This wireless security camera is so good that I have ten of them. It is extremely easy to set up which is a big plus ! In the past, I did make the mistake of purchasing other brands but was very disappointed. Another positive is the amount of features available - many more than other similar products. Yet another big plus is the resolution -- it is great !! Plus, it has the ability for two-way communication. The user has to switch between the mic and the speaker. The voice quality is quite good too. The alarm is quite loud -- another important feature. The user must have a strong wifi system. I use the cameras to monitor another home which is over 1,200 miles away. So, it is extremely important for me to have decent wireless security cameras. The price is excellent when one considers all the amazing features. Therefore, this product is highly recommended !!

Simple to use
Guardzilla Outside Camera
This is a great product backed up by great support. I bought this camera to mount outside of my house to monitor the driveway and front walkway. Initially the device is very well packaged and assembled. The camera runs off of either 4 AA batteries or the included AC adapter. It connects wirelessly to your home wi-fi network. Setup was easy although I had to repeat the process several times for my camera so "see" my router and the wi-fi network. Once connected the picture quality is amazing and the app is user friendly and intuitive. The first camera I bought wouldnt stay connected to my network without constantly power cycling the unit. Eventually I broke down and called Guardzilla's customer service department. I spoke with them and they guided me through some steps to ensure it was the camera and not me. Eventually they decided that the camera was defective and sent me a new one via USPS at no charge. The second camera works great and again the picture quality is amazing. The only reasons I didnt give this product 5 stars are these: One the night vision quality of the camera is very limited - I'd say 15 to 20 feet a maximum and you're out of the range of the IR nodes. Second, you have to log into this camera regularly or at least have the camera "armed" at all times or it may goto sleep and require a power cycle to reset.
Insecure security camera
I purchased this camera to monitor the outside of my house. The camera box says it is an outside camera. Great, but you should also include a secure way to mount the camera. The fact that you are using a heavy duty magnet is not a secure means to mount the camera. When you get an alert notice, you do not have a picture with the email. You have to go to the cloud to see the picture. Also, there is no date/time stamp on the picture. If you need to use it in a court case, you can't prove when the activity took place. The fact that it is in your email, will not hold up in court. With all that being said. I like the fact that it is both AC and battery capable. It is light and has a great color picture during the day and a greenish/black and white picture at night. If you want to use this inside and you can place at an 8 or 9 foot height, you will do good. If you want to use it outside? You will need to figure out a new way to mount it with the plastic mount that comes with the camera.
Great low cost wireless outdoor camera
I shopped around for a completely wireless outdoor camera and could only find 2 models on the market. This one is reasonably priced. Completely wireless. Uses batteries (power cord option comes with it). Unlike it's competitor, it does not need a camera router. Simply uses your home wifi. Pretty easy to set up. Only downside is live video can only be viewed from cell phone or tablet. Not computer. Great price. 30% cheaper than the competitor. Video feed is great day or night. I plan on buying another for other side of mu house.
I have to first say that the wifi reception where I was was not great. However my indoor 'Zilla works there and this outdoor camera, not so much. I also was looking for continuous playback. The outdoor camera disconnects every few seconds, in order to save battery power. The first night I vowed to return the camera to Walmart. The next morning I tried the camera in another location. The connection was better, but I noticed that the camera drops. I love the big shiny ball and the wacky magnet that makes the batteries jump around when you load them in, but as strong as the ball magnet is, it doesn't hold the camera in place. It does not take long at all for the camera to slide down and hang, in deference to the gravitational pull of the earth. The camera will likely be severely challenged, and get blown off the ball, by the ferociously windy region in which I live. And while I SO appreciate what people like to call 'price points', the mounting hardware, which is plastic and seems flimsy, needs to be more sturdy. The little pivot nipple thing seems poised to snap right off. I have yet to see what the night vision is like... I'm still deciding whether or not to keep it....
Customer service is bad, really terrible
This product looks good and sounds good. setup is a chore and customer service is bad. No phone number, just chat support and only before 6pm. Great for a person who does not have a job. bought a week ago, lost receipt. Error on setup. chatted with support that wants a picture of my receipt, no way to get that ti them via chat. Customer support stated it was tried to be registered a month ago. when I purchased it was factory sealed and it took me a while to get out if the box and to get the power cable hooked up. The app fir this is lousy as well. I am pretty tech savvy, and this whole experience frustrated me. I just wanted a cheap wireless 2 way voice camera for my dog when he was at home alone. I am sorry we need the receipt to unlock it. (Nick customer servics rep for guardzilla) my home wired system was not this frustrating and I had to set it up with a drill and ladder. stay away from this company (guardzilla), spend more money and get a better experience.
Don't waste your money, really.
Hi folks, I usually don't do reviews here on Wal-Mart, I buy most electronics online from various other companies but I felt absolutely compelled to talk about this little camera. I am an I.T veteran of 20 years, own and electronics repair company and have handled many security installs in the past, I have night owl systems as well at our business and I knew better than to buy this camera, so believe me when I say, for $100 bucks your not getting much. I had a pull behind trailer stolen from my driveway about 4 days ago, luckily we have been able to retrieve the stolen property but I quickly wanted to get something up in order to help identify the thieves should they try again. So on an impulse buy coming home from our shop the following day we decided to just go get a wireless camera option because I didn't have another system with cables long enough to reach out to the end of the drive way. In the end, our Wal-Mart didn't have much and the Guardzilla seemed like a deal from the QR scan and the box, but I was foolish, I should have read the reviews, which I always do. Sadly, this camera really disappointed me. First, its range is just so sub par - its really not very useful to be called an outdoor camera. If your more than a 100 ft from the router the camera its just spotty and unstable. Trying to monitor with anything less than 65% signal is simply un-doable. Oh well..... right, so I thought well its still a cool little device, Ill put it on the light pole outside the house just for added security and I would address the driveway issue with a night owl system. Well, I was even disappointed with it close to the house, the motion sensing is hit and miss, at one point I was standing 30 ft from it doing jumping jacks and it could sense it. The night vision option is a joke lol. Like really, they just put LED's in the end to make it look cool, because if you are in the dark and you are more than 2 ft from the camera face, its over, your not catching any thieves with this unless they are in broad day light. Finally, here comes the worst part! After all this, I was like, Ill put it outside the door so at least it will trigger when visitors come knocking and Im away. This seemed to work good, 90% signal 40ft from the router (roughly). Then after it began to properly capture motion I was dumbfounded to realize there is no STORAGE! Internal that is and they are trying to sell me a cloud service for remote storage through an in app purchase! I was blown away that the camera had no means of self storage, no SD slot, no nothing - I knew at that moment, compounded with the aforementioned problems that Guardzilla had a nice consumer trap going and that would be the last time I'd fall for it. So buyers beware, just save yourself the headache, even for the $100 I paid for this D-Link has better options.
So promising, but fails to deliver
Initially I was very happy to see another company produce an outdoor, totally wireless device at a price point less than $100. The camera has some pretty decent specifications for that price point. HD 720 on-demand streaming video, motion detection activation, night vision and fee based cloud recording. A pretty good deal if it actually delivers what it promises. The Good: The initial setup out of the box is very simple. Download the Guardzilla app, install 4 AA batteries or plug it in using the power supply provided. Follow the app instructions and the camera will be live in less than 5 minutes. The camera picture quality is good. As is the field of view. I was surprised at the width of the camera viewing area. Night vision is good. I found the mounting magnet to be strong and held the camera in place quite well. The Bad: The camera is unreliable. The camera seems to constantly go offline and unable to wake. The only way to get the camera operational again is to restart it by unlocking the battery cover or resetting the camera totally. I tried two different cameras over the course of a week and never got more than 36 hours of consistent up-time, meaning the camera would respond to a request for live viewing. The remainder of the time the camera would become unresponsive. Making it useless. Afterall, if the camera is not available to view when you want or need it to, then it is of no use. Also, during this time the camera is unable to record or detect motion. Another fail. Gaurdzilla support for this product is lacking. I called in several times and spoke with support 3 times over the week I had both cameras. No fixes or solutions were provided other than I must have a bad unit or to just restart the unit. That's no solution. Getting up on a ladder a couple times per day to restart the camera is not practical. An email to support has gone unanswered still to this day. The Gaurdzilla app while functional doesn't provide some basic information like remaining battery power of the camera. Also the app appears to be the same one used for the in-home security camera. This is evident by the panic button that is inoperable for the outdoor camera. Final Analysis: The camera just isn't reliable. I gave up and took the second camera back to the retailer for a full refund. What causes the connection issues is a mystery. Perhaps it's the firmware or could it be a problem within the app that sends the wake up signal to the camera? Who knows, but for now I cannot recommend purchasing this product. When you need it the most, it may not be available.
Bought one of these several months ago to help keep tabs on my kids while I'm at work. In short, it's almost worthless. The free cloud storage only stores seven second videos for 2 days (or apparently some arbitrary storage limit because I rarely have video from the preceding day). At least once a month it just stops working entirely and has to be power cycled in order to start working again, which is incredibly frustrating. On more than one occasion, I've tried to open up event history or monitoring in the app only to find out that my camera hasn't worked for 2+ days. As an added bonus, the app downloads every video thumbnail straight to your phone, so you'll occasionally find out that you have thousands of thumbnails that need to be cleared out. The only nice thing I can think to say about it is that it's really easy to set up. Would not recommend this.
