Great computer for all around use

1st off I installed a 256 Gigabyte Sandisk SSD. This is so much faster, but don't get me wrong, the drive that comes with it works fine. Boots to Windows 8.1 in < 10 seconds. Not bad at all. Compares very closely to a I7 4670K I had a while back. Speaking of processors, the I3- 3130 M is all the processor you will ever need, unless into heavy gaming. The graphics are great, but as above, would need upgrading if your gaming heavily. Another great thing, how many computers will allow you to replace the processor all the way up to and including I7's. Just go to HP specification page to see this. The internet is fast and compatible with all I run. The card reader is a plus. I did have to purchase a HDMI to DVI adapter to use HDMI with my television (Monitor), but this was known ahead of time. Everyone has heard of "Beats Audio" by now. Well this computer uses a system very simulir. It is from DTS and is very compatible and like "Beats" as you have the same basic setup menus. Sounds great when sent through external Onkyo amp and Bose speakers. I would highly recommend this computer to anyone other than gamers, unless upgraded. I have built computers for over 35 years and this is the best off the shelf desktop I have seen. HP is a great manufacture with quality products. William Myers, Fayetteville,TN

    Great computer

I had a Windows 7 previously and I didn't want a Windows 8 after reading all the reviews. Being an 8.1 it's still a little different but it has the desktop, mouse etc like the 7. Very happy with it. It's very quiet unlike my 7 and really fast.

    great computer

Received sooner then i expected and in excellent shape. I have had trouble getting used to windows 8.1 but I am satisfied with the speed and also start up time is fast and quiet. I would recommend this computer.

    Good Buy!

This computer is "as advertised". My last computer did not have enough memory, and did not have room to add memory. This computer has a 1TB hard drive, 8GB Memory, and Windows 8.l and should be able to handle all the games and online shopping I can give it. I am still trying to learn Windows 8.l, but it will come to me after a while. You do not have to have a touch screen to use Windows 8.l as many people seem to think. I have a regular monitor and it works just fine with the mouse. I would certainly recommend this computer to a friend. I have already recommended it to my daughter in Canada.

    Newer, faster, bigger, better!

Needed to upgrade from my Dell 223 (8 years old or more) and we found this one. Includes newer quieter keyboard, which is similar but better than my old one. I was tired of the clicking noises. Also came with mouse. The old one was fine but might as well use the new one - all made by HP to go together. Very happy with purchase. Just need to reload my Office and Word - I'm not sure about the included WordPad software - it has been fine so far, and it may be all I need. Too soon to tell. Very good price on this new PC. Of course the bigger RAM, HD, etc, works well and very fast compared to my old PC. Hope it last a long time, too.

    So far, so good

I bought this to replace my Dell that died and I am very happy with this computer. It was very easy to set up and we were up and going in no time. It just took me some time to get used to Windows 8.1 since I had never used it before. We had Vista on the old one. I am looking to buy another one soon to replace another computer upstairs.

Great Computer for a business setting.

I wanted a new computer for running CAD/CAM software which is heavy on graphics and computations, so I had been looking at gaming systems, but I had been reluctant, as I had never heard of most of those brand names, and they had many unhappy customers. So I went with a name I have known and used for a long period of time. The clincher was the ability to support two monitors, as the programs I run, SolidWorks and MasterCam have lots of menus, and pop up dialog boxes that can require tabbing between them. With two monitors I can spread the menus, and boxes all out and see everything all at once. I unpacked the computer, hooked it up, plugged in both monitors and it all worked, with no setting adjustments required! Perfect, I loaded my software as soon as the backup was done, and I couldn't be happier!

    problem at factory?

have returned two because of corrupted video cards

    Up-to-Date

The desktop pc itself is fast and modern. You don't even really need the set-up instructions if you have previously owned a desktop. However, this means you will have a spare power cord, keyboard and mouse. No problem. Would love to have also gotten a guide for Windows 8.1.

    video not working

Purchased around August 18, 2014 found that nothing was showing on the monitor about October 1, 2014. Contacted Hp who will send me box and shipping info to send it back for repair. Are you kidding. $500.00 and can't use it after a month. Upon the advice of tech assist I had to open the computer and being a tech in past discovered that this systems video is integrated into the motherboard. I would not have bought this system if I had known that because when one goes down you're going to be without everything. It's not like I could go and purchase a video card. I have to send the whole thing to them.
