now and then it goes to the side. But to me that's not worth the money saved from purchasing this instead of brand new! Its whats runs the machine that grabs my attention- not the cosmetic. Again this G key works perfectly fine I mean a couple times it has went to the side but everywhere else on the laptop looks like it was brand new! I would definitely buy this again! This was my first refurbished purchase and I have no problem going the refurbished route in the future.
