I received my HART 40-Volt Cordless and Brushless 14-inch Chainsaw Kit. It comes with a 4.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery. This is a big battery, so it will last a long time in between charges. I fully charged the battery using the included charger. This chainsaw has a side access area so that you can easily adjust the chain and make any needed tension adjustments or change out the chain. First impression is that it looks very nice. The battery is a little heavy (so that it can last longer), but other than that, it's not TOO heavy. It also comes with a handy tool to make adjustments with. It does NOT come with bar oil. There is a little tank that requires bar oil which you can get most anywhere. This oil reservoir tank is used for the automatic oiler. I LOVE that feature so that you don't have to manually oil the bar. As most know, that can be tedious. I cannot say enough good about this chainsaw. With just a push of the switch, it starts. It's not very loud either. No gas or spark plugs ever needed. This is handy to keep anywhere. You could throw it in your tool box if you wanted. The bar is 14” long so plenty long enough for most jobs. I tried it out on few limbs from a tree and it worked seamlessly and produced smooth quick cuts! Highly recommend this to anyone that needs a saw that will work, not choke down.

Don't let the nice looking design fool you!!!
HART 40-Volt Cordless Chainsaw with it's nice looks has the power to cut through small to medium trees like a hot knife cutting through butter. I was simply blown away by the performance of an battery operated chainsaw.Hart chainsaw comes with battery and charger. Battery is a little powerhouse and give you enough power to cut through many small to medium trees. Battery rums warm which is normal with Lithium-Ion Battery. When charging battery let battery cool down then charge it.Chain adjustment key is great and on-board storage helps.(Remember chainsaw oil does not come with kit). No big deal! If trees are fallen and you need a no gas powered chainsaw, this is the one.Well built, made to last and is one nice looking chainsaw.
So heres how my chain saw shopping day went. After scoping around hoping someone has reviewed this Hart chain saw and seeing no reviews for a few days, i decided to give walmart a try with this new Hart brand. Some of their outdoor power equipment had specs comparing or beating high end name brands so that gave me hope. I buy the chain saw and get home to my 2 pine trees that fell (10-12 inches thickest parts diameter). I opened the box and set the battery on charge since it was dead/never used (which is fine). I put chain oil in the chain saw and set it down and came back in an hour and a half. It was about 80% charged and oil was spilled in a big puddle where it was sitting, because the resevoir had a leak in it. I decided to give it a try anyways because i really wanted to know if it was any good at cutting wood. And here is what happened: Note: the only safety is the thumb button, that stops from hitting the trigger. There is no chain lock feature. 1. The bar tighten feature was very easy to use and has storage on the saw for safe keeping. 2. Although only 14â blade, it cut through that pine tree (10-12â diameter) like a champ. I was very impressed. 3. After about 5-6 cuts, the battery seemed to be over heating. I made it through one more cut then couldnt start it again. 4. I put battery back on charger and just got red flashes meaning the voltage is too low to charge or the batter is over heated. After 30 minutes it still wasnt charging. 5. Returned it. Dont give up on Hart though. Maybe i got a bad one. I loved its cutting capability, and was disapointed with the battery and oil reservoir. To Hart: find a solution to the battery issue because no one will want a chain saw that does less than 20 cuts on full battery. Also, find a better oil reservoir that doesnt spill out everywhere. But the biggest concern with people buying battery powered POWER equipment is of course the capability (and you have that) and also the run time on a single battery charge (that you may have for super small stuff but not for common house hold person that has to clean up fallen trees here and there). But like i said, maybe i got the runt of the litter. I hope this helps a few people out. I returned already so i can take pictures and videos with saw in it but if requested i can show pictures of the wood i was cutting.
