A Great Laptop for a Great Price.

With the 8GB Ram upgrade, I have found this laptop to be exceptionally fast. It has a solid build, with a very high quality feel to it. It is a beautifully designed laptop and I love everything about it. A Best pick for sub 500.00 dollar Laptop. It also is designed with Windows 8 in mind so there are no compromises going forward. For example the Touch Pad is Windows 8 compatible and accepts the new Windows 8 gestures. Swiping for Charm bar etc. You won't find many computers under 500 that have what this has.

Powerful High Quality Lap top for the Price

Many cool features like windows 8 and the ability to pan and zoom with the built in mouse pad. Graphics on screen identical to graphics on my new HD TV. Quick down load, streams net flix seamlessly. The only con I could think of is the outer container could be built a more sturdy.

    Fantastic value for the price!

My sister was so lucky to get this Black Friday at a great price. This is my family's (early, yet) present to me for Christmas, and I couldn't ask for a better one. The processor is super fast, and the features are just want I wanted in a notebook PC. I am loving it!

    Perfect with one flaw

speed, size, and window 8 all are great the only con i found was the touchpad. the touchpad is made with a rough/bumpy surface which for me is a bit of a downer. I prefer smoother touchpad for more sensitivity. my review is based on few days after purchasing the laptop.
This is my first laptop and I love it! It works perfectly for me for just everyday personal use. I am still trying to get use to the windows 8 considering I am use to windows 7 on our home computer and windows XP at work but it does have a tile where you can easily switch to your normal desktop if you want to. I think with time and playing around with it, I will figure it all out and like it even more. I would definitely recommend this to a friend just be prepared to learn windows 8 if you don't know it already!

    Great Intel Core i3 Laptop

Great sub $400 deal when purchased. Upgraded to 16GB (2x 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3 SODIMM) and get dual-channel, machine comes with single 4GB SODIMM. 720p HD Webcam, Windows 8, x64 Windows Experience Index 4.5 (Graphics), processor gets 6.6 (2x Core, 4x Thread), 16GB gets 7.3, HD 5.9 Touchpad has a bumpy texture, does not impact sensitivity. 1366x768 display a tad disappointing, but goes to the aggressive pricing.
Huge screen with great picture quality. Keyboard is slick and keys are nicely spaced out. Webcam quality is a little fuzzy but still pretty good, it also has lots of extra features for picture taking. Speakers are a little quiet depending on what website you're on. YouTube seems to be quieter, while Netflix is perfect. This laptop has a built in CD-ROM/DVD player but for some reason when I put a DVD movie in nothing came up and I'm not sure how to watch. Maybe an app I need to install? Still figuring this out! One of the big downfalls for me personally, is that iTunes isn't capable with Windows 8 yet.(Hopefully it will be soon!) I'll just keep continuing to use my desktop for iTunes. Overall it's a great laptop for surfing the web & the price was pretty good too! I'm starting College classes next month, so we'll see how it holds up! P.S. You'll get the hang of windows 8. It just takes time/practice! Instead of typing in another website every time you want to go somewhere else, think of it like an iPhone where you have your home screen (start screen) and you select your Facebook app to go to Facebook, your ESPN app to go to ESPN, etc. A little different in looks but same concept.

Display not working after 1 month

Bought the laptop from Walmart when I was in Florida. Within one month there is a display problem with the display of the laptop and had to send it back to hp for repair work. The repair work altogether with the shipping take more than one month to complete. Will not buy any hp product any more.

    cursor constantly freezes

This computer has great features but major glitches. I got it for Christmas and my cursor constantly freezes and yesterday the entire computer froze and wouldn't' t even shut down. It goes back tomorrow. I will try the same one again and see if maybe I just got a lemon.

    Great Laptop

This is my first laptop and so far it has been great. Windows 8 is definitely a learning curve but once you get used to it, it is fine. I love the screen size, I had thought about getting a 17" screen but am glad I didn't. This is a great beginner laptop for the price and the processor speed.
