This laptop is a great, cheap option. It runs well and gets the job done. It doesn't have too much storage, but that's to be expected because of the SSD, which I'd take over a regular hard drive with more storage. It also runs basic games like Sims 4 and Stardew Valley fine, if you're looking to do something like that. The thing that I don't love, but it's of no fault of this computer, is that it doesn't have a disc drive. It seems like most new laptops are moving in this direction in favor of digital downloads. That's something to be aware of if that's something you must have.

Great Option
This laptop is a great, cheap option. It runs well and gets the job done.

Slow Laptop with okay specs.
To me, and I am far from an expert, this laptop is slow! This laptop is the first I've purchased in quite a while, and it is no faster than my old gateway one. Also, it is very light, and that is because it is all plastic!! I purchased it for work, but I'll just use the ones provided to me. I've already returned it.

Small, Powerful, Solid Laptop

This is an ideal laptop for those that need a powerful and portable laptop. My only complaint is minor, the touchpad on mine sits too loosely in the case. Sometimes when you use the pad you can feel it shift or if you move the laptop it will clink. I have had mine for about a week now and have installed apps/programs and it is extremely fast. Windows 10 can be a bit intimidating however it only took me a few minutes to figure it out. This unit will be used mostly as a desktop replacement so I wanted something powerful that would not take up a lot of space on my desk. The trade off, of course, is that the 14" screen is a little small and the keyboard is a little tight. The hardware seems very solid. The screen is very clear, but is not 1080p. Viewing angles are good. There has a full-size SD reader - some I saw only accepted the mini size SD units. This computer was purchased on sale at a killer price, so I'm quite happy with this purchase.

Great every day user!

I don't know about everyone else, but the computer I got actually shipped with the I5-1035G7, which is clocked a touch higher and comes with Iris Plus onboard graphics. Not a huge difference, but it is a better processor than the G1 advertised. I will say, this I5 paired with the SSD makes for a very fast system. Comparable systems that I cross shopped costed 2-300 more. This isn't a high end system or construction, but for the price, you get some killer performance. It won't game well, (It will run something like F.E.A.R at max settings, but that's an old game). But for everyday computing, this will feel very fast.

It's pretty fast and very easy to use. I haven't had a laptop in years and needed one for online college. So far it's getting the job done and I love the web camera feature since I needed that to attend live seminars. I feel it's amazing especially for the price and what I intend to use it for.

Works great for the price

I bought this laptop to play sims 4 and so far it has worked very well. I have the game and a expansion pack installed and a bunch of cc and its running great.

HP computer

Using it right now to write this. I'm finding the touch very sensitive even though I have changed it to its lowest point. Hopefully I will get used to it in time. Otherwise this computer is just what I needed at a good sale price.

Pros/Cons in no order

- The laptop I received had a 1035G7, not G1 - The laptop runs the games you'd expect them to as you would expect them to. - Good if you're into video editing, opens Premiere Pro in close to five seconds and has good response time. - Doesn't come set in S mode, so easier for those who don't want to go through the trouble of taking it out - No backlit keyboard - Keyboard is very user-friendly, took me 10 minutes to type 80 WPM on this. - As mentioned earlier, loading speed is great on this - Fan is noticeably loud at times - Laptop is a nice matte color - You have to rely on OneDrive for the most part in terms of organizing files (unless there's some way to disable this that I don't know about) - Battery lasts about 8 hours with at-school use on next-to-lowest setting - Lasts long if in battery saver, but everything runs much slower - Very easy setup process - Boots in 2 seconds - Touch pad is extremely sensitive and has multiple functions, I've deleted whole essays on accident just by accidentally sliding my wrist across the touchpad - 14 inches isn't that big of a deal for this laptop - Receive free gifts for purchasing laptop w/ 10th gen i5 - but the products, games suck - Home screen resolution seems poor at first, but looks perfectly fine in video playback/gaming

Do not buy this

Do not buy this laptop! It has good specifications, good size and good speed .. but the noise it makes is unbearable. I never had such a loud laptop! Unfortunately I live in Argentina, and I can't return it .. it's a scam! The article says that it is 1035G1 but I got a 1035g7 as it happened to some that I read. Nose if it is better, noise ruins everything.

Great specs, poor screen

The CPU/RAM/SSD all have great specs, and were the reason I bought this laptop. The body and keyboard are decent. However, I noticed right away that the screen is poor quality. First, the viewing angle is horrible, and is the worst aspect of the device. If you move your head slightly off-center, or tilt the screen slightly up or down, the colors are totally distorted. Even at a normal viewing distance, glancing up at the corner of the screen is distorted vs looking at the center. It's worse than any laptop I've used in the last 10 years. There is no way 2 people can sit next to each other and watch Netflix, for example. Second, the brightness is far too low. Even at the highest brightness, some text is hard to read. Third, it's a 768 resolution, which is common but starting to be obsolete. If you have been using phones/tablets with high pixel density, these laptop pixels will start to look blocky. Also some other concerns: there is no removable battery; the fan starts to sound like a jet engine after watching video for a few minutes; and there is a USB-C port but it is data only, and cannot be used for charging the laptop. Overall this is a decent highly portable machine if you can get it on sale; but if you will be looking at the screen for long periods of time, you will be frustrated very quickly.
